Chapter 44 - Nurgle

With its superluminal speed, the warship began to leave its original star system and appeared between several surrounding star systems.

These areas were all locations detected by probes, similar to the one encountered before; every planet that looked like a colony world was already enveloped by various Chaos energies.

From Noah's perspective, this was simply a pile of shit.

"What exactly happened? Why does it look like a pile of shit? What on earth happened to this universe!"

Watching one planet after another being enveloped by Chaos energy, then turning into a chaotic mix of colors, made Noah somewhat unable to comprehend or accept it.

He couldn't understand why the Warp here was so rampant, and why this shit-like energy kept gushing out like a tide.

All of this made him feel how unfamiliar he was with this universe, and at the same time, he felt immense anger; he saw human citizens suffering.

This anger even reached its peak when he passed the 13th star system.

What dared to cause so many human citizens to die all at once?

What dared to treat humanity like this?!

Massive psionics gathered in his hands, then he fiercely struck towards a planet.

The huge psionics lightning directly dispersed the Chaos energy enveloping the planet.

However, the final result was ineffective; after he dispersed all the Chaos energy on that planet, less than 10 minutes later, a massive amount of Chaos energy re-enveloped the planet.

Furthermore, a large number of daemons, a large number of Chaos Daemons, appeared on that planet.

What was the cause of this??

It was Nurgle.

In the Warp, Nurgle discovered an entity that could use psionics to disperse the energy enveloping the planet.

He saw Noah.

And Noah, who had just launched an attack, also felt that someone seemed to be peeking at him.

This made him frown; he already knew where the creature that dared to look at him came from, someone in the Warp was watching him.

The entity watching him was a powerful being; he began to take out a large amount of zelo from his small backpack.

The enemy was strong.

So strong that, at his current level, he was utterly unable to contend with the enemy.

But even if he died, he would make that Chaos God who dared to look at him pay the corresponding price.

A large amount of zelo was taken out of his spatial backpack.

And he himself went directly into the psionics Enhancement Chamber within the cruiser, preparing to use the cruiser's energy to confront the Chaos God who dared to look at him.

He was not afraid of death, but before he died, he would definitely make that Chaos God who dared to look at him pay the price.

He felt it; this was psionics no different from that on the planet just now.

In other words, on the planet he had just seen, all this Chaos energy was emitted by this Chaos God; he had killed an entire planet of humans!

Such an act was undoubtedly a blasphemy against the entire human race; he deserved to die!

Noah's Psionic Legion also began to gather their respective psionics on Noah, which made the aura emanating from Noah grow stronger and stronger.

Of course, it was mainly because Noah kept taking zelo out of his backpack.

Noah stood in the center of the psionics Amplification Chamber, the surrounding rune arrays flashing with dazzling blue light.

He took a deep breath, crushed the zelo crystal in his hand, and pure purple psionics surged into his body like a tide.

He could feel every inch of his skin burning, every nerve screaming—but all of this was overshadowed by anger.

One planet.

No, he didn't know how many planets he had seen enveloped by such Chaos energy along the way.

Such an act was making his anger escalate.

Now the opponent had actually taken the initiative to target him.

Even if he died, he would make that so-called Chaos God know what the wrath of humanity was like.

"Come on, you filthy bastard!" Noah roared at the peeking gaze in the void, his voice resonating through the Warp via psionic resonance.

In the distant depths of the Warp, Nurgle let out a low chuckle.

He had never seen such an interesting human—

Who dared to actively provoke a Chaos God.

With a gentle flick of his rotting finger, the greatest of the four gods began to prepare to enter the real universe through the Warp.

With the Eye of Terror already open, the Four Chaos Gods already had the ability to interfere with things in the real universe.

Suddenly, Noah felt a sickening energy permeating the barrier of the real universe.

The cruiser's dark energy shield automatically activated, preparing to withstand Nurgle's attack.

The dark energy matter deflection shield was the top technology of the Terran Federation; the dark energy shield was almost one of the top energy shields.

In addition to the dark matter energy shield being activated, a purple psionics shield was also activated.

A cruiser from the Terran Federation was preparing to directly withstand a frontal attack from Nurgle, one of the Four Chaos Gods.

Nurgle's continuously spreading power naturally also felt the defense from the dark matter deflection shield.

Nurgle's plump body, even his face, showed an interesting expression.

Immediately after, he bent his hands, and an attack of one-tenth of Nurgle's power directly rushed towards this cruiser.

The dark green Nurgle energy attack directly hit the dark matter shield, and the energy reading of the dark matter shield began to drop continuously.

Even with the dark matter core providing energy here, the energy consumption rate began to accelerate madly.

The psionics shield was even beginning to be corroded by Nurgle's divine power, but because this was the federation's psionics technology, Nurgle's divine power could not corrode this cruiser's shield in a short time.

Nurgle's speed, or rather its energy attack, was too fast, exceeding the cruiser's reaction speed, so the cruiser's main guns hadn't even had time to fire.

At this point, Noah, who had completed all his enhancements, no longer passively endured.

Instead, he gathered all his psionics and launched a fierce counterattack against Nurgle in the Warp.

A powerful psionics lightning bolt was thrown from his hand, then fiercely struck Nurgle, who was watching from the depths of the Warp.

The huge psionics lightning even charred Nurgle's thick body, and the power of the Chaos God could not immediately erase the damage caused this time; the psionics lightning continued to destroy Nurgle's body.

Green liquid flowed out from Nurgle's body; the damage was not great, but the meaning of ridicule could be said to be fully expressed.

But this was also the limit of what Noah could do; he was, after all, just a scientist, not a military expert skilled in combat.

He was just a defenseless scientist; how could a scientist compare with a Chaos God in terms of individual power?

Even if he received a large number of enhancements.

Noah's attack did not make Nurgle pay the corresponding price, but his attack did indeed cause damage to this Chaos God.

It could be said that the damage was not great, but the meaning of ridicule and insult was fully expressed, which made Nurgle somewhat frantic.

Nurgle's body trembled violently in the Warp, corrupted pus oozing from the wounds torn open by psionics lightning. His putrid face, which usually wore a loving father-like smile, was now twisted into a monstrous rage.

"Insect... How dare you... wound me?!"

His voice was no longer a low murmur, but a roar that swept through the entire Warp.

Countless Plague Daemons were born from his fury, only to be instantly vaporized into putrid blood by his wrath.

Nurgle's unusual reaction caught the attention of the other Four Chaos Gods. However, when they saw that Nurgle had actually been wounded by a human, all the Chaos Gods smiled, with a hint of mockery.

"Little Nurgle has become so weak after such a short time?" Slaanesh mocked Nurgle.

This only made Nurgle even more furious.

But besides the three of them, there was another golden giant sitting on a golden toilet who also witnessed this scene, and his gaze also fell upon Noah.

"A human!"

A human on a Terran Federation warship actually directly counterattacked Nurgle. I must stand up and watch this.

—Boom!!!

A torrent of dark green, a hundred times more terrifying than before, erupted from Nurgle's hand. He was now going all out, determined to utterly destroy Noah.

He wanted to drag Noah into his garden, then thoroughly corrupt him, to make this arrogant human understand what it meant to bow his head.

However, just as he made his move, a similarly powerful, pale white force blocked his attack.

The Emperor had intervened.

What had he just seen? He saw a pure-blooded human actually able to withstand Nurgle's attack, and even counterattack Nurgle. How shocking was this?

He must be protected, he must be protected.

Nurgle's attack, at only one-tenth of his power, was not only withstood by the human, but the human even counterattacked. This was simply defying the heavens.

The ability to withstand one-tenth of Nurgle's power was mainly due to the Terran Federation's Cyclic Technology.

After all, he was a scientist of the Terran Federation, and the cruiser he commanded had been enhanced by Cyclic Technology a full 600 times.

With 600 enhancements from Cyclic Technology, this was considered a powerful cruiser even within the Terran Federation.

Unlike stellaris in games, the Terran Federation's Cyclic Technology could continuously strengthen the performance and utilization rate of a specific material.

It could even directly achieve a reverse electricity meter effect: you put in one coin, and it spits out four or even more coins.

It could be said that the enhancement of Cyclic Technology directly defied the laws of the universe.

This was true military technology.

However, Noah currently had no way to use these military technologies.

After all, the authorization for military technology had not yet been cracked by him and remained locked.

Of course, that was a story for later, about manufacturing warships. For now, the Emperor and Nurgle once again erupted into a divine battle.

Such a powerful human, the Emperor would protect him even if it meant throwing out the Binding Legion.

After all, this was a guy who had directly clashed with Nurgle in the real universe.

Nurgle was blocked by the Emperor's power, and everything happening in the Warp was visible to Noah; he also saw it.

He saw a giant golden figure make a move to block that fat, green, blob-like entity.

And that golden giant, he had seen this entity in the Ecclesiarchy when he obtained control of an Imperial planet, an entity referred to as the Emperor.

The Ecclesiarchy preached that the Emperor was the Lord of humanity, and that he would protect humanity.

Although Noah scoffed at this propaganda, when he saw this golden giant actually come to his aid, Noah was deeply moved.

He performed a Terran Federation ritual specifically for deities towards the Emperor, then spoke to his cruiser AI.

"Activate the psionics shield, initiate psionics extension to erase our traces in the Warp. We're leaving now."

As he spoke, Noah took out a purple psionic cube from his hand. He reached out and opened an R-space rift, then forcefully threw the psionic cube into it, closing the rift immediately afterward.

Noah was currently no match for the Chaos Gods.

But if he wanted to run, he could still escape.

Especially with the Chaos Gods of the Warp already tied up by the Emperor.

As for that psionic cube, it was used to erase traces of existence.

That is to say, to eliminate the possibility of Nurgle being able to detect him.

To erase his data at the Warp level, to avoid continued prying from that detestable green Chaos God, Nurgle.

That's right, Noah couldn't use the Terran Federation's military technology.

He couldn't build these things.

But that didn't mean he didn't have military weapons from the Terran Federation in his pocket.

The warship directly performed an emergency jump, and as the psionic cube took effect, it also directly blocked the view that was looking at Noah.

Noah simply disappeared from Nurgle's sight.

Even the three Chaos Gods, Tzeentch, Slaanesh, and Khorne, directly lost sight of Noah.

Do not underestimate the psionics technology, one of the Terran Federation's ascension technologies!

When Noah's cruiser was completely erased from Warp perception by the psionic cube, the entire realm of Chaos fell into a brief silence.

Ignoring Nurgle, who was currently being beaten by the Emperor, Tzeentch's face showed an unexpected expression for the first time.

"Change, change is good. Everything is within the plan."

To be honest, Tzeentch was very interested in Noah's sudden disappearance.

But he still had to say that everything was within the plan.

Slaanesh only said one sentence:

"Such pure psionics. If only I could corrupt it and place it in the Realm of Pleasure."

Two of the Chaos Gods had expressed their views, and Khorne's attitude towards Noah was even more favorable.

A human, a tiny human, actually dared to actively attack Nurgle. How could such courage not make him feel admiration?

If Khorne hadn't tried, for some unknown reason, his power simply couldn't be bestowed upon Noah.

At this moment, he would have already bestowed his power upon Noah.

What a brave man, to actually go head-to-head with Nurgle.

Aside from the Four Chaos Gods, the Emperor, upon realizing Noah had disappeared from his sight, showed a look of relief on his face.

He couldn't always protect Noah as he was doing now. So, if Noah had his own means to escape the attention of the Chaos Gods, that would be even better.

That a human could directly confront the Chaos Gods filled him with joy.

Although the Emperor somewhat wanted Noah to help save his son.

After all, with such powerful strength, if he were to save Guilliman, he would definitely succeed.

At least to ensure that Drakoar could successfully reach the Ultima Segmentum.

However, the Emperor reconsidered. Noah's escape was good enough. As for his son... he would be fine; he would protect him.

As this thought settled, the pure psionics from Noah's ritual once again entered the Emperor's body.

The Emperor's previously withered body showed a faint improvement, and his gradually fading humanity solidified once more.

Unlike last time, this time the Emperor felt it.

He felt the change, and this change was what he craved.

The Emperor's gaze pierced through the Warp, looking at the spot where Noah had disappeared.

His eyes became more benevolent, or rather, more compassionate.
