Chapter 67 - Chapter 67 – The Cleaning Position Becomes a Battlefield

After the front desk positions were finalized, the interview hall fell into a strange silence.

The two newly hired receptionists stood to one side, their faces still flushed with excitement, while the remaining applicants—Ph.D. holders, master's degree holders, and elites from top universities—stood stiffly in place.

They had lost.

Lost to beauty requirements.

Lost to youth.

Lost in the most absurd way imaginable.

Rachel Liu crossed her arms and snorted softly."Hmph. Men really are visual creatures."

Alex Lin pretended not to hear that.

He glanced at the time and knocked lightly on the table."Alright, everyone. The front desk interviews are over. Let's move on."

The crowd instantly straightened.

Hope reignited in their eyes.

"There are still positions left, right?" someone asked nervously.

"Yes," Alex Lin replied calmly. "Office clerks, logistics, assistants… and—"

He paused deliberately.

"—one final cleaning position."

The room froze.

One position.

One.

Out of dozens—no, hundreds—of elites.

A Ph.D. holder swallowed hard."A cleaning… position?"

Alex Lin nodded seriously."That's right. Only one spot left."

The applicants looked at one another, expressions twisting between disbelief, humiliation, and desperation.

Cleaning.

They had crossed oceans, survived years of brutal academic competition, earned degrees that could open doors anywhere in the world—

And now they were fighting over a broom.

Yet strangely…

No one left.

Not a single person walked out.

Instead, their gazes grew sharper.

Someone clenched their fists."So long as we enter the company… it doesn't matter where we start."

"Exactly. Once we're inside, opportunities will come."

"Even sweeping floors is better than being outside."

Alex Lin observed all of this quietly, the corner of his mouth lifting ever so slightly.

He could almost feel the tension thickening in the air.

At that very moment—

Dragon Fang Capital Headquarters.

A furious roar echoed through the luxurious office.

"Useless! All of them are useless!"

Dragon King Zhao Tian slammed his fist against the desk, veins bulging on his forehead.

Over a hundred elites.

Carefully selected.

Meticulously trained.

And not a single one had successfully infiltrated Alex Lin's company.

It was unbearable.

This was not merely failure.

It was humiliation.

A slap across his face.

"You're telling me," Zhao Tian growled, "that none of them even made it past the front desk interview?"

The black-clad subordinate lowered his head."Yes, Dragon King."

Zhao Tian laughed coldly."Fine. Front desk is insignificant."

He stood up, eyes glinting with ruthless determination.

"But there is still one position left."

He turned slowly."The cleaning job."

Back at Lin Investment Company, Alex Lin smiled faintly at the crowd.

"Since so many of you are still here," he said, voice calm and unhurried,"then clearly, you're all interested in the final position."

Everyone straightened instinctively.

"This cleaning position," Alex Lin continued,"will be decided by a test."

A ripple of tension passed through the room.

"What kind of test?" someone asked.

Alex Lin's smile deepened—just a little.

"You'll find out soon."

At that exact moment, phones across the room vibrated simultaneously.

A single message appeared on their screens:

Dragon King's Order:No matter what, the cleaning position must be secured. Failure is not an option.

The applicants' expressions changed instantly.

Shock.

Pressure.

And finally—

Desperation.

Outside, the sky darkened slightly.

Inside the interview hall, an invisible battlefield quietly took shape.
