Chapter 60 - Rainstorm Frenzy

The Seeland High School campus was shrouded in dark clouds. The broadcast station continuously announced the imminent landfall of a typhoon, predicting heavy rain.

Liu Miaomiao stood at the entrance of the teaching building. Seeing Chu Zihang alone not far away, she hesitated for a moment, then bravely walked over.

"Chu Zihang, there's a typhoon warning today. Is anyone picking you up? Do you want my driver to take you home with me?" Liu Miaomiao's voice trembled slightly.

Chu Zihang looked up at the overcast sky. "No need. I still have cleanup duty to finish."

"Oh, alright." Liu Miaomiao was very disappointed, feeling like she had missed an opportunity. However, she still reminded him, "Then remember to be careful. The rain tonight will be very heavy."

"Thank you."

Just then, a black BMW slowly drove up to the school gate. It was Liu Miaomiao's driver coming to pick her up.

Liu Miaomiao waved goodbye to Chu Zihang and got into the car.

Lu Mingfei happened to be exiting the classroom and saw this, rushing forward quickly.

"Um... Liu Miaomiao, I'm not doing anything, could you..."

"Sorry, our homes aren't on the way," Liu Miaomiao shut the car door directly.

The BMW drove away, leaving Lu Mingfei standing there with a hand outstretched.

'But your house isn't on the way to Chu Zihang's either,' he sighed after a moment of stunned silence, put his backpack over his head, and ran into the heavy rain.

On the other side of the campus, Ian and Zeke stood under a tree by the roadside. Rainwater would instantly disappear as it approached them.

"That poor boy really is unlucky," Zeke couldn't help but sigh, watching Lu Mingfei run off.

"He certainly is unlucky. I wonder if he was written while watching Ah-Shuai," Ian agreed.

Still, Zeke decided to help him out. A bolt of Spiritual Power shot into Lu Mingfei's body, which, while unable to ward off the rain, would ensure he wouldn't catch a cold.

The heavy rain had escalated into a downpour. Chu Zihang stood at the teaching building entrance, looking towards the school gate, seemingly waiting for something.

"Beep-beep—"

A black Maybach slowly drove up and stopped at the school gate. The car door opened, and Chu Tianjiao, holding two umbrellas, quickly ran toward Chu Zihang.

"Son! Did you get wet? This damn weather is so annoying!" Chu Tianjiao handed an umbrella to Chu Zihang.

Chu Zihang was expressionless. He simply walked straight toward the car door, ignoring Chu Tianjiao's enthusiasm. He habitually reached for the back door but inexplicably changed his mind and opened the front passenger door instead.

Meanwhile, Ian and Zeke concealed their forms and silently sat down in the back seat of the Maybach.

"How come you're sitting in the front today?" Chu Tianjiao was genuinely surprised to see Chu Zihang in the passenger seat.

Chu Zihang fastened his seatbelt. "The passenger seat is just closer to me."

The atmosphere fell silent, but that was no problem for Chu Tianjiao. He could always find a topic, though most of the time he was talking to himself.

"Do you know how awesome this car is?" Chu Tianjiao bragged to Chu Zihang while driving. "This is a limited edition Maybach, worth millions, and it's a global limited edition!"

Chu Zihang looked out the window, watching the raindrops slide down the glass, and did not reply to Chu Tianjiao. However, Chu Tianjiao was not discouraged and continued to force conversation with Chu Zihang.

'Damn, this atmosphere is a bit awkward,' Zeke transmitted to Ian.

'Perhaps you'll understand when you become a father yourself, Zeke.'

The car drove onto the main road. Only numerous brake lights were visible ahead; the road itself was obscured.

"I can't believe this terrible weather, such a traffic jam."

"But it's okay, son. Today, I'll show you your dad's driving skills."

He then abruptly turned the steering wheel and slammed on the accelerator. The Maybach weaved through the gaps between vehicles like a nimble dragon, then turned onto an empty elevated road.

This was Elevated Road Zero.

Ian and Zeke exchanged a glance. 'Looks like the famous scene from the Dragon Raja world is about to happen.'

The car sped forward. Chu Zihang frowned, sensing something was wrong. He looked at the empty view outside the window and wondered why, with traffic so heavy everywhere else, there was not a single car on this elevated road.

Due to the distance between father and son, he did not voice his question to Chu Tianjiao, but merely kept the doubt to himself, planning to look up information later.

As the car drove at high speed, the rain crashed against the window, making a loud drumming sound. The rain grew heavier.

Chu Zihang suddenly worried, wondering if Lu Mingfei had gotten home safely.

Suddenly, the sound of tapping on the window interrupted his thoughts. Chu Zihang was startled, as he distinctly remembered they were the only car on the highway. Furthermore, the Maybach hadn't slowed down, so how could there be a tapping sound outside a high-speed car? Chu Zihang leaned against the window but saw nothing. He then thought to open the window to check.

Sensing something amiss, Chu Tianjiao's expression turned serious. He quickly reached out and stopped Chu Zihang's action.

As Chu Zihang was restrained, the tapping and roaring sounds from outside the window grew louder and louder. Countless golden light points flickered outside.

Chu Tianjiao's expression turned frigid. Dragon Blood began to surge within him, and his eyes gradually transformed into a pair of golden vertical pupils, like a wild beast. He fumbled beside his seat and pulled out a long knife, just about to thrust it towards the car door when a hand firmly grabbed it.

Chu Tianjiao snapped his head around to look behind him. The hand had reached out from the back seat.

Then, the figures in the back seat revealed themselves. Ian and Zeke were looking at him with smiles.

Chu Tianjiao sighed slightly in relief, seeing that the occupants were human, but still raised the knife and asked, "Who are you two? When did you get in the car?" Chu Tianjiao suspected they were also half-bloods, and the fact that he hadn't noticed them might be due to a word of power, 'Meditation.'

Zeke chuckled. "Don't be nervous. We mean no harm. As for why we're in the car? We're here to see a friend."

Chu Tianjiao turned to Chu Zihang and asked, "Your friend?" Chu Zihang shook his head, looking confused. "No."

Just then, the car stereo suddenly blared, "Don't bother thinking about it. They are my friends! I am Maybach." This was accompanied by two crisp honks of the horn.

The expressions on Chu Tianjiao and Chu Zihang's faces instantly froze.

Chu Tianjiao's voice then turned serious. "Who are you? How did you hack into my Maybach?"

Maybach controlled the voice system to reply, "No hacking. I am a mechanical life form. Have you seen Transformers?"

"Hey, stop chatting! There are still so many monsters outside the window!" Chu Zihang couldn't help but interrupt, watching them continue their discussion.

In truth, continuing the conversation was fine, as the Maybach had been reinforced. A few Death Servants couldn't break through immediately.

"Haha, it's alright. You guys continue your discussion. Zeke, let's go out and take care of these little bugs first," Ian said, directly opening the car door.

He then casually took the long knife from Chu Tianjiao and swung it outward.

This expensive alchemical blade shattered instantly as it was swung, breaking into countless fragments.

Each fragment then precisely struck the head of a Death Servant.

"Holy cow, awesome! Wait! My knife!"

"The quality of this knife is terrible. It broke before I even used any force. It's not even as good as the wooden sword I synthesized on a whim," Ian couldn't help but complain. He then jumped out of the car, standing on the elevated road covered in Death Servant corpses.

The Shadow Power on his body spread downward, rapidly covering every Death Servant corpse and enveloping them.

Then, Ian's low, majestic voice came through, "Arise!"

The moment the words fell, black flames began to flicker on the surface of the corpses scattered across the ground. Then, black figures rose from the bodies. Their originally golden eyes now burned with eerie blue flames, hollow and cold.

"Roar... Hail, My King!" A low growl came from the mouths of the Shadow Death Servants. They all knelt on one knee, awaiting their Monarch's command.
