Violet
The streets shifted as we moved deeper.
Near Aris' home, the buildings had been mostly residential. Two or three stories made of smooth earthen walls with crystals glowing steadily near doorways and windows. Here, everything was larger, taller, and shaped strangely. More structures rose like pillars, some of them stretching all the way to the cavern ceiling far above.
The crystals changed too.
Some areas glowed with warm amber light, casting everything in tones of honey and gold. Others pulsed with pale white, almost clinical in their brightness. And as we turned down one winding street, the light shifted to a soft, eerie green that made the shadows seem deeper.
I tried to memorize the paths we were taking, but it was impossible.
