Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: An Experiment with the Griffin Squad

Chapter 93: An Experiment with the Griffin Squad

The Debrade Beverage Factory restarted its production line, and Chris also learned the purpose of Joe's break-in.

"So, you discovered that dragon blood drinks could restore sensation to your lower body, and that's why you risked sneaking into this factory, wanting to steal enough supplies for yourself?"

Chris handed Joe a bottle of dragon blood drink, confirming with a surprised expression.

Joe awkwardly accepted the beverage—this stuff concerned the rest of his life, so he wasn't about to refuse. "Uh... yeah, that's exactly what I was planning."

He took a sip and felt the tingling sensation in his legs. Joe hummed contentedly, "This is it, this is the real stuff."

Joe then complained, "If I'd known earlier that you owned this factory, why would I have taken such a risk and done something illegal?"

"You've really got some nerve. The original formula was already incredibly effective. Why'd you have to dilute it?"

Listening to Joe's blunt criticism, Chris's expression darkened, and he said nothing.

But Brian, observing the situation from the side, noticed something was off and quickly interjected, "Joe, how can you say that? If Chris hadn't started this factory, you wouldn't even have a chance to recover your legs."

Joe, who'd been venting his frustration, realized how inappropriate his words were when he heard Brian's response, and quickly apologized, "I'm really sorry, Chris, I..."

Seeing Joe's sincere expression, Chris understood that he'd found hope for recovery and had spoken wrongly due to being overly emotional.

So, without waiting for Joe to say more, Chris spoke, "It's alright, Joe. Given our families' relationship, you don't need to be so formal."

"It's also my fault for not knowing about your situation—otherwise I would've sent dragon blood drinks to your house ages ago to help you recover. But it's not too late now. I'll have Brian deliver enough of these beverages to you until your body is fully recovered."

Hearing Chris say this, Joe immediately became emotional and said with tears in his eyes, "Th-thank you so much, Chris. I really don't know how to repay you."

"Ha! We're practically family, Joe. No need for all that."

Chris clasped Joe's hand to comfort him. After confirming that his legs could be saved, Joe's emotions were running incredibly high!

Especially after realizing the beverage Peter had brought was running out two days ago, Joe had paid a premium trying to find someone who'd sell him the old formula, but no one would.

He'd found an organization called the Iron Fist Society, hoping to join them to obtain their gym special edition dragon blood drinks, but they'd refused his membership, using his paralysis as an excuse.

After experiencing repeated rejections, Joe had come up with the desperate idea of sneaking into the factory to steal the beverage.

And just when he thought he was going to die at the hands of those robots, he'd discovered that the owner of this factory was Chris, whom he'd watched grow up.

The emotions at that moment were truly indescribable.

Thinking of all the prejudice and humiliation he'd suffered recently, Joe—such a tough, decorated cop—actually broke down crying in Chris's arms.

"God! Chris, you're the pride of Quahog! I'm so proud to know you!"

Chris sensed Joe's emotional turmoil and understood the deep pain in this disabled hero's heart.

However, although he sympathized with Joe's struggles, Chris wasn't doing this purely out of charity.

After inspecting the Iron Fist Society earlier, Chris had already realized that this organization he'd casually founded had developed values that contradicted his original intentions.

Although he'd never intended for this organization to play any major role—he only needed them to become his staunch supporters and vote when necessary—

It was clear that with Marn and Hanger's abilities, these two students who hadn't even graduated yet simply didn't have the capacity to fulfill even his modest requirements.

So, upon seeing Joe at this moment, Chris thought of having him help manage and redirect the Iron Fist Society.

Although the Griffin family members were all ridiculous, it had to be admitted that they were also remarkably capable in their own chaotic way.

Asking them to do something constructive might be completely useless, but if you wanted them to disrupt something, then that thing would be 100% derailed.

But that was only one application, and it was the crudest kind.

What Chris was considering at this moment was experimenting with other uses for the Griffin family's unique talents.

After Joe's emotions stabilized, Chris stated his idea.

"Joe, do you have any plans after your legs recover, or will you still be on the force?"

Taking a tissue to wipe his tears, Joe pondered for a moment and said, "Chris, do you have something in mind? Being a cop is fine, but if you need my help, just say so."

Since Joe had become disabled, he'd been particularly sensitive to others' attitudes. Hearing Chris's question now, Joe had already picked up on its implications.

Seeing his convenient ally being so perceptive, Chris no longer held back and said directly, "Besides the gym and the beverage business, I also established a club, but because of school, I don't have time to get involved in the club's development.

So the club's current trajectory deviates somewhat from what I envisioned. I was wondering if you could help me manage it?"

After listening to Chris's explanation, Joe felt relieved. He'd thought it was something major, but it turned out to be such a straightforward matter.

He'd even mentally prepared himself to help Chris with some legally questionable business.

"Which club is it? Have I heard of it?"

After confirming that the request wasn't problematic, Joe immediately agreed, then asked which organization it was.

"You should definitely have heard of it—it's the very popular Iron Fist Society."

Chris watched Joe with interest, wanting to see his expression after learning that he could now manage the very organization whose members had looked down on him.

However, when Joe heard that the Iron Fist Society was also Chris's property, he didn't think about humiliating the members who'd previously scorned him. Instead, he nodded seriously and said, "Then you really should pay more attention to this club, because its development really isn't on the right track."

"So this will depend on your abilities, Joe. Whether you can straighten them out is all up to you."

"Don't worry! Once my legs recover, whatever kind of organization you need the Iron Fist Society to be, I can shape it for you."

Listening to Joe's confident assurance, Chris nodded with satisfaction.

He certainly believed Joe had this ability, but compared to getting a functional organization that carried out his vision, Chris was currently more concerned with whether he could bring the Griffin family's chaotic talents under his direction.

Since his simple use of Peter to deal with the elderly scam artist last time, Chris had realized something important.

Use chaos to fight chaos!

In such a bizarre world, Chris encountered strange situations he couldn't always handle conventionally, but the Griffin family—blessed by the power of absurdity itself—could definitely manage them.

So, as long as he brought these people into his sphere of influence, then even in this unpredictable world, he could operate without fear.
