Chapter 61 - Dalaran

It's nothing. It's just a High Priest who, facing the undead Scourge, couldn't save her relatives or her people with the Holy Light Spell, making her even more desperate.

Former faith requires believers to feel convinced before they continue to believe.

Arthas didn't know what faith was. He was an atheist, or perhaps he believed he would become a god himself!

Would a god still believe in a god?

Isn't that ridiculous!

Conversely, whether it's the Holy Light Spell, Fel, Shadow, or other forces, they are just forces and do not require faith.

As long as one believes in their heart, there will be Holy Light Spell. The Holy Light Spell doesn't need faith, only self-belief.

However, no one currently knows this, nor do they know that even if one is undead, as long as they are convinced in their heart that they are righteous, they can still use the Holy Light Spell.

"That sounds truly tragic. I hope she can recover."

Arthas shrugged, unable to help with such matters.

"Yes, I just hope she gets better soon."

Jaina sighed helplessly. Since leaving Dalaran to gain experience, she had been through too much.

She had seen villages perish due to the plague, and witnessed loved ones turn into hostile undead. All these joys and sorrows had a tremendous impact on her heart.

Most importantly, the reunion with her lover and the rekindling of their romance was more significant than anything else.

Through the battles along the way, she had grown a lot and found much happiness, mixed with an indescribable heart palpitation, jealousy, envy, and contentment.

After getting married, she might give her beloved many, many children, becoming a happy wife and a good mother.

Three days later.

The group returned to Tirisfal Glades.

Once the high elf refugees settled there, the long-awaited rewards were also received.

elf's Lament Quest Completed, Camp System Upgraded.

Multi-Race (1) Completed, high elf Tech Tree Added.

Just as Arthas was about to check the camp system, a sudden commotion came from outside.

Looking up, it was his sister, Calia, who had arrived.

Her delicate face was travel-worn, and her priest's robe had dried bloodstains.

She was escorted by Uther, commander of the Silver Hand, whose armor was tattered, and who bore several horrifying deep claw marks.

Bridget was also escorting them, and she was in no better state, with bloodstains on her exquisite face, showing how fierce the battle was that there was no time to even wipe it off.

Calia fainted as soon as she reached the camp.

Arthas quickly raised his hand and cast a Holy Light Spell to raise her health.

"Send the princess to the Town Hall to rest. Bridget, you go with her too."

Uther, propping up his weary body, knelt on one knee, his tired expression filled with immense grief and indignation.

"Prince Arthas, Lordaeron has been destroyed! His Majesty has died for the nation!"

"I failed to protect His Majesty and did not take this plague seriously. Please punish me, Prince Arthas."

What!

Jaina exclaimed, unable to believe it was true.

Derek walked out from behind her, one arm broken, his expression distraught, and he choked out,

"Jaina, Father also died in battle!"

Upon hearing of her father's death, Jaina nearly fainted.

It was Arthas who caught her, preventing her from falling to the ground, but the light in her bright eyes had vanished. The sudden news of a loved one's passing was an unimaginable blow to her.

She had not yet experienced the epic battle of Mount Hyjal, nor had she reached the point of being a 'great filial daughter,' so her heart naturally felt as if it were being torn apart.

"Marwyn, isolate the incoming soldiers outside, and dispatch priests for examination and treatment."

"You all come with me and tell me exactly what happened!"

Arthas' tone was heavy. He didn't have deep affection for his foster father, Terenas, but no one is made of wood and without feelings.

The other party had loved him as a son and groomed him as the crown prince, so he couldn't remain indifferent.

He was also very puzzled: why had Lordaeron fallen? What was the reason?

Just as they arrived at the Town Hall, Archmage Modera also teleported over, looking travel-worn and quite disheveled.

"Prince Arthas, Dalaran has fallen. It was destroyed by the undead who devastated Stromgarde, combined with the undead from Quel'Thalas."

"Archmage Antonidas has fallen, and only a few mages escaped."

After speaking, she also fainted. Having endured a major battle and forcibly casting a teleportation spell, the strain on her body was immense.

My God!

Another shocking piece of news, a chilling aura of decay spread.

He raised his hand and cast a Holy Light Spell to heal her, then waved his hand.

"Take the Archmage to rest. Uther, tell me, what is the situation in Lordaeron?"

Uther sank into deep self-reproach, his voice hoarse with a choke, as he recounted the events.

After Arthas went to Quel'Thalas, several plagues appeared in Lordaeron, but fortunately, they were forcibly suppressed.

Lords from various regions were extinguishing the undead within their territories, and Highlords went to Lordaeron to participate in an Alliance meeting.

That was when the Dwarves of Aerie Peak came for aid, saying that the undead had raided and destroyed their homeland. Despite fighting to the death, they still couldn't resist the tide-like undead.

Armies were dying every minute, and for every soldier who fell, the enemy's ranks gained an undead.

Furthermore, when those powerful beings died, they were resurrected as undead, and their combat power was not only undiminished but greatly strengthened.

With this ebb and flow, coupled with the Syndicate's coordination, Aerie Peak was breached.

After breaching Aerie Peak, this group of undead took a detour through the former Alterac Mountains to launch a surprise attack on Lordaeron.

Dalaran also dispatched mage units to defend. At this time, Lordaeron, apart from the southern army, still had 100,000 troops garrisoned in the capital.

These troops were prepared to be dispatched to the Eastweald region after clearing the undead within the territory, using Andorhal, Hearthglen, and Stratholme as strongholds to sweep away the undead.

Facing the aggressive undead, a battle was not impossible. Even if they couldn't win, they absolutely shouldn't have been breached.

But the problem was an inside traitor!

Duke Stromgarde, one of the four great families of Kul Tiras, betrayed them, killed members of the Lordaeron Mage Corps, and opened the magic barrier.

At the same time, the Cult of the Damned also took the opportunity to cause chaos, spreading the plague in the city and transforming civilians into ghouls.

All of this made Lordaeron precarious, but there were still many strong individuals inside, such as Grand Admiral Daelin, Stormwind representative Marshal Windsor, Dalaran Council Archmage Modera, and various Highlords, among others.

Together, they suppressed the rebellion in the city, executed the Cult of the Damned leader, and reactivated the magic barrier.

But no one expected that this was merely a feint by The Scourge to lure the tiger away from the mountain, gathering all the undead near Gilneas and merging them with the undead from Quel'Thalas.

In a combined assault, led by the former Dalaran Council Archmage, now the Lich Kel'Thuzad, with the Pit Lord Mannoroth's adjutant as the vanguard, they overwhelmed Dalaran.

The magic barrier of the City of Magic was useless in Kel'Thuzad's eyes. After dismantling the power core,

Dalaran, without magical support, was like an undefended widow.

They couldn't possibly expect these mages to wield staves and bash the undead, could they?

The endless undead assault completely submerged Dalaran!

High Councilor Antonidas also fell. Dalaran couldn't hold out for even a day and had already fallen before Lordaeron was destroyed.
