Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 A Moonlit Night Illuminates All Rivers

It was another new day.

When Lu Li regained consciousness, it was already noon.

Unlike usual.

Skirk wasn't practicing with a Sword now; instead, he walked up to Lu Li holding an old Sword and a pair of shoes.

Skirk crouched down and lifted Lu Li's small blanket.

Then he put the little shoes on Lu Li.

The shoes were made of some small animal's hide, tiny and quite cute.

Lu Li touched the fur on the shoes.

It was very smooth.

Lu Li, who hadn't worn shoes for a long time, felt a bit unaccustomed to them at first. After putting on the small shoes, a Warmth spread from his soles, which was very comfortable.

His steps were steady when he walked, not at all like an infant.

"Yesterday, your ability to step on air was indeed quite special."

"I didn't expect you to learn to walk so quickly. It seems you truly are a talent worth cultivating."

Listening to Skirk's praise, Lu Li nodded confidently in agreement.

Skirk wondered if it was his imagination, but he felt that Lu Li clearly possessed a maturity far beyond his current age.

"Since you've learned to walk, let's begin your martial arts training with me. Once you've mastered all martial arts..."

"We'll proceed to the next step."

"Mastery of all martial arts is just the beginning. Once you've honed tangible weapons to their extreme... you can become even stronger."

"Mountains, rivers, sun, and moon will all transform into sharp blades in your hand."

"Let all things and phenomena be at your command, and then..."

While Skirk was still speaking, Lu Li stepped on air and performed a backflip!

"And then it is to let this moon's essence — illuminate all rivers!"

Then he made a motion of swinging a Sword and planting it into the ground upon landing.

He wasn't holding a Sword, nor did any Sword energy burst forth. It wasn't that Lu Li couldn't... but rather, Lu Li felt that if he were to unleash Sword energy now, he might get so tired he'd fall asleep again.

Seeing Lu Li suddenly act as if he were possessed by a demonic entity, Skirk's stern face relaxed slightly for a moment.

Lu Li's body, after a night of automatic Abyssal Power tempering, had grown stronger once again.

Even a backflip was achievable.

It was just quite strenuous.

However, in a few more days, when his physical strength increased further, he would be able to do it with ease.

By then, he probably wouldn't faint even if he released Sword energy multiple times.

Lu Li steadied himself and stood firm again.

After Lu Li stood firm.

Skirk's mind involuntarily recalled Lu Li's recent movements.

Although the movement wasn't very standard, it looked like a Sword move.

Skirk wasn't wrong.

This move was a Sword move Lu Li learned from playing games in his previous life, named [Ephemeral Bloom, Milky Way Dreamfall].

It was the move of Jingliu, the Swordmaster of the Xianzhou.

However, Lu Li only learned the form, not the essence.

Of course... this wasn't Lu Li's fault, as it's difficult for humans to jump into mid-air with a single leap.

But even so, it had the general shape.

At this moment, Skirk was repeatedly pondering Lu Li's recent movements in his mind.

He fell into thought.

"Did you comprehend this move yourself?"

Facing Skirk's question.

Lu Li shook his head, "No."

Seeing Lu Li shake his head, Skirk thought for a moment and then had an answer.

Skirk remembered... that he often practiced with a Sword in front of Lu Li during this time.

He had also performed Sword moves similar to this, though the details were slightly different.

The Sword move Lu Li displayed was more exquisite than the Sword move Skirk used!

Recently.

Skirk learned that Lu Li was not an ordinary infant, but a very intelligent and highly Talented child.

He could speak at five months, step on air, and even do a backflip.

Then it wasn't too much for him to perform a Sword move similar to his own.

Skirk immediately felt relieved; the Talents of this child he picked up were truly exaggerated.

He himself was considered a genius.

But with this Talent, Skirk already felt somewhat inferior. When he was Lu Li's age... Skirk didn't even know what he was doing.

He could barely recall any memories.

Seeing Skirk, whose face alternated between seriousness and joy as he thought things over and over.

Lu Li explained.

"This is a move from someone I dreamed of. I merely imitated it slightly."

Now, Lu Li spoke quite fluently, and his long sentences were smooth and clear.

Listening to Lu Li's words, Skirk was curious.

"What did that person look like?"

Facing Skirk's question, Lu Li began to describe.

"She was a woman with long white hair and crimson eyes, wearing a blue dress. Her swordsmanship was extraordinary."

"In my dreams, she often practiced with a Sword."

"Her homeland was destroyed, she was all alone, and she even took on a disciple."

Listening to Lu Li's words, Skirk smiled. It seemed this child really did dream of him.

Perhaps he even heard his own mutterings.

Otherwise, how could he dream of his homeland being destroyed... and the physical description was also quite similar to his own.

Then... this move must have been learned from him. He truly was his good Beloved Disciple, already beginning to learn the Sword and grow stronger while still an infant.

Moreover, this Sword move could be made even more exquisite. This disciple... was simply a treasure!

Skirk's mindset had shifted from raising Lu Li until he grew up and then, depending on the situation, sending him to be fostered by reliable people.

It had changed to eagerly anticipating how powerful Lu Li would become in the future.

"He also said... ahem."

"All techniques performed through physical forms are but minor paths."

"And now I abandon mortal iron, stealing a sliver of moonlight to illuminate all rivers of the mortal world. This is the Sword in my palm, appearing and disappearing at will, omnipresent."

Listening to Lu Li's words.

Skirk was puzzled this time. This wasn't his line at all!

Abandon mortal iron, steal moonlight?!

What did it mean... to abandon the Sword made of mortal iron in hand?

Skirk nodded.

He indeed didn't use mortal iron; he used a Sword condensed from Crystal Blade.

Skirk extended his hand.

Hundreds and thousands of Crystal Blade instantly condensed into Skirk's hand.

Skirk formed a Crystal Sword, three feet seven inches long. Holding it in his hand was like holding a sliver of moonlight.

Was this what Lu Li meant by 'stealing a sliver of moonlight'?

Then, 'illuminating all rivers of the mortal world, appearing and disappearing at will in the palm, the omnipresent Sword' was... Skirk's mind suddenly had a flash of Khvarena—

He imitated Lu Li's earlier movement, instantly leaping into the air!

This height was dozens of times higher than Lu Li's earlier jump, and the speed was so great that Lu Li didn't even react, only seeing something flash past.

After leaping up.

Skirk adjusted some unnatural parts.

Immediately after, Skirk found a suitable position for himself.

Behind him, Crystal Blade quickly converged.

Countless Crystal Blade gathered into a glowing disc!

From a distance, it looked like the moon.

"A moon's essence, illuminating all rivers!"
