Chapter 84 - Demon Soul

"Deliveryman?"

"What's a deliveryman? I'm a noble mage, you bastard!"

Unfortunately, Rhonin had no chance to retort. He was knocked unconscious by a spell. Although not in danger, he couldn't perceive what would happen next.

The next second, Arthas appeared outside the sealed barrier via a blink.

The magical barrier, which even the red dragon queen couldn't breach, was completely ignored!

This was the Guardian's basic divine skill, Blink!

It not only allowed for short-distance, single-person teleportation with very low mana consumption, but as the skill level increased, the blink distance grew longer, and the mana cost became even lower.

This scene even surprised the red dragon queen Alexstrasza, who had been feigning sleep with narrowed eyes. She couldn't imagine that this temporary mate possessed such an ability.

And she vaguely sensed something: the demon soul seemed to have no effect on him!

Otherwise, how could Arthas, a former dragon slave, turn the tables and become the queen's dragon knight?

In her prime, the red dragon queen could easily crush Arthas. Even with the aura buff, he would only be able to parry, with no power to counterattack.

Now, weakened by the demon soul, she was suppressed. It was like the table was too slippery, and she couldn't defeat Ip Man.

Arthas picked up the badge, saw the gem on it, and pried it off.

This gem was very special, incredibly sturdy, and contained unique energy. Within it, one could even feel a Guardian's power from the Titans.

He picked up the gem, put it into his backpack, and after the blink cooldown was over, he blinked back into the cell.

Besides the red dragon queen, no one would know he had left.

At this moment, a grave gaze fell upon him, Alexstrasza's eyes filled with sharp insight.

"Who exactly are you?"

"Asaz!"

Arthas blinked, his expression utterly innocent.

"Hmph, no red dragon is unaffected by the demon soul. red dragons all have some residual Guardian power on them."

"As long as there is Guardian power, they will be affected by the demon soul. You are not a red dragon at all. Who exactly are you?!"

"Unless you are a black dragon!"

Alexstrasza knew this very well, because the demon soul did not contain Deathwing's Guardian power, so it had no restrictive effect on black dragons.

The thought of laying dragon eggs with a black dragon truly infuriated her; she even wanted to kill this bastard dragon!

"Don't talk nonsense. A night's couple, a hundred nights' grace. I am a genuine red dragon. Otherwise, why are the dragon eggs red and not black or other colors?"

Arthas wouldn't admit it. He couldn't reveal his true identity; an unseen force restrained him.

This was also why Alexstrasza hadn't attacked. She only asked because he was unaffected by the demon soul.

It was truly unbelievable, and she didn't know what to say.

This mystery, even after living for so long, she couldn't figure out what was going on.

Just then, footsteps approached from outside.

Arthas lay back down, pretending to doze off, and incidentally pressed her down as well.

"I will rescue you and also deal with the demon soul, so just watch the show."

Watch the show?

In such an unclear situation, how could she possibly watch the show, or even be able to watch it!

Soon, the orc Warlock Nekros arrived with a small squad and saw the unconscious Rhonin.

A nearby goblin quickly stepped forward, secretly hiding the black dragon badge, then also found a few gold coins, biting them with his teeth.

"Good stuff!"

Arthas watched the goblin act. Knowing goblins were greedy, this scene would effectively dispel Nekros' doubts.

Indeed, Nekros glanced at him, frowned slightly, but said nothing.

"Tie up the intruder and interrogate him thoroughly. Ask him who he is and what he's doing here!"

The goblin Kriel grinned sinisterly, put away the gold coins, and displayed his greedy nature for all to see.

"I already said he was a scout sent by the humans, just to figure out the situation so the Alliance could attack."

"If it weren't for those mages, why do you think he could pass through that big guy?"

He was referring to the Fire Elemental Giant guarding the passage.

Nekros frowned deeply. He was reluctant to admit it, but Grim Batol was no longer a viable place to stay.

Even with his mediocre military understanding, Grim Batol was not a good stronghold to defend.

The main reason was the lack of other exits. Once trapped inside, without water and food,

They wouldn't even need the Alliance army to intervene; they would start fighting among themselves due to food shortages. No one wanted to die, so they would just have to steal from others.

After all, that's how the orcs always operated: if they didn't have it, they'd steal it; if they stole it, they profited.

"Pack up. We'll prepare to move in two days, taking those two red dragons and their dragon eggs with us. These are the clan's future dragon Riders; there can be no mistakes."

Nekros decided to move. Grim Batol was sturdy, but not the best choice.

They would retreat into the mountains. orcs were skilled at living in the mountains, and with a retreat route, they could contend with the Alliance army.

Moreover, Nekros was certain that the Alliance army wouldn't be too large and wouldn't persist for too long.

The northern front was the main theater of war, where the main Horde forces were located. The Alliance couldn't possibly send a large army to besiege the Dragonmaw Clan.

As long as the number of invading troops wasn't too high, they only needed to retreat. There was no need to fight to the death, as losing orcs was a precious cost.

None of this was hidden from Arthas, so this plan was overheard.

They weren't very serious about interrogating Rhonin. Nekros only came to confirm if there was an intruder, and once confirmed, it would prompt his migration plans.

There were still many things to handle, so it wasn't long before only the goblin Kriel and Rhonin remained.

Seeing that no one else was around, Kriel took out the badge, surprised to find the gem still inside. He then dug it out and put it away.

Seeing Rhonin covered in whip marks, he broke into a wide grin.

"Oh, hello, human. Time is money, my friend!"

"Aren't you that goblin from the port?"

Rhonin was a bit dazed, the pain in his body making him unable to speak.

"Heh heh, I should thank you! You brought such an important item here."

Kriel showed off the gem, then carefully put it away.

"This is a gem made from that damned black dragon's reverse scale, transformed and refined by magic. Possessing this gem is equivalent to possessing a portion of Deathwing's power!"

After saying that, he tossed the badge aside and sneered.

"Without the gem's function, this badge can't control people, nor can it knock people out, hehehe."
