Charles didn't insist any further. He had realized that this daughter of his was even more stubborn than he was.
Only after watching the car drive away did Sophie turn and head back into the apartment building.
"Sophie Davies!"
Sophie froze. She had just reached the entrance when someone suddenly called her name.
But she recognized the voice immediately…
Lara stepped out from around the corner and ran up behind her. "Sophie Davies, turn around and look at me! Why won't you turn around and face me?"
Sophie slowly turned. She saw Lara's flushed face. "Why are you here?"
Four years had passed, yet Lara looked almost the same as before—except now her hair was cut short, and she was holding some books in her hand. She still looked very much like a student.
If she was still studying, then she must have already ended her leave of absence and returned to classes at LSE.
