Chapter 78 - Captured

"No! It's the demon soul! Come back quickly!"

No sooner had Alexstrasza finished speaking than she watched in despair as her mate flew into a rage, leaping up to attack the orc Warlock holding the demon soul.

"Ant! How dare you use this filthy artifact? Die! Face the wrath of the dragon, and repent in the flames!"

Talanisstasza leaped up, and the energy he had accumulated for a long time underwent a qualitative change in his throat, erupting as a stream of extreme heat at five thousand degrees.

Before the dragon's breath even touched them, the orcs' weapons had already liquefied from the high temperature, scalding the orcs and making them scream.

Only the leading orc Warlock sneered, picking up the demon soul and aiming it at Talanisstasza.

"You don't know what power is, dragon! You will be the first dragon I kill, and you won't be the last!"

Pfft!

The beam of light emitted by the demon soul collided with the scorching dragon's breath. The high-temperature dragon's breath, upon contact with the light beam, scattered and melted away like snowflakes meeting boiling water.

The light beam's speed wasn't fast, but in Talanisstasza's eyes, it had him firmly locked. The closer it got to the demon soul, the weaker he became.

He watched helplessly as the light beam pierced his head, and the flame of his life soul instantly extinguished.

"Is this the power of the demon soul? No wonder Sindragosa couldn't stop it!"

In his final moments, a scene flashed through his mind: the blue dragon queen being sent flying tens of thousands of miles by the demon soul. Even then, he had felt a tremor from his soul.

Your Majesty, please forgive me for being unable to protect you anymore.

Boom!

His massive body crashed down, stirring up a huge cloud of dust. For a moment, the battlefield was filled with flying ash, obstructing even vision.

At this moment, a dragon unaffected by the demon soul seized the opportunity to swoop past, his small hand not-so-cleanly patting the old dragon's corpse.

The massive corpse instantly vanished, and only the body of an elderly red dragon appeared in his backpack.

This was an immense fortune; if it could be dissected, everything from its scales, blood, to flesh, sinews, and bones could be sold for a lot of money.

Furthermore, the enchantment bonus of dragon blood could light up the option to increase his attack power at the blacksmith's shop.

This dragon was Arthas!

He was originally human, merely temporarily transformed into a red dragon due to the Law of Time, and thus unaffected by the demon soul.

"No!"

For a moment, Alexstrasza was enraged. She actually ordered The Legion to launch a surprise attack, determined to slay the orc Warlock who had murdered her mate, even if it meant sacrificing everything!

As long as he was killed, the demon soul would be hers.

Countless red dragons, at the dragon queen's call, launched an attack on the orcs despite their extreme weakness.

But Nekros, the Warlock who had tasted the sweetness of killing a dragon, grinned ferociously, controlling the demon soul to continuously fire beams of light, sending all the red dragons who charged forward flying.

Some lost their lives and fell to the ground, while others were sent flying hundreds of miles away, their fates unknown.

The massive red dragonflight was slaughtered by more than half within a mere ten minutes, prompting the red dragon queen to personally intervene.

But alas, the demon soul contained the power of the dragon Aspects, giving it unparalleled restraint over even her.

Nekros had no intention of killing the dragon queen; instead, he planned to imprison her and use her life to threaten the red dragons into helping the Horde conquer the Alliance.

Once this plan succeeded, he would be able to replace the current chieftain and become the Warchief of the Horde, transforming from an obscure clan orc into a figure of unparalleled glory.

By then, even the proudest and most valiant female orcs would meekly bow their heads and bear offspring for him, whom they had once disdained.

As soon as he thought of this, Nekros couldn't help but let out a sinister laugh, trembling with excitement.

The beam of light pierced Alexstrasza's wings, and she fell from the sky, stirring up a cloud of dust.

When she tried to get up, the demon soul was already before her. The uncontrollable weakness made her unable to rise, and she could only watch the tiny crawling insect flaunt its power before her.

If the fury in her eyes could materialize, it would have long ago incinerated this orc Warlock until not even dust remained.

Alas, she could only rage ineffectually, unable to do anything.

"Hehehe, Your Majesty, red dragon queen, you are now my prisoner. If you don't want all the red dragons to die, make them stop."

Nekros wanted to kill her, but it wasn't the right time. Even enslavement required method.

Alexstrasza closed her eyes, not wanting to look at the orc Warlock.

But seeing that the dragon queen was uncooperative, he manipulated the demon soul to unleash a massacre. red dragons constantly screamed and fell from the sky.

Those were her kin, and her offspring!

She gritted her silver teeth. To prevent the red dragonflight from dying out, she could only hum a sound.

"Everyone, stop."

Despite their reluctance, the red dragons obediently ceased their attack. No matter how much they resisted, they couldn't contend with Nekros, who possessed the demon soul, nor could they rescue their dragon queen.

"Very good, Your Majesty. Please come with us. For you, we have specially built a huge room for your use."

Nekros was ecstatic. This was the red dragon queen!

As long as she was imprisoned and forced to lay more dragon eggs, the hatchlings would be the easiest to train. By then, the Dragonmaw Clan would surely become the most powerful clan in the Horde.

And they would also possess unique dragon Riders!

Would those damned dwarf Gryphons still be a match?

Heh heh, these dragons could swallow a Gryphon in one gulp. Without air power, how could the Alliance contend with the Horde?

He, Nekros, would be the Warchief who would lead the Horde to rise again and rule this fertile continent!

Alexstrasza closed her eyes, unwilling to speak.

At this moment, only one adult dragon stepped forward, stating that as long as their dragon queen was not harmed, they could assist the orcs in battle.

During this time, Alexstrasza did not say a word. The closer she got to the demon soul, the more her stamina seemed to be drained. She now had no strength at all, couldn't even crawl, let alone travel.

A red dragon she had never seen before came over. After saying something to Nekros, he then came to carry her.

"Your Majesty, I will carry you."

Arthas had actually intended to launch a surprise attack just now, but his eyelids twitched violently, and even he felt that the demon soul posed an incredibly powerful threat.

He even thought that if he wasn't careful, he might die.

After careful consideration, he could only bide his time and wait for a suitable opportunity.

Alexstrasza glanced at him with some surprise. As the dragon queen, she didn't seem to have seen this red dragon before, which was very strange, because no matter how many offspring she had, she could clearly recognize every red dragon.

Not every red dragon was her offspring; descendants of other ancient dragons would also join the red dragonflight, but she knew all of them.
