Chapter 66 - 66

Although the speed of psychokinetic flight was not fast, it was only a distance of 3,000 meters after all, and it took less than a minute to fly in a straight line.

However, Victor encountered some trouble with the evacuation.

He didn't have any 'Super Hearing' superpower, so his voice couldn't possibly overcome the overwhelming din of the crowd.

What? Make people listen to you obediently?

Do you think this is a movie?

The crowd that remained was watching a 'terrorist attack'! Each and every one of them was incredibly brave; when they encountered a 'live Superman', their first reaction wasn't fear, but excitement.

Shouting, taking pictures, and even confessing love—where was there any room for Victor to interject?

Not only that.

The police who were originally maintaining order also pointed their guns at him.

A police chief in a white uniform, holding a megaphone, said sternly, "Mr. Mutant! You are suspected of using dangerous weapons in a public area and infringing on others' copyrights. Please come down and cooperate with the investigation!"

Apparently.

This police chief did not believe in the so-called 'Superman's arrival', but simply thought it was some flying Mutant, wearing Superman's skin to show off.

Victor's eyes lit up when he saw the police chief, and he quickly flew over, despite the latter's wary gaze.

The police chief immediately warned sternly, "Do not approach the crowd! Land in an open space with your hands on your head! Damn it! Open...

Facing Victor's direct flight, the police chief, after warning him once without a response, immediately prepared to order to shoot.

But.

Victor was already within 10 meters of the police chief. With a wave of his hand, his psychokinesis easily snatched the megaphone from the police chief's hand. The police chief was pulling out his gun and was completely unprepared for this.

Victor held up the megaphone and tentatively asked, "Hello, hello, can you hear me? Quiet! Listen to me!"

With the help of the megaphone, he finally managed to overpower the crowd's noise, causing them to quiet down slightly, but they were all excitedly holding up their cameras, ready to hear what 'Superman' had to say.

The police chief was also momentarily stunned.

So you came over not to attack, but just to grab the megaphone?

Victor seized the rare opportunity and immediately said sternly, "Get out of here quickly! Flee to an area outside the city center! Iron Man and the enemy are fighting high in the sky and could fall here at any moment!"

He thought he had made it very clear.

But the crowd didn't buy it.

"Aren't you 'Superman'? You'll definitely protect us! We're not leaving!" A die-hard Superman fan shouted back.

"Exactly, what are we afraid of with 'Superman' here?" This was someone stirring up trouble.

"Who is Iron Man?" This was a question from a curious bystander.

"Disgusting Mutant, police, quickly catch him!" This was a citizen who feared Mutants.

"Mr. Mutant, we will add 'threatening and intimidating' to your charges! Please do not make me add 'spreading rumors' as well!" The police chief shouted loudly.

He was determined not to believe Victor's words.

Only a small number of people, adopting the mindset of 'better safe than sorry,' chose to quietly leave.

But the vast majority of people still stayed put, strongly watching 'Superman'.

Whether it was true or false, it was right to take pictures first. They would definitely show off when they got back!

Driven by curiosity, the unknown, hypothetical danger was selectively ignored.

Humanity has a herd mentality.

If others aren't leaving, it means there's no big deal, so why should I leave?

Humanity also has a lucky psychology (a psychology of hoping for the best).

Even if there is real danger, it will definitely be others who suffer. With so many people, how could it possibly be my turn?

So.

Not only did large crowds stay, but they also began to call friends and summon others to see the 'live Superman'—good things should be shared, after all.

Through his Super Hearing, Victor heard all these voices.

For a moment, he thought about giving up on this group of people.

But since he had already appeared, giving up halfway would be too lame. Besides, if a huge disaster were to occur later, he and Tony would definitely be dragged out and whipped.

Never trust the pen in a reporter's hand!

They might only write what's eye-catching, not what's close to the truth. Each one of them is practically Xuanhuan-attribute maxed out; give them a topic, and they can give you a Xuanhuan story!

Looking up at the sky, Tony and iron monger were already falling downwards, expected to 'hard land' in at most half a minute.

He didn't have much time left.

Since peaceful persuasion wasn't working, it was time for force.

Glancing at the several police officers around him, guns drawn and ready, and the police chief whose face was ugly from being ignored, Victor thought of a plan.

If you think there's no danger, then I'll create danger!

Driven by psychokinesis, he tried to snatch the small pistol from the police chief's hand again. Unexpectedly, this time the police chief had learned his lesson, gripping the pistol tightly. He was dragged along, hanging onto the gun, but still refused to let go.

Losing the gun was a small matter; what he feared were the dangerous consequences after it was snatched.

It was one thing to have the megaphone snatched, but if you tried to snatch a police officer's pistol, the charge of 'assaulting an officer' would be undeniable.

In America, police can use their discretion in dealing with suspects accused of 'assaulting an officer.' If the circumstances are serious, there is no crime in killing them on the spot!

If you're snatching a police gun, can the circumstances not be serious?

"Shoot! All of you, shoot him!" The police chief let out a tragic roar, "Shoot to kill!"

Anyone who didn't know would think he was being anally raped.

The other officers, upon receiving the order, naturally pulled their triggers without hesitation.

Bang! Bang! Bang! ... The continuous firing of five pistols instantly panicked the bustling onlookers. Each one, without needing a reminder, scattered like bottle rockets, seeking cover.

What Superman? What curiosity?

Where is life not important!

Even if they were 'adventurers,' they weren't war correspondents. Stray bullets don't have eyes; they might just hit the jackpot and go to meet God.

A strong will to survive made them choose to back down.

As the crowd 'safely evacuated,' Victor also breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Ignoring the police officers' 'tickling,' Victor looked up at the sky.

He no longer needed his long-range vision to see iron monger as a small black dot, whose landing point was directly at the plaza beneath Victor's feet.

Long-range vision activated.

Behind iron monger, Tony's Iron Man Suit was also falling, but unlike iron monger's complete freefall, it would ignite and buffer every second.

His energy was indeed insufficient, otherwise, he wouldn't be buffering intermittently; the show-off Tony would definitely fly down.

But it looked like it was still within control.

After a careful re-evaluation of iron monger's hard landing point, it was probably in the plaza that had just been bustling but was now sparsely populated.

Perfect!

As for the few remaining daring fools, Victor couldn't be bothered with them anymore.

If you seek death yourselves, God can't save you.

Now, all he had to do was wait quietly.

While Victor waited leisurely, the five police officers who had been shooting below, plus the police chief who later joined, making a total of six, were not in a good mood.

Hey, hey.

Even if you're not afraid of bullets, at least consider our feelings! Why don't you have any reaction at all?

We've emptied our magazines, and you're ignoring us like this, making it seem like we're holding toy guns!

The police chief was about to say some 'harsh words' to maintain police dignity.

But then his pupils suddenly contracted as he saw the big guy above his head.

Fuck!

What the hell is that thing in the sky? It's falling from the sky? An unmanned fighter jet? Was what that Mutant said true?

iron monger falling from the sky made the police chief's mind a bit chaotic.

Fortunately, he was an old hand on the front lines. Judging that his current position might be affected, he immediately chose to move to the side and ran towards Victor.

His intuition saved his life.

iron monger crashed heavily into a corner of the plaza, precisely where the police chief had been standing. The gravitational potential energy carried from tens of thousands of meters up was terrifying, directly smashing through the plaza ground and creating a pit six to seven meters in diameter.

As for only creating a small pit like in the movies, that's ridiculous, right? Even if you dropped a marble from tens of thousands of meters up, it wouldn't just create a small pit.

And the police chief was only three meters from the edge of the pit!

And that wasn't all.

The scattered debris from the impact covered a radius of 20 meters. A few unlucky curious teenagers were directly headshotted or had their hearts pierced.

Others who were unlucky enough to have broken limbs and were wailing were already considered lucky to be alive.

However, the police chief, who was closest, was running towards Victor. Victor couldn't just let him be, and since the other party had 'helped' him evacuate the crowd, Victor descended early and used his body to shield him from the aftermath.

Don't even mention it.

This attack power was stronger than a small pistol; it actually made him feel a bit of pain.

In comparison.

Victor heard Tony's electronic voice, altered by his helmet.

"One step to the left! One step to the left!"

The voice was a bit far, but there was a slightly sharp whooshing sound, possibly Tony reminding him to avoid him.

Victor subconsciously followed, taking a step to the left, but always felt something was off.

Would Tony be so kind as to remind himself?

In fact, no.

A huge force slammed hard into his lumbar disc, pressing him forward, and he landed with a 'splat' on the floor, feeling a slight soreness in his nasal bone.

He pulled his face from the ground; there was no blood, so he should be fine.

He didn't try to get up, but a large chunk of steel was pressing on his back, at least 300 kilograms, making it hard to breathe. How could he get up?

He could only roar angrily, "Fuck! Tony Stark! Get off me!"

Damn it!

I came all this way in the cold to save your sister, and this is how you treat me?

Tony, however, did not get off Victor as told.

He mumbled an explanation, "Backup energy is depleted. I don't have much of the old model left; I have to keep it to power the little thing in my chest. The shock absorption System can't be activated, so I need a buffer."

"Then you damn well get off me!" Victor's face was veined with anger.

"Uh... the mechanical power System is damaged, I can't move now..." Tony's voice was a bit awkward.

"Is there any System of yours that's still working?" Victor snapped angrily.

"Uh... in fact, I still have a lot of stamina left. If we work together, we should be able to flip me over." Tony was uncharacteristically embarrassed.

Victor was so angry he laughed.

He remembered when Egghead (Nickname for Nick Fury) was ambushed by HYDRA, during the chase, the flying, communication, and other Systems of that idiotic car were all damaged, with only the air conditioning System intact.

At that time, Fury's heart must have been filled with a stampede of horses.

Since there was a reason, Victor chose to temporarily forgive Tony. The two worked together, plus the push of psychokinesis, to flip Tony, who was trapped in the iron can, and push him to the side.

Victor was freed.

Taking a deep breath of fresh air, Victor glanced at Tony lying on his back on the ground, and casually kicked the Iron Man Suit, emitting a dull thud.

Victor's current body was somewhat strange, like a non-Newtonian fluid; normally, it was no different from ordinary flesh and blood, but when subjected to external attack, it would become incredibly hard.

"Hey buddy! Don't make any small moves!" Tony warned, "Although I'll dismantle this suit when I get back, if you break it, you'll still have to pay for it!"

Victor rolled his eyes and casually asked, "What, Genius Tony Stark, didn't you consider the situation of energy depletion?"

"Of course I did! Do you think I'm you?" Tony's tone was very disdainful, "The suit has a mechanical power System; even without energy, I can still beat you down!"

"Oh? So what are you doing lying on the ground now?" Victor unceremoniously exposed him.

Tony became withdrawn.

Who the hell knew that Obadiah, instead of doing anything else, would just mess up his mechanical power System? And it just happened to coincide with an energy shortage; the little bit left in the Arc Reactor in his chest still had to be saved to keep him alive.

Fortunately.

At this moment, the police chief, whom Victor had protected, very timely interjected, "Excuse me, is this Tony Stark on the ground? Tony Stark of Stark Industries?"

The topic was immediately diverted.

Tony raised his hand, removed his iron mask, and responded with a smile, "Yes, that's me, the great Tony Stark. Is your girlfriend a fan of mine too?"

Police Chief: "...No, actually, my daughter really admires you. Can I get your autograph?"

"Of course, no problem!" Tony readily agreed, "Your daughter must be a little angel. I'll give you an autograph and tell her her dad is a good man. In return, you should let me use your phone for a bit."

The police chief naturally agreed, pulled out his feature phone and handed it to Tony, then he and several other police officers began to disperse the crowd, not allowing anyone else to approach.

Tony held the palm-sized feature phone from the police chief, but his thick iron fingers couldn't reach the buttons at all.

Proud Tony refused to ask Victor for help. With a series of operations on his arm joints, he took off the Iron Man Suit from his right hand, then opened his chest plate, allowing him to sit up from the ground.

While dialing, he used a red and gold screwdriver, which he pulled out from who knows where, to begin dismantling the Iron Man Suit from his body.

Victor's mouth twitched, and he looked up at the sky.

This guy was acting tsundere again.

However... he looked at the pit created by iron monger and, sensing something, asked nonchalantly, "Tony, don't you need my help anymore?"

"No! The smart Genius can do it himself." Tony refused directly.

"You don't care about Pepper's safety at all?"

"She already called me just now."

"Is there nothing you want to say?"

"Mainly, my decision was correct to bring you over." Tony was incredibly tsundere.

Victor, however, smiled without speaking.

Tony's tsundere appearance was inexplicably cute.

As expected of 'Nini'.

Moving a few steps, Victor stood between Tony and the pit. This unusual action naturally caught Tony's attention.

He thought of something, but then dismissed it as impossible, and was about to open his mouth to mock Victor.

But the slight vibration coming from within the pit made him close his mouth.

He looked at the pit entrance in surprise, just in time to see a thick steel palm gripping the edge of the pit, followed by another steel palm, until the complete iron monger climbed out of it.

Tony's eyes widened in horror. He didn't care that the lower half of his Iron Man Suit was still on, and he struggled to get up and run backward.

At the same time, he didn't forget to turn around and shout, "Hey, Superman brother, the second half is up to you."
