Chapter 59 - 59

Three armed helicopters flew in from the depths of the sea on the side, heading straight for Tony's villa.

Hydra was retreating!

Should I stop them?

Victor was a bit hesitant.

Now was not the time for Hydra to expose itself, otherwise his "S.H.I.E.L.D. Talent Acceptance Program" would go down the drain.

But if Tony was kidnapped by them, the subsequent plans would be even more screwed up!

As he hesitated,

Victor's farsight ability caught sight of a sniper rifle on each of the three armed helicopters, and coincidentally, Victor recognized it as the "Little Cannon" Barrett!

This thing could even penetrate light armored tanks!!

He wasn't sure if an iron body could withstand it... even if it did, the pain would probably be at least double!!!

He immediately rolled away, trying to dodge the opponent's sniper fire.

Unexpectedly, their target wasn't him; the three "Little Cannons" continuously fired at the three remaining Lickers.

With the advantage of a high vantage point, they first brutally blew off the Lickers' limbs, preventing them from moving flexibly, and then shattered their entire heads, a scene of extreme gore.

Coupled with the surrounding dismembered limbs and scattered corpses, Victor's stomach churned, and his throat itched uncontrollably.

He suppressed a certain instinct, remaining highly vigilant.

After dealing with the Lickers, it would be his turn, right?

At this moment,

His super hearing caught a command.

"Don't shoot... target threat... save for... absorption..."

With the interference of the helicopter blades, Victor couldn't hear the entire message.

But he could confirm that the other party had received orders from their superior not to harm his life?

The other party indeed didn't fire again, but instead aimed their rifles at Victor from a distance, deterring him from approaching.

Victor tried to step closer, but before his foot could even land, the opponent decisively pulled the trigger.

The telekinetic force surrounding him was shot through without any resistance, and the sniper bullet struck where he was about to step, blasting a hole the size of a child's head.

Looking at the hole, Victor silently withdrew his foot and stood with his hands behind his back.

What the hell kind of power was that! Even if it didn't penetrate, it could shatter your internal organs if it hit you!

It was better to observe with farsight first to confirm whether Tony had been abducted.

If not, then let them go for now; Hydra's exposure now would be bad for everyone.

Nick Fury hadn't yet accumulated the strength to counterattack, Hydra hadn't grown strong enough to be confident, and Victor hadn't found a suitable position to be the fisherman.

If Tony were kidnapped... Victor's platform's remaining balance could pile up and crush the opponent.

Three armed helicopters quickly approached the sky above the villa, then dropped a pile of fast ropes, and a dozen armed individuals quickly ran out of the villa, each carrying a tactical briefcase.

Victor watched with cold eyes, not moving.

The size of the tactical briefcases meant that to take Tony away, they would probably have to dismember him and "pack him in"—doing so would offer Hydra no benefit and was almost impossible.

After all, Tony was just an ordinary person; his flesh and blood, except for his sperm, had no research value.

Unexpectedly, Obadiah also walked out of the villa, with a triumphant look on his face.

How was this guy not dead?

It seemed that last night's prison attack was Hydra's doing, aimed at rescuing Obadiah and obtaining first-hand intelligence.

After picking up the people, the armed helicopters didn't linger and flew straight towards the depths of the sea.

Victor watched the armed helicopters leave the coastline, then enveloped himself in telekinesis and flew towards Tony—the Ferrari sports car had already become scrap metal, and this was his fastest way to travel at the moment.

This was where the comparison came in.

Originally, the sports car only needed 40 seconds to drive, but Victor flew for 2 minutes to get there, and even then, his telekinesis was almost depleted.

After all, he had only gained this ability less than half a month ago.

If he had tried to use telekinesis to directly intercept the rocket launcher just now, the outcome would definitely not have been optimistic.

The villa's main door had been violently torn down, and Victor walked unimpeded into the living room.

Still on the same sofa, Tony this time failed to remain conscious, lying face up on the sofa, unconscious, with a bruise on his left temple.

He must have been knocked out by a heavy blow.

Similarly, Tony's miniature arc reactor on his chest had been stolen again, most likely by Obadiah.

Victor didn't go to check on Tony's condition, but turned and walked towards the downstairs staircase by the living room, descending to Tony's underground laboratory, where glass of unknown material was shattered everywhere.

The laboratory could be described as "a mess," with various instruments and items casually discarded on the floor.

Presumably, this was the masterpiece of the retreating Hydra members.

There was no time to worry about these things.

His remaining telekinesis spread out, flowing like water into the gaps between the cluttered items, searching for a rectangular model.

"Please, this plot twist absolutely must not change! Otherwise, the cost of resurrecting someone would be considerable!" Victor murmured.

Fortunately, Tony's grim reaper was on vacation today.

Before his telekinesis ran out, Victor finally found his target from the messy pile of junk—the glass display case containing the first-generation miniature arc reactor.

It seemed Pepper was as nostalgic as ever!

He quickly rushed back, clenched his right fist and smashed it down, shattering the glass display case, and the first-generation miniature arc reactor was completely removed.

Filling the emptiness in Tony's chest with this little device, Victor breathed a sigh of relief.

He had saved the cost of resurrection.

Just as he was wondering whether to douse Tony with a bucket of cold water, his super hearing caught the sound of brakes outside the villa, and listening carefully, there was only one person's footsteps.

It should be Hydra returning.

Victor thought for a moment and quickly guessed the identity of the newcomer, standing in place and waiting for them to enter.

However, the person didn't come through the main entrance.

He skillfully climbed over the fence, circled into the villa from somewhere on the side, and then cautiously explored forward until he emerged from the back hall.

The newcomer was a black man in an air force uniform, holding a pistol with both hands extended, and upon entering the living room, he immediately spotted Victor, almost instantly aiming his sights at Victor's head.

"Hands up!" the person shouted, "Hands where I can see them! Otherwise, I can't guarantee you'll live!"

While warning Victor, the person scanned the living room with the corner of his eye and quickly found the "dead" Tony.

His face tightened even more, and he sternly reprimanded, "Get away from Tony! Go to that corner and put your hands on your head! Now! Immediately!"

Seeing the person pointing a small pistol at him, Victor shrugged indifferently.

"James Rhodes, right? If you want Tony to wake up faster, you'd better get some water."

That's right.

The newcomer was indeed Tony's rare good friend, Air Force Major James Rhodes, the future War Machine and one of the Avengers.

Promotion mission progress +1, currently 4/5.

"You know me?" Rhodes's face remained wary; he no longer insisted on Victor putting his hands on his head and squatting down, nor did he put away his gun: "Tell me who you are? And what the hell happened here?!"

Victor scratched his head, unsure how to explain.

He might as well pin the blame on Tony.

His remaining telekinesis formed a needle, aimed at Tony's crotch... no, that spot was too cruel, let's go with the thigh.

"Hiss—Ouch!"

The telekinetic needle pricked him, and Tony instantly woke up in pain, clutching the pricked spot and springing up from the sofa, looking around with a ferocious expression.

Upon seeing Rhodes pointing a gun at Victor,

Tony bared his teeth and said, "How did you guys get here? Whatever's going on, Rhodes, put the gun down first. Also, did you just shoot me in the thigh?"
