Chapter 116 - CH 116 Hurt and meaningless

Jang Han Seok was lying on one of the trees, feeling weak to his bones. His eyes were closed as he tried to relax and gain his strength again. But then cold air swept him, throwing him off guard, and he was falling. But before he could reach the ground, he was caught and a hard punch landed on his jaw, causing him to stagger backwards. Before he could think, he was grabbed again and multiple punches landed on his face. He had to disappear and appear a few distance away.

He lifted his eyes, and smirked when he saw it was Ryan. "You're here. At least warn me before you throw punches at me" he licked the blood away from his lips.

"Why?" Ryan demanded.

"Ah...just wanted you to see the possible harm you could cause on her. She's probably very scared of you now, but she hides it" Han Seok chuckled lightly.

"What if I had killed her? You would be happy then"

"Of course, of course. That's my sole aim. But you got yourself a strong woman. She doesn't want to die. Tsk!"

"Tell me, what is main reason why you want her dead?" Ryan asked, and he just smiled.

"I already told you. She's with you. And...she was supposed to die a long time ago. It was just that...you stopped it. Probably brought her back to life. If the demon in you should come out now, he would want to kill her"

Ryan had his brows creased. He was sure he has never met her before. So what was he saying?

"She's just refusing to die. Both then and now" he said.

"Do you hate me this much? That you want to take her away from me?"

"I hate you so bad, half breed. Because of you I am like this now. Why didn't you come on time? I begged for your help but you ignored me!"

"You weren't the only one needing help at that time. I couldn't be in two places at once. Anyway, you agreed to be like this"

"Haha" he chuckled devilishly. "I only needed to survive. That's what I'm doing now."

Ryan jaws clenched hard, and turned his head to the other side. His hands clenching. The rage growing within him caused his head to spin. He wanted to kill, again. He could feel his gums itch, his blood boil. And the fact that he can't do anything to save her because it happens in her dreams, caused him to go bloodlust. And now he too could be used to kill her. Just like today.

"You shouldn't be a coward and attack me now. I'm quite weak, you see" Han Seok told him, seeing he was fighting the urge to attack "Don't worry, she'll have a break for now. No nightmares. Nothing to worry about" he smirked and disappeared. Leaving Ryan standing there. Feeling emotions surging through him. Pain. Anger. Guilt. Sadness. They all filled him.

*...*...*...*

Throughout the day, he could barely see her. She was always with Zariel, and ignored him like he was nothing but plain air. He wondered if she could even eat, because the wounds he inflicted on her were deep and painful. It's quite surprising that she didn't pass out. He really wanted to see her, but Zariel won't let him. Sighing, he leapt from the ground onto his balcony. He didn't have that strength to climb the stairs. He felt so lonely and incomplete without her. The pain of not being with her was like burning in hell. Sigh...he's hurting badly.

Feeling so down and meaningless, Ryan heard water from the shower in his room. His eyes lit up a bit and he turned to walk inside. Damn! He's heart began to race in fear and nervousness again. She's here! He stood by the balcony door and waited for her to come out. He would apologize again. Even kneel and crawl on the floor if she won't listen to him. He had never done this before so he needed mental preparation.

'Ari, I'm sorry. I swear I didn't mean to hurt you. It was a mistake. And I promise it would never happen again. Please, don't leave me'

'Ari, please. I'm very sorry. I promise I won't keep things like this away from you. I would open up to you from now on. You can punish me however you like but please don't ignore me like this'

Ah...this is so hard. How is he going to beg today? The door opened and came out. Immediately he saw her, the little preparation he made flew out the window. Leaving with nothing. She walked in while drying her hair with the towel, ignoring him like a ghost she couldn't see. He just stood there, watching her with his heart in his throat. She walked to the vanity table and sat in front of it. Taking the dryer, she dried her hair, and brushed it. After that, she applied ointment on her wounds. He so badly wanted to help her do it.

"Ah.." she grimaced in a low tone, but he heard it loud and clear. After applying the ointment she stood up and walked to the couch. With or without preparation, Ryan walked to her. Aria picked the cushions from the couch and turned back to walked to the bed.

"Ari.." he called but she just walked passed him. He was truly a ghost she couldn't see. He turned and found her placing the cushions on the bed, creating a boundary between them. He gulped hardly, biting his lips hard. His eyes sting, his breath unevened. After she created the boundary, she looked at him, and heart his stopped beating. Her gaze was empty, housing no expression. Her eyes told him not to cross the boundary, and just like that she climbed the bed. Held the teddy tightly and closed her eyes. Pain tugged his heart. He felt he was going to cry.

He walked to her, knelt in front of her, and then reached out to to tuck the bunch of hair behind her ear, so he could see her face properly. But his had stopped halfway when she opened her mouth and said "Don't touch me"

God, it was so cold. His heart tore into pieces than it has already been as he retreated his hand. He opened his mouth to speak but he could only close them back. He stared at her for a long while, doing nothing. This was pure torture. He rather burn in hell. He had burned before, but that pain is nothing compared to this.

She had longed slept off, but he, he couldn't. He could only watch her face through his misted red eyes. Until he could no longer keep his eyes open, and the darkness drowned him.
