Azazeal watched his wife keenly.
She squared her shoulders and sent him a nod, replying to what he had said. Her eyes were a lot more distant than they had been when she woke up earlier.
He wondered what he could have done or said that had ticked her off again. He had been careful and polite enough to keep his distance and not do anything from last night that could have made her feel stupid, yet he had lost control of himself.
But it seemed she remembered what had happened between them last night and she was as displeased at the mere sight of him, like she had been the night before.
Breakfast was eaten with the more than grateful village and the overly clingy Adrain who refuses to leave Azazeal's lap throughout the meal.
They soon said their goodbyes and as he watched the green anticipated eyes of the toddler as the child waved goodbye.
Azawl's hands raised of their own accord to wave at the child, his chest was constricted in an unfamiliar way… he didn't like the feeling.
