THE DIMENSIONAL CODEX

THE SUNDERING—HISTORICAL OVERVIEW

Long before the present time, the world was whole. Humans and demons existed in a single realm, constantly clashing over power and fear. The tension escalated into the Great Cataclysm, an endless war that threatened the fabric of existence itself. During this war, General Sparda—one of the few beings capable of understanding both magic and arcane technology—realized the truth: the world was not breaking because of power, but because of people.

In an act of sacrifice, Sparda forged a blade known as Eclipsion, a divine weapon infused with both celestial and demonic essence. To stabilize the collapsing reality, Sparda split his own power into two pendants, giving each half to his two sons. With Eclipsion, he forcibly separated the dimensions, creating two different realms: Aetheris, the realm of humanity, and Nethyra, the realm of demons. The act saved existence, but at a cost—Sparda vanished into the void between realms, an endless space now known as the Infinite Realm.

Both sons were separated during the dimensional split, and history itself became twisted and rewritten. Humans declared Sparda a hero; demons named him a traitor. The pendants fell silent, waiting for the rightful heirs to awaken them.

THE ARTIFACT: ECLIPSION

Eclipsion is a dormant weapon wielded by Jake Sparda. It serves as the only blade capable of channeling the power of both dimensional pendants. Its primary function is to merge or seal dimensions. However, attempting activation without both pendants is fatal—the blade rejects incomplete power, consuming the wielder in the process. The weapon represents balance, conflict, and destiny.

THE DIMENSIONAL PENDANTS

There are two pendants that hold half of Sparda's soul.

Riven Kaelith is the owner of the Pendant of Light. It responds to relics and dimensional disruptions and resonates with life and balance. It pulses like a heartbeat when it is close to forbidden relics, almost as if it recognizes the material from which it was made.

Jake Sparda, the son who stayed in the demon realm, is the owner of the Pendant of Shadow. His pendant carries chaos energy, enabling him to manipulate rifts and demonic forces. The two pendants together would reawaken Sparda's full soul—and with it, the power to restore or destroy realms.

CHARACTER DOSSIERS

Riven Kaelith is twenty-three, a relic hunter surviving within the ruins of Aetheris, the human realm. He is quiet and introspective, constantly torn between who he is and who destiny insists he must become. Though he rejects the idea of being chosen, the pendant of Light reacts to him as if recognizing its rightful heir.

Jake Sparda, twenty-five, commands demon forces in Nethyra. Unlike Riven, Jake embraces his destiny. Intelligent, disciplined, and driven, Jake believes that restoring the original merged world is the only path to justice—and he is willing to burn realms to make it happen.

Captain Mira Calen serves as a Rift Patrol captain in Aetheris. Stoic and ruthless, she hunts down relic users and rift anomalies. She sees duty as simple—but feelings as warfare. Her path inevitably crosses with Riven's, shifting her from enemy to reluctant ally.

THE THREE REALMS

Aetheris is a technologically advanced human realm powered by arcane science. Relics linked to the past are outlawed, and anyone found using dimensional artifacts is labeled a criminal.

Nethyra is a demon realm shaped by emotion. Rage forms storms, grief burns like living fire—the land shifts based on the will of those who inhabit it.

The Infinite Realm lies between both worlds, a void where Sparda's fragmented consciousness remains trapped. It is neither alive nor dead, simply waiting.

PROPHECY OF RETURN

Ancient forbidden texts contain a prophecy:

"When Light meets Shadow, the blade will wake. When the blade wakes, the world will break."

Which world will break—or be reborn—is not mentioned in the prophecy.

CORE CONFLICT

Riven seeks truth. Jake seeks restoration. Sparda seeks balance. Mira seeks peace.

But only one of them will choose the final path.
