Taichi, Sora, Izzy, T.K., and Kari trod over shattered metal plates, climbing toward the summit of Spiral Mountain.
Beneath their feet the urban ruins kept collapsing, dissolving into data and falling into the abyss—every step a gamble.
As they gained height, the air grew knife-cold.
The twisted City Domain had vanished, replaced by a boundless grey wasteland.
In the sky, great clots of eerie violet mist drifted, radiating ill omen.
Izzy stared at his laptop; data cascaded until it froze with a harsh beep on a blood-red warning.
"Warning! Massive dark-energy signature ahead!"
Izzy's voice shook. "The scale exceeds Machinedramon's… I hypothesize we've reached the Dark Masters' final stronghold!"

Taiki Kudo frowned. "So it's finally the last leg."
From the Xros Loader, Shoutmon could barely contain himself. "Final boss time! Just saying it fires you up! Go, Tai!"
Akari clasped her hands, worried. "But that reading is terrifying…"
Zenjirou pushed his glasses. "Which implies the final enemy is the strongest of the four."

Ash clenched his fist, solemn. "That pressure… I can feel it even through the screen."
Electric sparks snapped on Pikachu's cheeks. "Pika!"
Brock analyzed calmly. "This environment is bad for them. That purple fog may be toxic or a debuff."
Misty hugged Togepi and whispered, "They just finished a brutal fight—and now an even stronger foe?"
As they advanced, a sharp, mocking laugh ripped the silence.
"Ke-ke-ke-ke…"
It bored into their bones; everyone shivered.
From the purple haze, a sultry silhouette stepped forth.
A beautiful face—eyes filled with malice and cruelty. Tattered black leather clung to her form; huge bat wings beat the air, lifting a chill wind.
LadyDevimon.
She flicked a black feather between pale fingers, elegance dripping into scorn as her gaze slid over the children and their partners.
"Lord Piedmon said I should entertain you before you meet him."
Her eyes flashed murder—
A single flick. The feather became a fan of killing blades shrieking through the air toward them.
"Look out!"
Tai roared.
"Agumon—digivolve!"
Evolution light surged; in a breath, Agumon became the orange colossus MetalGreymon!
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
MetalGreymon braced and took the volley on steel plating, sparks geysering—yet the impact still shoved him back, gouging twin trenches in the ground.
[02 World]
Davis slammed the desk. "Coward's ambush again?!"
Veemon hopped madly. "Fight fair, you creep!"
Ken's face tightened. "She's strong. Her speed and power are both elite."
BlackWarGreymon watched in silence, LadyDevimon's form reflected in his dark eyes.
[Tamers World]
Rika snorted, arms folded. "Trash mobs should act like trash. Less talk."
Renamon's eyes narrowed. "Heavy demonic miasma—she's no ordinary Ultimate."
Takato fretted. "MetalGreymon's pushed back… Tai's team just fought—are they winded?"
Henry nodded. "Bad pace. She's fresh—they're not."
Tai knew LadyDevimon was only the appetizer. The true terror—Piedmon—waited ahead.
They couldn't waste strength here—they had to reunite the team fast.
He decided on the spot, shouting to Sora, "Sora!"
"Take T.K. and Kari and find Matt, Joe, and Mimi—now!"
"We'll hold her! Bring everyone back!"
Sora glanced at the advancing demoness, then at Tai and Izzy's steady eyes—no hesitation.
"Leave it to me!"
"Biyomon—digivolve!"
A pink column speared upward; Biyomon became the blazing Birdramon.
"Let's go!"
Sora hauled T.K. and Kari up onto Birdramon's back. With a piercing cry, Birdramon beat her wings, soaring toward where the others had scattered.
[Reboot World]
Reboot Taichi nodded at the other Tai's call. "Correct choice. Split forces get picked off. Merge fast."
Reboot Agumon pumped a claw. "More friends, more power!"
Mimi bit her lip. "But leaving just Tai and Izzy—can they stall that monster?"
Palmon patted her with a vine. "Believe in them, Mimi."
[Cyber Sleuth World]
Kyouko Kuremi sipped her special coffee, lenses glinting. "Divide the field, secure the regroup. Classic—and effective."
Arata shoved both hands in his pockets. "Easy to say. The rear guard's walking into hell. Kid's got guts."
Nokia punched the air. "Go, Tai! Don't lose to that witch!"
LadyDevimon didn't pursue Birdramon.
Her task was to pin down the core fighters.
Her playful eyes returned to Tai and Izzy. "Touching camaraderie. Staying to die isn't smart, though."
Tai's gaze turned to steel. "Cut the chatter. Come on!"
Izzy raised his Digivice. "Tentomon—Mega evolve!"
Green datastreams wrapped Tentomon; a horned juggernaut burst forth—the armored titan MegaKabuterimon!
"Vrrrrm!"
Compound eyes locked on LadyDevimon, he roared a challenge.
At that moment, Kari's lingering holy power blossomed in Gatomon.
Bathed in sanctity, the small feline unfurled eight white wings.
Angewomon descended.
Her luminous wings blazed in the gloom; the holy staff thrummed with anti-evil force.
LadyDevimon's smile twisted crueler. "An angel? Perfect. My favorite… is clipping wings."
She clapped her hands—dark energy condensed like pitch.
"Two Ultimates? How naive."
"Blood Bats!"
She flung both arms; the darkness exploded into hundreds of shrieking crimson bats, a storm that fell to swallow MegaKabuterimon.
"Not happening!"
Izzy shouted, "MegaKabuterimon—Horn Buster!"
Lightning surged from his great horn—an enormous beam speared the bat-swarm head-on—
KRAK-BOOOM!
The energies collided and blossomed into a sky-filling blast; shockwaves peeled the ground like a rug.
[Savers World]
Marcus cracked his knuckles. "Now we're talking!"
Agumon S. yelled, "Nice one, MegaKabuterimon! Make 'em pay!"
Gallantmon Crimson Mode observed, calm. "Lightning into darkness—no innate edge. Izzy chose well: area vs. area to cancel the opening volley."
Alphamon's gaze shifted to Angewomon. "Her holy power is the demon's bane."
Craniummon scoffed. "If she can land it."
[On-screen]
As MegaKabuterimon grappled with the Blood Bats, Angewomon seized the opening.
Eight wings flashed—her body became a white blur, circling behind LadyDevimon.
Her Holy Rod gathered radiant light—she struck for the demon's exposed back—
LadyDevimon's lip curled in mockery.
Without turning, her body twisted at an impossible angle—Angewomon's blow skimmed air.
"Too slow, little angel."
Angewomon withdrew instantly to range, fingers drawing light to a bowstring.
"Celestial Arrow!"
A pure, holy shaft screamed for the target—
Reality kinked—LadyDevimon flickered out of existence.
"What?!" Angewomon's pupils shrank.
A killing chill bloomed at her back.
LadyDevimon phased in like a ghost, grin triumphant. "Game over."
Her darkness-charged palm slammed between Angewomon's wings.
THUD!
Angewomon cried out, her wings dimming; she tumbled like a cut kite and smashed into cold metal.
"Angewomon!" Tai's shout tore his throat.
"Bastard!"
MetalGreymon swung his guns—chest hatches irised open, annihilation gathering.
"Giga Destroyer!" (aka Giga Blaster)
Twin missiles howled toward LadyDevimon—
She only sneered.
Purple-black miasma wound her razor talons.
"Poison Claw!" (text: Fallen Bone Claw)
SKREEE—!
She met the missiles with her claws, ripping the warheads apart. The detonation rolled over her—harmless.
She slipped through the smoke, blink-stepped to MetalGreymon and raked a shoulder—
CRRACK!
Armor shredded; shards and data spattered the air.

Jesmon's sensors wailed. "Target's combat technique and reaction exceed normal Ultimate—borderline Mega."
Alphamon (tri) rumbled, "Not mere speed—short-range space hops. Vexing."
Gennai (tri) lost his usual levity. "Piedmon's handpicked guard, as expected."
tri-Taichi clenched his fists, breath tight at the sight of Angewomon down and MetalGreymon wounded.
[Frontier World]
Takuya scowled. "Damn it—she's too strong!"
A shadow of Agunimon flared behind him. "Her method is deceitful as flame-wind."
Kouji analyzed coolly. "Light is being outplayed—not out-leveled. It's experience and hax ability."
Zoe Orimoto pressed her hands together. "Angewomon… get up!"
MegaKabuterimon saw his allies falling. Rage flared crimson in his compound eyes.
He abandoned range, wings flaring—his mountain of a body dove like a boulder.
All power focused into his hardest weapon—the massive horn—he slammed for LadyDevimon!
The hit was brutally simple—brutally fast.
LadyDevimon hadn't expected the direct line; she staggered, skidding back several steps.
Not a decisive wound—but humiliation stoked her fury.
"Presumptuous bug!"
Darkness detonated off her frame. "Die!"
A black hail of razor feathers erupted from her back, a lethal rain blanketing the field.
At that instant—
On the ground, Angewomon forced herself upright despite the burning in her spine.
She raised her face; in her eyes burned unbending will.
She gathered every drop of holy power—nothing held back.
Her eight wings blazed, driving the darkness from the plain.
A solemn, sacred voice rang across the wastes.
"Holy Cross!"
Above, a colossal golden cross manifested and fell with the weight of judgment—pinning LadyDevimon mid-cast, nowhere to run.
"AAAAAAAH—!"
Her scream wasn't human. Sanctity ate through her like acid through black ice—body collapsing and melting at once—
With one last, spiteful shriek, she broke apart into a storm of black data and was gone.
