Chapter 17 - 17

Driving back to the Villa in Queens, the wealthiest district on Manhattan Island, Lin Fan entered the seaside vacation apartment he had bought for billions of U.S. dollars.

Then, he returned through the Digger's tunnel to the Initial Zerg Base 6000 meters deep underground.

Izsha stood beside the Dominator's Throne and respectfully said, "Dominator, the Zerg has grown stronger, but we still lack resources. However, Izsha also has good news for you."

"Tell me about it." Lin Fan sat on the Dominator's Throne and pulled Izsha's voluptuous body into his arms.

Izsha smiled and said, "Dominator, the Zerg absorbed many gene sequences this time. Although these gene sequences are inferior, useless, and crude, they are enough to help you unlock the tech tree and learn the first major technology."

"This is indeed good news." Lin Fan nodded and quickly walked to the Evolution Pit.

Izsha quickly followed.

In the Evolution Pit, countless Zerg prototypes were stored in eggs embedded in the walls. At the very back, a dark iron-colored wall appeared, with a tree-shaped pattern emerging on it.

Lin Fan came here, placed his hand on it, and a flood of information poured into his mind.

God's Eye: One of the Zerg's main technologies. Connecting the database with God's Eye will reveal all unknowns, help find target weaknesses through this biological technology, and allow for on-site research and learning.

The next day.

Lin Fan arrived at the place he had agreed upon with George.

After George and Colonel Tuode handed over, they had someone give Lin Fan a set of standard equipment.

Then, Lin Fan took off in one of dozens of apache transport helicopters.

Colonel Tuode personally led the team, and on the way, he began to explain the content of this mission.

"This mission is sponsored by Osborn Company, and its purpose is to find the blood orchid within the branch jungle of the Amazon forest."

"This plant has a very short flowering period and is known as the 'Flower of Immortality' in the pharmaceutical and chemical world. When you complete this mission, you will receive great merit and promotion. You will have the opportunity to participate in the Blackwatch recruit selection in half a month."

"But I must tell you, don't expect this mission to be easy. There are Cannibal Tribes who treat the blood orchid as a sacred object, as well as various wild beasts that have grown up eating the blood orchid since childhood."

"According to intelligence, there are fist-sized Blood Mosquitoes, scientifically known as 'Demon Mosquitoes,' whose venom is enough to kill several buffaloes... There are also arm-length centipedes, head-sized spiders, giant snakes dozens of meters long, and giant crocodiles hidden in the Water."

"Stay alert! Don't let your guard down! We are deploying a total of 586 soldiers for this mission, and I hope all of you can return!"

"Next, I will talk about some special requirements. Osborn Company has sent several accompanying personnel this time, and you must also protect their personal safety. Otherwise, even if you die, your pension will be forfeited."

"That's all. Mission complete."

Colonel Tuode was not old, not yet forty. With his achievements, he should have been promoted to Major General and enjoying life at the Base a long time ago.

But he preferred to be on the battlefield. For him, sitting in an office was worse than Death.

Tuode sat next to Lin Fan and laughed loudly, "Young man, how is it? Isn't this atmosphere cool?"

"A suicide mission?" Lin Fan checked the M16 assault rifle in his hand, his movements skillful, unlike what a new recruit should be capable of.

Tuode rubbed his bald head, pulled out a cigar from his pants pocket, lit it with a lighter, and took two puffs, saying, "How can a soldier improve himself if he doesn't go to a real battlefield? But you won't blame me for pulling you into this mission, will you?"

"No blame. Because I am confident I can survive." Lin Fan put the assault rifle aside and quickly began to change his clothes.

Tuode was a little surprised. This Chinese's psychological quality was good. If he could come back alive, even if he couldn't get into Blackwatch, he could still shine in the Marine Corps. "Hahaha, good. If you come back alive, I'll promote you to Corporal. I saw your skills on TV yesterday, so you probably won't need those three months of recruit training."

Dozens of transport helicopters flew away in the dawn.

Hours later...

Brazil.

On the banks of the Mississippi River.

Osborn Company's accompanying personnel were already waiting for Colonel Tuode here.

There was a slight delay due to border issues, and they had only just arrived, causing some holdup.

However, the people from Osborn Company had no boat to go downstream, so this slight delay was nothing.

It was the rainy season, with rain two and a half days out of three, causing the river to swell. Many boats refused to sail, and no one was willing even for a high price.

As for traveling by apache transport helicopter? That was denied entry before even entering Brazil. A transport helicopter loaded with heavy firepower? Even without hostility, the embassy would not let it pass, otherwise, missiles would directly shoot it down.

Finally, some soldiers in the Marine Corps knew how to operate boats, so Osborn Company bought a large number of boats to use as transportation.

However, in an unfamiliar place, they still needed to find a guide. After inquiring, they learned of a seasoned guide named Jin Song. Colonel Tuode and Mark, the head of Osborn Company, went to invite him.

And Lin Fan found Gwen and Jessica in the Osborn Company team.
