"Please just bring the food to my room," Kelid said to Hela at the door of her room.
Hela nodded, confused. She walked down as Marcus sat there, wearing his new medieval-type clothes that at least looked normal in this era, cleaning his chestplate.
"So, what did she say?" Marcus asked.
"She wants food in her room itself. She barely even comes out of the room… I'm worried what's going on with her."
"Likely it's something she can't share. Maybe she has a bounty on her head."
"No, kid, bounties don't work like that," Hela replied before looking around. "Where are the others?"
"Dilek is in his room sleeping, and Nandita is outside. Diego's with her."
Hela looked outside. "It's the dead of the night though?"
She walked up the stairs, barging into Dilek's room. He was sleeping peacefully under the blanket. Hela went and pressed him up.
"Hey, wake up. Dilek, wake up!"
"Mmm… just five more hours…"
"Five more?, you might as well as wake up tomorrow, WAKE UP, IDIOT!" Hela shouted.
Dilek woke up instantly. "What is it???"
"Aren't you a leader? Go get your party members in. It's the dead of the night and not safe outside."
"I see…" he said, still feeling sleepy.
Hela pinched his thigh.
"WOAHHHH STOP STOP! I'll go, alright!"
Fully awake now, he got off his bed and stepped out of his room. He greeted Marcus, who kept his chestplate down.
"Should I come too?" Marcus asked.
Dilek said, "Nah… actually nevermind. Join me. I'm scared."
Marcus chuckled as he put the chestplate on the table and walked outside with Dilek.
"Brrrr, it's freezingggg," Dilek said as the cold wind blew past him. He and Marcus started walking toward the road.
"You know where those two went?" Dilek asked.
"They said they're going out for a walk," Marcus said.
"Midnight strolls, huh? Hate them. How come everyone likes it?" Dilek said, rubbing his arms to warm himself.
"Aren't those the reasons people get kidnapped?" Marcus asked.
"Well, I suppose. We're in a fantasy world—I mean, we'll most likely just get butchered at most."
"Wow… scary."
Dilek and Marcus continued walking until they reached the alleyway entrance where the beggars he'd helped last time were.
"Hold on," Dilek said. "Since we're on the way, should we go check on the people? The ones we helped that day?"
"I don't know, should we? Won't they be asleep?" Marcus asked.
"C'mon, we're just checking."
They turned right into the alleyway. Dilek heard muffled voices as he walked in on tiptoe, Marcus just walking normally. Dilek stopped.
"Tiptoe your way, Marcus," Dilek whispered.
"Why?"
"Just do it," Dilek said as he heard more noises.
'Mmmfmff…'
Dilek stopped. 'What are they doing in the dead of night? Don't these people already have children? I wonder what Marcus thinks of it…'
Marcus, not realizing what was going on, said, "Dilek… I think someone's getting kidnapped."
'How innocent,' Dilek thought as he sighed as he smiled. "Marcus, no one's getting kidnapped. You'll grow up someday—"
Marcus stopped and pointed behind Dilek.
Dilek turned to see two people holding a girl, covering her mouth with cloth. They froze.
Their four eyes met. The girl looked at Dilek and Marcus and panicked—
"MFMMFMFMFMFFFFFF!"
Her white hair swung wildly.
"Oh shit, someone is getting kidnapped, HEY SCUMBAGS! WHY DON'T YOU HAND OVER THE GIRL? I'LL LET YOU GO THEN!" Dilek shouted.
The man with the beard looked at him. "Let us go? Kid, YOU are getting kidnapped as wel—"
They noticed Marcus standing menacingly behind Dilek. The two men just dropped the girl and ran.
Dilek smirked. "HAH! Look at that, Marcus! They got scared of me!"
He went down and untied the girl. "You're with us, no—OWWWWW!"
The girl grabbed Dilek's hair and pulled, using her other hand to remove the cloth from her mouth—and bit his neck.
"OWWWWWUCHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHGHHHHHHGAGGGG!"
The bite tightened as Dilek tapped on the floor. "TIME OUT! TIME OUTTTTTT! GIVE IT A BREAKKKK! FEMALE TYSONNNNN! FOUL! FOUL! FOULLLLL!"
Marcus came forward, but the girl shouted, "STAY BACK OR I'LL BITE HARDER AND HE'LL DIE!"
Marcus stopped. They heard people waking up and rummaging around from Dilek's screams.
"Lady, we just saved you! We aren't a threat—we saved you!" Marcus said quickly.
"Saved me?" She looked around at the people getting out of their tents, then ran off while still holding Dilek. Marcus followed as they went a bit farther. She finally let go and said, "Explain yourself."
"EXPLAIN MYSELF? YOU EVIL WOMAN, YOU TORE MY HEAD OFF MY BODY! WE SAW YOU GETTING KIDNAPPED AND HELPED YOU! MAYBE WE SHOULDN'T HAVE!" Dilek grabbed his neck. "Aughh, disgusting—the saliva… aw man. Marcus, lemme wipe the saliva with your shirt."
She glared. "I wasn't asking you, baldie."
"BALDI—BALDIE??? WHO ARE YOU CALLING BALD?! I HAVE HAIR, CAN'T YOU SEE?"
Dilek pointed at his army cut. Marcus, looking from above, could see Dilek's balding spot but pretended not to.
"MARCUS! ERASE THIS GIRL!" Dilek shouted.
"Now, now, let's just hear what happened to her," Marcus said calmly.
She started her "sob story." "I was walking around in the dead of the night, taking a midnight stroll, when I saw poor people. My first instinct told me to steal from them."
"WOAH WOAH WOAH! YOU WENT FROM MIDNIGHT STROLLS TO STEALING FROM THE POOR? WHAT ARE YOU, ROBIN HOOD'S EVIL CLONE? AND BESIDES, HOW IS THIS A SOB STORY? THIS IS A SOB STORY FOR THE POOR PEOPLE!"
She continued, "Then two of them caught me and were about to sell me."
"Kind of deserved? Right?" Dilek looked at Marcus. Marcus shook his head slowly, so Dilek changed his tone. "Right—it was too much! They shouldn't do anything like this."
"Anyways, why are you stealing from the poor?"
"What else reason do you think? Money."
"Money? WE EARN MONEY BY DOING QUESTS! Don't stoop so low to steal from the poor."
"Oh yeah? You're gonna stop me?"
"Of course I will," Dilek said firmly.
Marcus added, "Uhm, lady—"
"Call me Ami," she interrupted.
"Ami… why don't you try doing quests at the guild? You can do one-star quests, I'm sure they can help. Our party member did the same thing."
"She? You guys have multiple people?"
"We do," Marcus smiled. "And if you're looking for a place to stay, you can come to the tavern we're staying at."
"For free?" Ami asked.
"Hell no," Dilek said. "We ain't doing charity. I'm not Robin Hood. I only support my party members."
"So what if I join you?" Ami asked.
Dilek looked at her. "We have an entrance fee."
"Dilek!" Marcus turned to him. "Why are you harrassing the poor girl?"
"'Poor,' huh? Good wording, Marcus," Dilek snickered.
Ami looked at Marcus. He realized he'd accidentally been rude. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that…"
"Ami," Dilek said, "look, you gotta show your qualifications. All you've done is bite me really hard on the neck, you wild dog."
"Dog? I'm pretty sure males have a fetish for this—especially saliva," she said.
Dilek looked at her in disgust. "Okay first, I don't want a girl to bite me, because it hurts—let alone rip off my neck and head apart from her mouth. Second, saliva is slimy, so no, I don't fetishize for it. Third—you're rejected."
"You aren't even the leader… Baldie."
"BALD—YOU SPEAK A LOT, YOU GOLD-HOARDING GOBLIN!" the two engaged in combat.
She twisted his hands. "OWOWOWOW TIME OUT, TIME OUTTT!"
He headbutted her in retaliation as she tripped back. "FULLBRIGHT!"
Marcus, hearing this, covered his eyes—but noticed Dilek didn't have a staff.
"Huh?" Marcus looked up just as Dilek's mouth opened wide—his eyes and mouth emitting blinding light.
Ami turned away, covering her eyes.
Dilek laughed, "HAHAHA—WAIT, SHIT! I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING EXCEPT THE BRIGHTNESS!"
Ami bit his neck again, keeping her eyes shut. Marcus sat in the corner, refusing to look.
"STOP ITTT, YOU DEMONNN!" Dilek shouted as she bit down on his shoulder. He turned off Fullbright, blinking—and saw his shirt half torn, Ami still biting his shoulder.
"S-Saint?" Diego's voice came from behind.
Dilek looked up to see Diego and Nandita staring, horrified.
Dilek looked down at his chest—Ami lying on top of him, still biting down.
Marcus looking away.
Nandita looking disgusted.
Diego looking embarrassed.
Getting executed publicly would be easier to explain at this point.
