Khârn was the first to accept the Primaris Space Marine conversion.
This was primarily because Khârn understood Sanguinius' and Alexander's intentions.
As someone who had defeated the Primaris Head, his acceptance of Primaris conversion itself held symbolic meaning.
After all, if even the one who defeated the Primaris Head was willing to accept the Primaris' power, what reason did others have to say they didn't need it?
So Khârn proactively stated that he would be the first to undergo the conversion, which suited Sanguinius' and Alexander's needs.
Ordinary people always thought Khârn was a beast controlled by the Butcher's Nails, knowing only rage.
But in reality, the entire Twelfth Legion was managed by Khârn back then; Khârn also had some understanding of politics.
Secondly, Khârn himself genuinely craved the Primaris' power.
He had seen the Primaris' power in that Emperor's Children—oh no, Imperial Fists—named Sol.
It was just that the current Primaris were still too green to unleash their full power.
Khârn wanted revenge on Erebus, so he naturally yearned for more power.
The last reason was that Khârn was not afraid of the high mortality rate of the Primaris conversion surgery; he had endured even the Butcher's Nails implantation surgery, so how could he not endure the Primaris conversion surgery?
Of course, Alexander's ability to resurrect the dead was also one of the reasons.
"Take off your hood, remove your Power Armor, and enter this operating room for the conversion."
Deep within the Ark Mechanicus Explorer King, in front of an operating room, Belisarius Cawl said to Khârn.
The Primaris Head stood beside Cawl, while Khârn was accompanied by Alexander and Seth, who served as Alexander's bodyguard.
"Do you need me to go with you?" Seth looked at Khârn and asked.
Although he didn't know the exact identity of this mysterious person, Seth had grown to like the fellow a little.
"I can tell you don't quite like the Primaris yet, no need to accompany me." Khârn gave a dry laugh.
Although Belisarius Cawl had assured Seth that this conversion would not turn a Blood Angel into an Ultramarine, as that was the Emperor's underlying genetic code and could not be easily altered,
Seth still regarded the Primaris with his usual caution and suspicion.
Seth frowned deeply.
Khârn, however, showed no hesitation, gently removing the hood from his head; the inside of the hood squirmed like flesh, and in the blink of an eye, it burrowed into Khârn's body.
Khârn's face was exposed to everyone's eyes; it was a long, bronzed face, which, even distorted by rage and bloodlust into grotesque marks, could still be described as remarkably handsome.
But what was most striking were the hideous iron chains wrapped around Khârn's head; those steel cables savagely pierced into Khârn's head, constantly buzzing, appearing particularly terrifying.
Seth's expression suddenly stiffened, and the Primaris Head also subtly raised his eyebrows.
Cawl, meanwhile, stared at the Butcher's Nails on Khârn's head, showing an intrigued expression.
"World Eater." Seth growled, his fangs clearly exposed in the air, his fingers resting on the Gorechild at his waist: "Traitor Khârn!"
His exposed arms, Chainaxe, and the Butcher's Nails on his head—
These features allowed Seth to recognize Khârn's true identity.
"I thought we had established a friendship." Khârn sneered.
"Bullshit, traitor!" Seth spat.
"You truly are like your ancestor Amit; such honest people are rare. Yes, I am a traitor." A faint smile appeared at the corner of Khârn's mouth.
"Shut up, do you, a traitor, even deserve to mention the name of the Flesh Tearers' first Chapter Master?" Seth drew his Chainsword and lunged at Khârn's face.
Khârn remained unfazed: "Why can't I? We were once brothers, we were friends."
"You, a born butcher of the World Eaters, I will now—" Seth was on the verge of attacking.
"Seth." Alexander spoke softly.
"My Lord, he is the traitor Khârn, the Blood God's chosen, the traitor Astartes who slaughtered the most Astartes during the Great Crusade." Seth turned his head, disbelievingly.
At least the last one wasn't Khârn, Alexander's mouth twitched, and he waved his hand, signaling Seth to lower his weapon: "Sanguinius knows too."
Seth's face struggled for a moment, then he lowered his Chainsword.
"You want to kill me?" Khârn looked at Seth: "You can, but I have a grudge to settle first."
"After I kill Erebus, if I'm still alive, I'll leave myself for you to kill, if you can."
"To be killed by Amit's descendant, heh heh, that wouldn't be bad either."
Seth glared at Khârn with hateful eyes, but ultimately followed Alexander's and Sanguinius' will, refraining from attacking Khârn.
Khârn nodded at Seth for no particular reason,
Then, under Belisarius Cawl's guidance, Khârn removed his Power Armor, revealing a body disfigured by the Blood God's blessings and demonic possession.
"Heh heh, this will be a challenge." Belisarius Cawl observed Khârn's body as if looking at a rare experimental subject.
"I will try my best to control Khârn's organs from deforming, Sage, can you complete the conversion?" The demon Raum, possessing Khârn, emerged from Khârn's body and said to Belisarius Cawl.
Upon seeing the demon's appearance, Seth's face immediately became engorged with veins.
"Yes, but whether he survives is not for me to decide." Belisarius Cawl cast an inquiring look at Alexander.
Alexander nodded, agreeing for Cawl to proceed.
A Primaris possessed, God-chosen Champion Space Marine—Alexander found the idea interesting.
As for failure, Alexander could reverse life and death; even if it failed, he could still forcibly bring Khârn back to life.
Cawl bowed deeply to Alexander and then led Khârn into the operating room.
Alexander casually pulled out the Mad Clock from his pocket and adjusted the time, making the lengthy surgery conclude in an instant in the eyes of Alexander, Seth, and the Primaris Head.
Cawl emerged from the operating room, his body stained with blood, and the mechanical tentacles hidden beneath his robes were equipped with numerous horrifying tools.
"It is done, my Lord."
Cawl removed the horrifying tools from the mechanical tentacles beneath him and bowed to Alexander, saying:
"I have successfully implanted the Omophagea into his incomplete brain, the Synaptic Fibre into his muscles, and the Belisarius Furnace is also installed. We just need to wait for his body to adapt to these new organs and successfully activate them. As long as he can activate the Belisarius Furnace, his organs, bones, and muscles will rapidly repair, and he will live."
Alexander nodded slightly, about to adjust the time again, when Cawl suddenly spoke.
"My Lord, I have something I wish to show you."
This made Alexander raise an eyebrow slightly, wondering what Cawl intended to do,
But he sensed a slight tension in Cawl's tone, like a child about to give a gift to an adult, worried whether his gift would please the adult.
Although unclear about Cawl's intentions, Alexander, guided by Cawl, followed him to the deepest room of the Explorer King.
This room was entirely made of steel, surrounded by solid, thick walls, and numerous servitors and Primaris Space Marines designed by Cawl guarded the room, so the security was undeniably strict.
Cawl unlocked multiple security locks and extended a hand, inviting Alexander into the room.
The first thing Alexander saw was an inverted conical machine in the center of the room; this machine was not large, at most half a person's height, its upper part completely transparent, filled with crimson blood,
While the lower part extended many semi-mechanical, semi-biological tentacles, connected to other equipment in the room.
Above the machine, there was a silver plaque with "Sangprimus Portum" engraved on it in high gothic.
"This is... the Sangprimus Portum?" Alexander raised his eyebrows slightly, recognizing the machine before him.
This was a mechanical creation storing the genetic sequences of the twenty Primarchs, the genetic source code for all Space Marines, and the foundation of Cawl's Primaris technology.
But what did Cawl mean by giving him this?
Alexander couldn't think of any use for the Sangprimus Portum for himself; he wasn't a genetics expert.
"You truly know everything." Cawl praised reverently, then gestured for Alexander to look in another direction: "But what I wish to show you is something else."
Alexander looked in the direction Cawl indicated; it was a metal platform, on which several weapons and armor were displayed.
A sniper rifle, two daggers as black as night, a heavily modified spray paint backpack, and a set of Power Armor as black as raven's feathers.
Alexander's eyebrows twitched slightly.
"I found him when I recovered the Sangprimus Portum."
Cawl said softly, walking towards the metal platform:
"In a hidden space station in the Solar System, he was hidden in the shadows, existing in a state of stasis, tightly clutching the Sangprimus Portum."
"At that time, his bodily functions were almost completely lost, nearly dead, and even I couldn't bring him out of stasis alive; I could only store him here."
With Cawl's operation, the metal platform slowly rose, and a stasis pod appeared before Alexander's eyes.
Looking at the figure in the stasis pod, Alexander couldn't help but smile.
"But I think you must have a way to bring him back to life."
Cawl noticed Alexander's expression, knowing that his gift had successfully pleased Alexander, and his mood brightened considerably:
"You can surely awaken the sleeping Raven and once again fulfill his duty as a harbinger."
" Hahaha."
Alexander laughed aloud; he truly hadn't expected Cawl to have him.
"Cawl, your gift truly delights me."
Alexander stepped forward, extended his hand to place it on the cold glass exterior of the stasis pod, looking at the floating, pale-skinned, night-black-haired body within the stasis pod...
"This is, a genuine legend."
