Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: What's Happening?

Alex's POV:

He ran like every breath might be his last — ragged, fast, the world a blur of concrete and footsteps. People shouted behind him, a tangle of angry voices and hands reaching out. "Fuck, fuck, fuck," he spat into the wind, half prayer, half protest. His thoughts tore themselves apart: What did I do? Why are they after me? I don't want to run. I can't run . My breath is running out. But something or a part of him was telling him: don't stop running. Don't let them touch you otherwise you're gonna be done for.

His legs burned. His lungs were on fire. For a heartbeat he let himself imagine safety — then his toe stumbled on something he couldn't see. Balance betrayed him. He went down hard, palms scraping, body folding into the unforgiving street. He still tried one last effort to save himself but all were on vain. They were on him before he could gather himself; hands grabbed, curses closing in. He tried to push off, to scramble to his feet, but a blunt, heavy impact blew the air from his lungs. Pain flared through him like a warning light. Run, screamed the part of him that survived on instinct. No — I can't. Will I die here? He refused, he told himself, a mantra between the ringing of pain and the screaming in his ears: Come on. Come on. I have to go. I have to go. I have to go...

The chaser's POV:

We're under Boss Ross who works for Kingpin. The kid thought a degree could shield him from debt; he thought the world owed him courtesy. He thought he could teach us law. How naive! He forgot the jungle of law where only the fittest survive. And here the king of the jungle(Hell's Kitchen) is Kingpin . He is the rule and he is the law here. So when we tried to teach him in our own way the boy tried to swing at us and bolt. Audacity makes for easy lessons. We ran him down two and a half lanes, the street a blur of sweat and shouts. He slipped on his own feet, gave us the opening we wanted. I brought the bat down; he staggered, tried to flee again, but something about him smelled of fear and futility.

A grin split across my face — the kind that comes before you take what's owed — and the others mirrored it. We closed in, already tasting victory, and suddenly he blinked out of sight. One moment he was there, raw and struggling; the next, nothing. No body, no blood, just an empty space where the boy had been. For a second all the noise fell away, and serenity fell over the place like a funeral .

Alex wake up after a long time . He felt like his head buzzed and suddenly a lot of memory poured into his mind not of earth's but of a different Alex who lives in a universe different than his own where Captain America is considered as a war hero , who defeated Red Skull and thereby winning the World War 2 . My goodness! This is freaking Marvel Universe , he doesn't know what universe of marvel it is . If it's comic then he may basically be doomed .

He also realized he got a superpower ( but don't know how ) which is to teleport but if he put an amount of will power more than necessary he can cross universes but there is a catch if he used this ability too much it may affect his life force. So basically a cooldown period is needed for dimensional crossover but he can use simple teleportation even long distance teleportation easily .(at least that's what he thinks . )

Let's get to where he is now. As in a desperate moment he awakened his power , he used energy more than necessary so he is sure he has crossed over . But where to... lets see in the next chapter
