Chapter 36 - Third Awakening

Klein Cylrit

My steps were quick but also random. I could feel the presence of an outer, different kind of a being. A being with the same intensity of Organizer.

Before this I wanted to talk with Nico about his rune, but right now I had no time to think about that.

The presence after me was getting closer, I could feel it. I passed through the side streets then hid behind a trashcan. I saw a shadow dip away right in front of me. I let out a breath in relief, thinking that I was finally safe.

"So, now what are you?" I asked myself aloud.

I slowly peeked through the trashcan to see the main street. I looked left and right but there was no shadow in sight. I shook my head.

"I just want to go home." I pouted.

I slowly walked to the main street and smiled a little.

"Okay, no shadow in sight."

Kids were playing with snow, so I just hid around them. "

"What a way to start the new year." I thought to myself.

Green aetheric particles were everywhere, flying around me. I saw a kid throwing some snowballs at his friends. The moment made me smile. I remembered the days I played in the snow with Nico, until mom died. I quickly shook myself out of the thought. I don`t want to remember those days. Days that made even father despair into... the abyss.

"Hey big brother catch!" A kid shouted.

I looked at the direction of the voice and saw only fun between the two siblings. I smiled at the sight. They were playing nicely, while me and him only fought. My mother`s death... A break point between two brothers.

"Hey Klein!" I heard another voice and this time it called out to me.

I looked at my back but saw nothing.

"What?" There was no one there but kids playing with snow.

"One of the kids must have the same name as me." I thought.

"Hey Klein!" I heard the voice again but from the other side.

I quickly turned, but again saw nothing. I scowled. "Is someone playing with me?" I hoped it was like that. I turned my head right, left, back and then again forward. No one was here that could have known my name.

"No Klein. Up!"

I quickly looked up and as I did darkness swallowed me.

"Huh? Uh... What the hell?" I looked around in daze, my head hurted so much that I couldn't even feel it`s pain.

"You finally woke up." A smug voice said. "I was getting scared for a second." The voice laughed. "Just kidding, I knew that you would wake up just right in time. After all, I organized it."

I looked at him. His pure-white eyes staring directly at mine. Organizer looked at me with a slight grin, then he turned his head to look at the darkness before him. Organizer had a body that was in utter darkness, at least most of it. His body had many little glowing white particles. His pure white hair was weaving around as if there was wind.

"So Klein, want me to cut short? Or do you want the same mundane long explanation you always choose?"

I moved my hands in the dark ground. There was nothing to touch, it was all a void.

"Where... are we?" I asked, forsaking any sense of anger towards the being before me.

Orginzer`s white eyes looked around then back at me. He made a grin again. I could see the all-white teeth and the outlined lips forming it well.

"So you do chose the same old option again? Tsk, how tedious."

"Dont play with me! You killed Grey!"

"Oh?" Orginezer laughed, then cocked his head. "Me killing him? Yeah well no. I hate and despise him and his acts but I did not kill him. I cannot kill him."

I tried to find a place to stand up but couldn't, the void was all around. After failing to stand up I looked at him.

"Liar!" I hissed. "Then tell me you son of a bitch, where is my friend?"

Organizer was silent for a moment, then spoke as if he was a casual friend to me.

"Oh, my little djelofamonel, how ignorant you are. Thinking that you have order and heroism in your heart but it's all just a little act. Your daddy issues are just so unnecessary to me. I just hate you so much. I hate you even more than I hate him. Did you know that your name 'Klein' meant 'small'? You probably didn't know. How can you? You know so little."

I let out a breath and finally found a place to stand up. I couldn't feel the ground beneath my feet yet I was standing. Around me, thousands of green aetheric particles were floating around.

"You have a weird sense of arrogance. You think you are above all while you are not. Yet you act like you are a god."

Orginerzer motioned his hands in the air in a really weird way.

"Maybe. Maybe not. But I do know the fact that I am no god. I am above them too. In the grand scheme of things you and I will fight a battle to the end of eternity. So tell me Hero Of Heaven and Hell, who are you to me? And what are you to them?"

I looked at him, my eyes dancing to the side, to an even darker point of the void. I shook my head:

"Sorry, come again?"

"Eh...? What? Are you acting dumb? Yes of course you are acting dumb. You are trying to do something that won't work against me."

I looked away from him. I wanted answers that mattered. I needed answers.

"So you think you are so smart huh?" Orginezer said with tips of annoyance.

"Nop. I don't really think that I am a highly intelligent person. But I do know that I am smart enough. Enough for you at least."

"Breathing in the dark, lying on its side. The ruins of the day are painted with a scar. And the more I straighten out, the less it wants to try. The feelings start to rot, one wink at a time."

"What are you talking about? Tired of me?" I asked, confused at the sudden rhyming words.

"You are just so annoying, you know that right?"

I looked above. The green aetheric mottes above us looked like distant stars.

"You asked me: What am I to you? I will tell you what I am. I am a kid who lost his mother, father and brother all in a single night. I am a human that loves to help other people. I am a brother, a son, a human but above all I am a kid with a heart of a good person. I know for a fact that I am an enemy to you, and a hero to others." My voice loud and proud.

Organizer began to clap his dark hands. His claps echoed all around the eternal void.

"Wow! What a main character energy you have. You really want to act like a bullshit hero. But you can never change my mind. You are just an act. An attention seeker. A boy banished from hell. I know you more than you know yourself."

I gritted my teeth at his mocking words.

"I am no act." I objected. "I am not a good person because I want the attention of this false world. I am a good person because I know that it's the right thing to be. But do not confuse my kindness with foolishness. I can be vicious when I want to too."

Organizer took a step back and as he did his body began to morph into what looked like a human. A human with dark horns that curled up wards and black wings that spread wide. A human who was as pale as a paper. He had a spacy cloke on him. But the thing that made me dreadful was his face. He had white irises and his hair was the same white again yet he had a smile on his face that radiated power. Power that can drown me right here, where I stood.

Organizer spoke in a calm but threatening tone:

"So, how do I look?"

I was silent. Couldn't speak because of the powerful intent before me.

"Oh, come on boy! Speak up." He giggled.

"The Lord of Darkness awaits if you not speak."

I took breaths and breaths until I was ready. I never was ready, only valor.

"Your power is beyond words, yet you play with us. You write and we act. You conjure and we play. But..."

I stopped myself knowing I had to choose my next words carefully. I needed to get under his skin if I wanted answers. After a couple of long intense seconds I finally spoke:

"You need us don't you?"

"Eh?"

Orginezer`s face faltered into stupidness.

"No... I don't need you. I don't need any of you."

I smirked.

"I don't believe you. Because, I mean there has to be a reason you interact with us, right?"

I opened my arms like I didn't know what to say, but I did know. I now found a blindspot in that arrogant being's arrogant thoughts.

"No." He simply said.

"Oh? But then why am I here? Come on, what were you gonna cut short?"

Organizer greeted his teeth in frustration and then let out a deep sigh.

"I may or may not need you, but I need your story. And thus, I need you to get stronger. Destruction will prevail, and I want to stop him. Because after 21.062.010 times, I finally realized that his end is the only way this story can end the way I intend. An end that is a bleeding peace."

A dark figure manifested in his side. The figure looked like the darkness that brought me here.

"We wasted enough time. Now we have to take action." Organizer said.

"For what?" I asked as if I understood what he was saying.

Organizer clapped his hands and then in a swift move both of his hands touched my left wrist.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"You are a hero Klein. But show me how long that heroism will last as your journey continues. The more you know, the more you will understand that being a hero is meaningless in all of the realms. Klein, now get ready for your awakening."

I tried to speak but the moment my mouth opened a burst of energy conjured up in my left wrist. I closed my eyes to shield them, but the moment I did, the feeling of the energy had vanished instantly. I opened my eyes expecting to see Organizer`s eyes, but there was nothing. Only a vast place. There was a mirroring water beneath my feet and a purple sky above me. Then I heard a voice, a voice that sounded like Orginzer`s:

"Welcome Descendant of Destruction Klein Cylrit! You have achieved your third awakening! Now get ready for your trial against 200.00 other awakened. Remember that you should not trust anyone. Even if you need to. Because in the world you are in right now, you can't even trust yourself."

"Why?" I shouted. "Where am I?" No answer came.

Then the water began to shake, and... split open. I was falling into deep darkness. But as I continued to fall I realized that there was light in the distant ground. I smiled, but the smile faltered the second I felt sharp pain in my left wrist. I wanted to look at it but it was still too dark.

I finally hit the ground.

Cold water greeted me. My body was in pain. I used my entire body to stand up. I looked around trying to grasp where I was. A quick gasp escaped my mouth as I examined my surroundings. I was on the top of a volcano, and the liquid that I thought was water was actually blood. A human`s blood. My eyes searched for the source and I quickly found where the blood had come from. Just five meters away from me stood a girl who had a bow in her hands. She had long brown hair and brown eyes. Her face was sweet but her eyes were dangerous. She slowly looked at me, and we met eyes. I quickly turned away from her gaze, scared. I wanted to get out of here. The girl could kill me anytime she wanted. I needed to make a plan fast. But when I was about to gather some thoughts I saw something engraved in my left wrist. There was a rune carved on it. The rune both looked like a word and also a planet. Its name was also engraved in my mind: The Rune of Space.

"How?" The girl asked suddenly.

My eyes quickly went to her. She had both a scared and an angry face. Her bow was pointed at me, her right hand was on the string ready to strike.

"How in the damn name of Ion do you have a rune of concept?"

I raised my hands to surrender.

"Uhh... I don't know." I said as if that would make the state I was in better.

The girl frowned, and stretched her bow`s string to its fullest.

I was about to die.
