when Derrick woke up he felt weak and tired, itching for rest. But at the same time he felt squished between this thick liquid. It quickly started to get clostrophobic as he couldn't breathe for some reason. so he tried moving only to realize he was trapped in a circular prison. "Have to get out of here!!!"
he began banging on was mysterious walls and once he heard cracks he began using all his might. these cracks have way to holes. When he broke open enough to where he could see, he finally got some fresh oxygen.
He saw one of the most beautiful sights of his life. A treetops littered his vision, large groups of birds flying around. The sun piercing through the leaves. With that he gathered his might and broke through his jail with a loud crack.
as he lay on the floor he noticed two things. He could see his mouth. Normally humans even with the greatest of overbites count do that. taking a look at his hand he saw that it was both scaly and chubby. "Ahhh" he screamed.
suddenly two hands almost engulfed his entire torso picking him up. looking he saw a woman with tears him her eyes "I'm here, don't worry. I'll always protect you" as she said this she pulled his head to her chest so he could rest on it. A great sense of ease had overtaken him, with no choice,Derrick resigned to his moments of sleep.
once he awoke he saw who he had assumed to be his mother and father. He was sleeping in between them and came to the conclusion that he was not human. His mother had deep blue scales with green eyes. His father was bigger, taking up almost half the bed and being fully red with yellow eyes.
they seemed to be in a discussion. " it is very important that he gets exposed to the other kids in the village." "it is also important that he spends more time with us" his father was very exited and wanted his son to be wall known amongst the next generation, his mother wanted more time with him. They decided to wait on it.
It had already been a few weeks and all he did was eat fish given to him and make baby noises that made his parents stop what they were doing to ogle at him. but one thing he hid notice was that early stage lizards grew faster than humans in this world.
eventually when his mother was roasting fish over the fire and his father was out working he decided to leave the bed. it took a lot but he had been moving his arms and legs as much as possible so that he wasn't immobile for too long. Eventually he was able to til himself over and crawled near the window.
looking out he saw similar trees with lizard people in them. between them he saw bridges connecting them. looking lower he saw lizard people in droves entering or exiting a bunch of homes made from wood or what seemed to be stores. it seemed to be a status symbol to live higher up. Was he some kind of Noble?
