"Hey? Wake up! Come on Rex?! Its just past five." A feminine voice boomed in the atmosphere.
"Huh.." a guy with dark hair muttered as he lay on the bed. Beside him was a pink haired girl holding two discs in her right hand and a remote control in the other hand.
"What?" He muttered wearily. It was obvious that this guy hadn't had a decent sleep for some time.
"Come on. Today is the Anime quiz. You can't be serious about forgetting what today is." She yelled at me.
Wait. Sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Rex Luie. I've been watching every series of anime. I'm some kind of addict to anime. As a guy of twenty eight years, I ought to be working in some sort of store but I ended up gluing my butt on a chair watching anime series everyday.
Actually the lady beside me is Yero San. I pretty good friend of mine. She was actually the person who introduced me into anime.
Yah crazy right. You don't often see girls pushing in guys to watch anime. She should have been campaigning for barbie or something like Sofia the first.
But she changed my life with anime. Bringing close to anime changed me a lot. I really don't know if that change was good but I seem fine with it.
In some way, I manage to eat. That's all thanks to Yero. She brings me food from time to time knowing that I don't work or go to school. Damn my life is lame but well I love it.
Well today, November 4th 2030, is the first Anime Celebration. A kind of festival that specially gathers to honor anime series and most of all acknowledge top fans.
Well among all the activities, the most prestigious event is to be the Anime quiz. Anyone fan who is able to answer a number questions from the anime producers gets a reward.
And I'm after this prize. I've dedicated eight years to anime. That ought to pay. I'm wish to be recognised by the anime producers that way I would be able to convince people that my time with anime wasn't a waste.
"Oh. Sorry. I kinda slept off." I muttered as I noticed Yero's glare.
"You have to win that prize. Here. It's remaining two anime episodes of Solo Leveling and you would be done with every anime ever created." Yero said and shoved the two discs into my hands.
"Wait. Aren't you gonna watch with me?" I asked cluelessly. She shrugged lightly.
"Dude. Did you forget that my mum is supposed to meet me today. I haven't seen her for a damn good number of years and this is the only chance I've got to see her. Dude..." she muttered and exhaled.
"Sorry. I guess I forgot." I muttered lightly as I regretted ever forgetting.
"You forgot! Damn! Well anyway. I wish you luck. You've got to be fast. The festival will start by nine. Those episodes wouldn't more than hour. Good luck." She said sweetly and left my room. Then I heard a click and she was out of my apartment.
"Whoosh! Let's begin..."
I watched the last two episodes of Solo leveling taking notice and savouring every moment. Truth be told I didn't love the hook there.
Why pause the anime for how many years with such a hook? This was why it was my last anime to watch. Yero had advised me to do so. Thanks to her I was saved from a heartburn.
I dressed up pretty fast and headed for Tokyo. The centre of anime life. Most anime series centered around Tokyo; Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Revengers, M.H.A, and so many others. Owh. Let's not forget Solo leveling.
I pulled up a cab and the next moment I was at Tokyo City. I simply went straight to the biggest stadium in Tokyo; the Venue of the Anime Celebration.
Taking a seat in front , I tried to make myself at ease. I was beginning to get nervous. I really didn't know why but then I caught the hook.
The hall was close to empty. Only a few people were around. They didn't seem like they came for a kind of festival. They dressed cooperate.
I looked around and noticed I was the only one that had actually taken a seat for viewers.
At that moment I didn't know whether I wanted to scream or die. All I felt was a hollow hole in my chest. I felt my blood pumping with full force. My heart beat raced.
All my efforts was going down the drain. Had Yero tricked me? She had set this up. That was why she didn't come. Oh wait...
It was then that I noticed blood dripping from my chest...
What.... How.. Who...
I thought I was speaking but I was thinking and probably I would thought this was a nightmare but it was not.
"Pass my greetings." I thought I heard a feminine voice or perhaps I did hear a feminine voice.
Damn. I can't really tell. I was probably dying off. I guess that was why I couldn't think straight. Next thing I knew, my vision was blacked out. I had died.
Then....
"Get the Hunters!!! He's dying. We have to save him!!"
I guessed I had made it to heaven or hell.
