"There's one last thing," she announced.
"What now?" Eric asked, though he was smiling at her enthusiasm.
"I saved the best for last," Hailey said mysteriously.
"Should I be worried?" Eric asked.
"These are rare items," Hailey announced dramatically, beginning to unwrap the package with exaggerated care.
"Rare how?" Eric asked suspiciously.
"You'll see," Hailey said.
"Ta-da!" Hailey exclaimed, holding up two pillowcases.
The pillowcases were clearly custom-made, with names embroidered in elegant script.
One was red with "Eric" stitched in white thread.
The other was white with "Hailey" written in red.
Eric stared at them, his expression frozen.
"These are the only pair of pillowcases like this in the world," Hailey said proudly.
"I can see why," Eric muttered.
"Because it's got your name on it, and mine too!" Hailey continued, holding up first the red one and then the white one for Eric to see.
"I noticed," Eric said dryly.
"How are these?" Hailey asked eagerly.
