Chapter 79 - Why Not Hold It In Your Mouth?

Sawamura Sayuri wanted to see for herself the boy who could make Eriri cook for him with her own hands and taste her daughter's cooking.

Sawamura Sayuri: "I'll come over a bit early then, so don't you dare stand me up. If you do, I can't guarantee I won't accidentally~ say something in front of your classmates."

A threat! This was an absolutely blatant threat!

If Kasumigaoka Utaha wasn't at school on the weekend, Eriri could still accept her mother talking about her embarrassing past in front of her classmates. Afterwards, she could just...

But she didn't dare take that gamble. If Kasumigaoka Utaha decided to wander out of her bedroom on a whim, happened to run into her mother, and heard some of her dark history, that venomous woman would probably mock her to death for the rest of her life.

Eriri: "I will most certainly be in the dorm awaiting your grand! ar! ri! val!"

Sawamura Sayuri: "Such an obedient daughter, ohoho."

I just came out to buy ingredients for pizza, why did it end up being so tiring?

Eriri was so mentally exhausted she'd even lost the will to make a Hawaiian pizza.

Why is Mom always so indiscreet?

Ah, maybe I shouldn't make the pizza today, and just have Jhin-san come over on the weekend?

Just as the thought of slacking off flashed through her mind, Eriri came to her senses. Doing that would only turn a relaxing weekend into a live electric chair, and she'd be the unlucky fool about to be tortured in it.

I should hurry back and try making the Hawaiian pizza as a return gift for Jhin-san.

Eriri returned to the dorm carrying a full bag of ingredients to find Jhin sitting in the hall, chatting with a small, blue-haired girl.

She hid the bag behind her petite body, not caring if it was actually hidden, and greeted him with a stiff smile: "J-Jhin-san, you haven't gone home yet?"

Jhin stood up from his chair, took Nymph's hand, and introduced her, "Eriri, you're back. Let me introduce you, this is my little sister, Nymph."

"Ah, um, that is... Hello, my name is Sawamura Spencer Eriri."

"Hello. Well then, I'll be heading back now, Brother." With her cognitive interference active, Nymph flew straight up.

Jhin waved goodbye to her, "Yeah, be careful on your way."

Eriri mentally sighed at the complexity of Jhin's family, completely ignoring the sight of a little girl flapping beautiful fairy-like wings and flying away right before her eyes.

"Are those pizza ingredients you bought?"

She didn't dare look directly at Jhin: "These are just some snacks I bought. Where is everyone else?"

"They went out shopping together. Today is the weekly shopping day."

"Eriri, why are you just standing at the dorm entrance and not coming in?"

The familiar voice made Eriri groan inwardly. She never should have believed what that person said.

Eriri turned around, trembling.

Her mother, Sawamura Sayuri, was standing at the bottom of the steps to the dorm's main entrance.

"Mom, didn't you say you were coming on the weekend?"

Eriri put her hands behind her back, held four fingers together, and repeatedly waved at Jhin, signaling for him to quickly find a place to hide.

However, the continuous motion looked more like she was beckoning Jhin over.

She wants me to meet her mom? What kind of high-level play is this?

"Hello, ma'am. My name is Jhin. I'm Eriri's classmate."

Didn't I tell you to hide? Why did you just walk out on your own!

Eriri felt that Jhin was like one of those idiotic NPC hostages in some games you have to protect, who not only don't find cover but actively run into the line of fire.

"Hello, Jhin-san. I'm Eriri's mother, Sawamura Sayuri."

Sawamura Sayuri, dressed in a kimono, pulled out a folding fan from somewhere and snapped it open. She looked Jhin up and down appraisingly.

"I hear my daughter is going to cook for you personally?"

"Yes, as a return gift for a meal I made earlier."

"I wonder, would I be able to sample my own daughter's cooking as well?"

"Of course. Mrs. Sawamura, please come in and have a seat."

"My, you're such a good boy. Much more sensible than Eriri."

Sawamura Sayuri walked elegantly into the hall and sat down, her gaze unabashedly fixed on Jhin's body.

What's going on? This is the same kind of look I get from Mrs. Gotoh. Eriri, you didn't say something weird to make your mom see me as a potential son-in-law, did you?

Jhin glanced at Eriri. Her eyes were glazed over and her mouth was agape; it looked like her mother's surprise attack had caused her brain to shut down.

Jhin woke her up sympathetically, "Eriri, it's time for you to cook for Mrs. Sawamura."

"Huh? Oh, I'll go right now."

Eriri dazedly picked up her bag and headed for the kitchen, without pointing out the error in Jhin's words.

You think she was really that dazed? No, she was using Jhin's words to escape the scene.

Having escaped into the kitchen, Eriri closed the door, tossed the bag of ingredients onto the counter, then anxiously paced back to the door.

She pressed her ear against it, trying to eavesdrop on Sawamura Sayuri and Jhin's conversation. Unfortunately, she could only tell that they were talking, but couldn't make out the specifics.

Why is the kitchen so well soundproofed!

Eriri was both anxious and angry, terrified that her mother, like a leaky sieve, would tell Jhin all about her embarrassing past.

I need to make this pizza quickly and go out to keep an eye on Mom so she doesn't say anything she shouldn't.

Having made up her mind, Eriri watched a tutorial on her phone and began making the Hawaiian pizza.

First, she put a sheet of parchment paper on a baking tray, placed the pizza crust on it, and opened a can of pineapple. The large chunks of fruit inside obviously couldn't be placed directly on the crust.

Eriri gripped the kitchen knife, holding down the slippery piece of pineapple tightly with her left hand. She chose a suitable spot with the tip of the knife and sliced down gently, successfully cutting a perfect slice.

This made her a little smug.

Maybe I actually have a talent for this, and I just never knew because I've never cooked before.

Jhin calmly answered the questions Sawamura Sayuri occasionally threw at him. What he didn't understand was why, after he mentioned he already had a girlfriend, Sawamura Sayuri seemed even more excited.

Isn't this lady supposed to be a fujoshi? Why does she also have a taste for NTR?

"Aah!" Eriri's cry of pain came from the kitchen, interrupting their conversation.

Jhin immediately ran into the kitchen to check on the situation.

Eriri, in her moment of pride, had carelessly cut her left index finger and was now holding her injured hand, at a loss.

Jhin ran back to his bedroom and got the first-aid kit.

"Eriri, hold out your hand. I'll take care of the wound for you."

Hearing his voice, Eriri looked up, tears welling in her eyes, and held out her throbbing left hand.

Jhin first used a cotton swab to dab away the fresh blood, then used a new one with iodine to disinfect the wound. After confirming it had stopped bleeding, he put a bandage on it for her.

"Tsk, he didn't put her finger in his mouth to disinfect it like in my imagination..." Sawamura Sayuri was very disappointed.

Jhin had lines on his forehead: "Mrs. Sawamura, that method is actually incorrect."
