Chapter 6 - Lessons of Infinity

The morning light filtered through the tall windows of the Gojo training hall, casting long, sharp beams across the polished floor. Aya stood in the center, her fists clenched lightly at her sides, eyes narrowing as she focused on the faint hum of energy swirling in the space around her.

Gojo leaned lazily against the wall, his blindfold catching the light. "Good morning, little sister. Today, we dive deeper. Infinity isn't just a trick; it's a philosophy, a rhythm. You don't fight against the world—you let it move, and you find your place in it."

Aya frowned. "I… think I understand, but I don't know how to actually use it."

He smirked. "That's why I'm here. Stop thinking. Feel it."

The hall was empty except for them, but Aya could sense the energy of the city beyond the walls, the hidden currents of cursed energy flowing through Tokyo. Closing her eyes, she let herself breathe in sync with those rhythms, letting the faint pulse of Infinity spread through her awareness.

"Good," Gojo said softly. "Now, the Six Eyes."

Aya's pulse quickened. The term had floated in her mind since he first mentioned it, but she had yet to feel its true weight. Gojo stepped closer, his hand brushing against the air as though guiding her energy.

"Open your mind," he said. "Don't just look. See. Not with your eyes—with your perception. The Six Eyes aren't about vision. They're about understanding the flow, the hidden truths, the threads that connect everything."

Aya inhaled deeply, letting her energy extend outward. The world around her seemed to slow, details sharpening: the faint tremor of the walls, the subtle vibration of air, even the residual traces of yesterday's training. Threads of energy intertwined with each other, and she felt them, not as separate objects, but as a living, connected whole.

"Now," Gojo said, "reach. Extend your Infinity. Don't block the world—bend it around you. Let your energy protect the space between you and the threats."

Aya raised her hands instinctively. She felt the familiar pulse of energy respond to her intention, surrounding her like an invisible shield. A ball of air seemed to form at her palms, faintly shimmering. She took a step forward, and the air in front of her paused, the world feeling weightless, suspended.

Gojo nodded approvingly. "Not bad. You're learning faster than I expected. But remember, Infinity isn't just defense—it's control. Space, distance, timing. Everything flows. You must be aware of the consequences of every gesture."

Aya's brow furrowed. "Consequences?"

He tilted his head, his smile hidden behind the blindfold. "Yes. Every attack, every movement, every pulse of energy affects the world around you. The stronger you get, the more dangerous you become to yourself and others if you lose control. That's why discipline is essential."

Aya exhaled, letting her hands fall to her sides. The training already left her body trembling, yet her mind felt sharper than ever. She glanced at the empty hall, sensing a faint disturbance, subtle but deliberate.

"Someone's out there," she murmured, barely audible.

Gojo's head tilted. "Already feeling them?"

Aya nodded slowly. "I think they're observing… testing me."

He chuckled softly. "Not surprising. You're a Gojo. People notice. But don't worry, little sister. We'll turn your awareness into your weapon. They won't know what hit them."

Aya's hands tightened into fists again. I have to master this. I won't let them catch me unprepared.

Gojo stepped closer, his blindfolded gaze piercing. "Next exercise: I'm going to push your Infinity to its limits. A cursed spirit will appear, and you will hold it at bay without touching it directly. Control the space between you and the threat. Move it, manipulate it, bend it—don't destroy it, just contain it."

Aya's pulse accelerated, but determination steadied her. "Understood."

He snapped his fingers, and a wisp of shadow solidified into form—a low-level cursed spirit, jagged and flickering, moving with unnatural speed. Aya could feel its intent, chaotic yet predictable, probing the empty space around her.

She extended her energy outward, the invisible barrier of Infinity forming between her and the spirit. The creature lunged, claws reaching toward her, but the air itself bent, intercepting its path. Aya felt the threads of energy vibrate, responding to her mental commands. She adjusted subtly, leaning slightly, shifting a hand, and the cursed spirit was repelled without ever touching her.

Gojo clapped slowly. "Good. Now, extend further. Don't just repel—guide it. Make it respect your space."

Aya took a deep breath, concentrating. She felt the Six Eyes opening more clearly now, threads of energy illuminated in her mind, patterns forming. The cursed spirit approached again, faster, more erratic. Aya shifted her focus, channeling Infinity through her perception. The air around the spirit thickened, bending it away from her path with invisible currents.

Minutes passed, though it felt like hours. By the time the cursed spirit dissipated, Aya's body was drenched in sweat, but her chest swelled with exhilaration. She had done it—not with brute force, but with precision and control.

Gojo stepped forward, hands in pockets, smiling beneath his blindfold. "Excellent. You're beginning to understand. Infinity isn't a wall. It's a rhythm, a flow. And the Six Eyes… they show you the melody."

Aya exhaled, trying to calm her racing heart. "It… it felt like I could see everything—the space, the movement, the danger… all at once."

"That's exactly it," Gojo said, nodding. "And soon, you'll feel it instinctively. But remember, someone is watching. Whoever it is, they know the value of what you are. That awareness will keep you alive. Don't underestimate them."

Aya's jaw set. "I won't."

The rest of the day was a blur of exercises, spatial control, and mental drills. By evening, Aya collapsed onto the mats, exhaustion and accomplishment mingling. Outside, the faint trace of the observer lingered—a shadow at the edge of perception, unseen yet undeniable.

Aya closed her eyes, feeling the hum of Infinity still coursing faintly around her. I'll be ready for them. Whoever they are.

Gojo's voice floated softly through the hall. "Remember, little sister—power is nothing without understanding. Strength without clarity is a curse unto itself. You're learning to wield both. Keep it close."

Aya smiled faintly, her body trembling but her spirit unbroken. I am Aya Gojo. I will master this power. And no shadow will control me.
