On a Saturday night, five 12th-grade students gathered at one of the houses located in the city of Maykarta, a modern city newly established a few years ago by the Indonesian government.
They were:
· Radhif Izzuddin
Tall and lanky, with a slightly muscular build. He had tan skin and short hair that always looked neat even though he often seemed to have just returned from an adventure. He sat relaxed on the sofa in Dhoost's living room, talking about his plans for a mountain trip while fiddling with his phone. He was indeed known as an adventurous soul who never ran out of ideas to try new things. He attended SMA Negeri 4 Maykarta in the Science stream.
· Ryn Dandelions
Tall and thin, with pale skin as if he never saw the sun. His hair was messy, as if he had just woken up and come straight to Dhoost's house. He sat a bit away from the group, only occasionally joining the conversation. Although he seemed cold and aloof, he remained a loyal attendee every week. Sometimes he would glance out the window, or pull a cigarette from his jacket pocket, and then smoke quietly on the balcony.
· Nadhyfa Azzaqiya
The only girl in the group. Not too tall, slender, with short, wavy hair. She was the life of their gatherings. She never stopped cracking funny remarks, sharing school gossip, or starting new topics of conversation. Her voice was cheerful and always kept the atmosphere lively. She was in the same stream as Ryn: Social Sciences at SMA Negeri 4 Maykarta.
· Dzoavha Akilua
Fair-skinned,slightly tall, wore glasses, and had short hair. He sat quietly near the table, sometimes opening his laptop, sometimes answering his friends' questions with brief yet precise answers. As a student in the Computer and Network Engineering program at SMK Negeri 2 Maykarta, he was the only one who truly understood coding, servers, and technology. He was in the same study program as Dhoost, but in a different class.
· Dhoost van Meijer
Tan-skinned,not too tall, with short black hair. He was the owner of the house, and every Sunday night, he played host to these five teenagers' regular meeting. He didn't talk too much, but he knew how to make everyone feel comfortable. He was also a student of Computer and Network Engineering at SMK Negeri 2 Maykarta, but in a different class from Dzoavha.
The five of them gathered as usual. Light conversation, jokes, laughter, and plans for the future filled the night. They didn't know that this night was their last night as "ordinary kids."
