Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Good and Evil

"Lord Jiyin!"

The Demon Slayer Corps members suddenly ran over from a distance.

"Hey, what brings you guys here?" Ji Yin asked.

The lead Demon Slayer member, panting, said, "We just found a survivor at the scene. He knows that demon, and we were worried that you wouldn't be a match for it, so we came to help you."

"I've already killed that ghost," Ji Yin said calmly.

"Forehead..."

This startled the team members who were about to continue speaking. Then one of them scratched his head and said, "I knew it. Lord Jiyin is a Pillar. Dealing with that demon will be no problem for him."

"By the way, what's the deal with that ghost?" Ji Yin asked.

"Oh, that's the only survivor of that village. According to the child, he's the ghost's cousin. The ghost was originally a poor child in the village who was bullied every day. But today, for some reason, he suddenly went crazy and killed everyone in the village, but it seems he deliberately let the surviving child go."

"In a way, he's a pitiful person."

"If you can become a ghost, you don't deserve anyone's pity." Ji Yin said calmly, "Even if he was pitiful before, he killed a whole village after becoming a ghost, and for that alone, he is unforgivable."

"yes!"

The Demon Slayer members who had been reprimanded immediately stood at attention.

Ji Yin chuckled at their antics, then shook his head helplessly: "Alright, let's go back."

They were about to leave when Ji Yin's footsteps suddenly stopped.

"Um?"

He looked up at the ceiling, his brows furrowed: "What's going on? Why hasn't this Blood Demon Art dissipated yet?"

Normally, once a demon is killed, his Blood Demon Art will immediately become ineffective.

But now, more than a minute has passed since the ghost was killed, yet the Blood Demon Spell that had been hanging over his head has not dissipated.

He looked at the Demon Slayer team members in front of him with suspicion: "Did you notice anything unusual when you came here?"

"No!"

The Demon Slayer members looked completely bewildered.

Ji Yin frowned as he looked around. The more he looked, the more he felt something was wrong, and a sense of foreboding suddenly rose in his heart.

Then he suddenly turned around and looked at the corpse of the demon whose neck he had severed.

It still lay there quietly, showing no sign of turning to ashes!

What's going on?!

Is it a hallucination?

Impossible! He clearly just cut off that ghost's neck; there's no mistake in that feeling!

"Everyone, be on high alert immediately!"

Although they didn't know why the ghost's corpse hadn't dissipated, Jiyin immediately alerted the team members around him.

"Mom!" Longli's head, which had fallen to the ground, stared blankly at his mother in front of him.

Wasn't Mother already dead? Could it be... a fleeting image? It must be! Is it because I miss Mother so much that she appears?

Longli looked silently at his mother, tears streaming down his face. His mother gently stroked his head, her face full of affection, and said, "No matter what, Mom will always protect you."

"Lord Jiyin, look at that demon!" Several Demon Slayer members suddenly shouted in terror, as if they had witnessed something horrifying!

Suddenly, the headless corpse that had been severed by the Swift Shadow suddenly began to move strangely, and then a perfectly intact head grew out of its neck.

However, this head is somewhat different from Longli's original appearance, with long, jet-black hair and eyes full of gentleness and kindness.

The head on the ground swayed slightly, and then its neck suddenly grew at an astonishing speed, and in the blink of an eye, a complete body grew out!

This ghost has the original appearance of Longli, but his eyes are full of indifference and coldness.

"Why? Why isn't this demon dead even though its neck has been cut off?" The Demon Slayer team member was dumbfounded.

"Everyone, get your spirits up!"

Ji Yin shouted, "This ghost is unusual! All of you step back! I'll deal with him!"

He sneered, looking at the two ghosts in front of him. His eyes showed no fear, but rather a fierce fighting spirit: "Won't you die if your neck is cut off? What if you cut it off again!"

The next moment, he rushed to the demon that looked exactly like Ryuri, accompanied by his Nichirin Blade!

"Wind Breathing Eighth Form: First Gale Slash!"

A surging gust of wind slashed straight at Ryuri's face, but the white-haired Ryuri smirked: "Expand your domain!"

"The blood domain is overwhelming!"

The next moment, the blood-red light spread rapidly outwards from the white-haired dragon.

Jiyin watched as his Nichirin Blade was about to fall on the neck of the demon in front of him, but for some reason his movements seemed to be slowed down countless times, and he couldn't bring himself to strike!

The white-haired dragon raised its head and threw a punch at Ji Yin!

"not good!"

Ji Yin's eyes widened, but even though he had clearly sent the message to his body to dodge, his body was unable to make a move.

The next moment, Longli's fist landed on Jiyin's head, and his body finally returned to normal, but what followed was unimaginable pain.

Ji Yin was blasted away by a punch.

"ah!"

"Lord Jiyin!"

Jiyin collapsed to the ground in pain. The Demon Slayer Corps members around him raised their swords and pointed them at Ryuri as a precaution, while others went to check on Jiyin's injuries.

"Lord Jiyin, are you alright?!"

Ji Yin is in a bad state; his right eye and entire right cheek have been smashed to pieces by Long Li's punch.

"Tsk, I originally intended to smash your head with that punch," the white-haired Ryuji said with a regretful expression.

"That's so cruel."

The black-haired dragon looked at Jiyin lying on the ground with concern in his eyes: "Why did you make him suffer like this? This pain is something you shouldn't have to endure. I'm sorry, you must be in a lot of pain."

He sighed, tears welling in his eyes: "Don't worry, we'll definitely kill you with our next strike, so you won't have to suffer like this."

"What on earth is going on with these two ghosts?!"

He stood there, wielding his sword, gritting his teeth as he aimed it at the Demon Slayers in the Dragon Clan.

"Cough cough."

Ji Yin used his sword to support his body and struggled to his feet.

"Oh? Can you still stand up?"

The white-haired dragon grinned.

"Hahaha..."

Ji Yin gasped for breath, a maniacal smile spreading across his face: "Of course I'll stand up, after all, I haven't severed your neck yet!"

He then lowered his voice and said to the Demon Slayer team members beside him, "You guys get out of here!"

"Lord Jiyin..."

"Stop arguing!"

Jiyin, panting heavily, said, "You'll all die if you stay here. I can't hold out much longer. Go back and find a stronger pillar!"

This is an order!

"I'm so touched!"

Black-haired Ryuu once again couldn't control his tears: "Willing to sacrifice himself to protect the weaker teammates? It's really, really touching."

The white-haired dragon remained expressionless: "But can you protect them?"
