Chapter 36 - 36

For three peaceful days, Victor had been soaking on the private beach.

The acquisition of the Los Angeles villa was urgent, so Felicia personally flew over, chose a seaside villa about 10 kilometers from Tony's villa, and tried to persuade the owner.

This job was not simple; most people who could afford a seaside villa were not short on money.

As for why she picked one 10 kilometers away... because the land within 10 kilometers centered around Tony's seaside villa had all been bought along with it.

Basic operation, Victor expressed that he was not surprised.

In his previous life, people with too much money and time did many bizarre things; buying land was only considered standard.

In the evening.

Felicia sent news that she had successfully negotiated for that seaside villa, and it was already being cleaned and personal items were being replaced. Victor could fly over now and move in directly upon landing.

The little girl was quite capable after all.

However, Victor did not set off immediately. Instead, he waited until the evening sun had set, then took Norman's private plane directly to Los Angeles Airport during the night.

As Victor walked out of the VIP area to Exit 1 of Los Angeles Airport, he couldn't help but feel a little dazed.

Only 14 days had passed.

He went from being "driven away" by a Happy to having a dedicated car waiting to take him to a seaside villa.

This change in status took only 14 days.

And all of this.

Was the added value brought by the Platform.

Otherwise, at most, he would have gotten a sum of money from Norman using information; it would have been impossible to take it for his own use as he did now.

Now that he thought about it.

Fate was truly peculiar.

Turning to leave, his phone vibrated in his arms. Victor didn't reach for it, asking, "Who's calling?"

"Chen, it's Pietro Maximoff's number," Alice replied.

Victor raised an eyebrow.

This was a bit strange. He remembered that it was right here that he had been knocked out by Wanda's suitcase.

"Connect."

The call connected, but the sound that came through was a bit strange, like Pietro was arguing with someone.

"White-haired kid, this week's rent is due." A strange, fierce voice.

"Damn it! You just collected it yesterday, why are you collecting it again today?" This was an exasperated Pietro.

"Heh, white-haired kid, yesterday was Sunday, today is Monday, it's already a new week, what's wrong with collecting it again?"

"Kid, you wouldn't be trying to live for free, would you?"

"Haha! Are you out of money?"

"Let your sister entertain us brothers for a bit, and this month's rent will be waived."

Immediately after, a scream rang out. It was Wanda's.

"Get out of here!" Pietro roared angrily, "We're not staying in this place, stay away from Wanda!"

"Haha—even if you don't stay, you still have to pay today's rent."

"What, do you dare to live in our place for free?"

"Brothers, why waste words with them? There's no one in this alley, let's just force ourselves on this girl!"

"That's right, this white cow looks really good. Since she came to our area, if we don't enjoy her... Ow! Damn it, you stinking bitch, you dare to bite me?"

"White-haired kid, put down what's in your hand!"

"You..."

Next was a series of messy movements and crude curses, which eventually devolved into a one-sided chase.

It seemed Wanda and her brother had resisted and escaped, and were now being pursued.

But no matter what Victor said, there was no response from the other side. This call might have been a misdial.

Victor frowned and quickly walked towards the Mercedes parked by the roadside. Felicia was standing obediently by the car, waiting.

"Alice, locate the phone signal's position."

"Location complete." Alice replied almost instantly, "The signal is in the homeless street of the downtown Los Angeles slum. If we go at full speed, it will take about 30 minutes to get there."

"Good, you lead the way for me."

"No problem, satellite navigation is ready."

As he spoke.

Victor had already walked to the Mercedes, examining the Mercedes C216 CL. This car was equipped with a V12 5.5L twin-turbocharged engine, with an acceleration time of only 4.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

It might not be suitable for racing, but it was enough for getting around.

After all, it was in the city, so he couldn't accelerate recklessly.

He walked around to the driver's seat, opened the door, roughly pulled the driver out, sat in the driver's seat, buckled his seatbelt, pressed the clutch, started the engine, shifted gears, and released the handbrake in one smooth motion.

Felicia reacted at this point, leaning on the window and saying anxiously, "Mr. Victor, do you have something urgent? Having the driver drive might be faster, he is..."

"No! The matter I'm going to handle is a bit troublesome, you guys aren't suitable to follow." Victor spoke incredibly fast, "You help me deal with the subsequent trouble."

Felicia was about to ask what kind of trouble.

Victor had already slammed the accelerator, the tires spun rapidly and rubbed against the road at high speed, causing the car to shoot forward. It weaved left and right through the bustling traffic, yet surprisingly didn't hit any other vehicles.

This driving skill made Felicia's scalp tingle.

She knew what Victor meant by "trouble"; driving over 100 kilometers per hour in the city, even if no damage was caused, was a serious violation of the law.

She really couldn't handle this matter.

No way.

Felicia could only dial Norman's private number.

--- On the other side.

Victor focused on weaving through traffic, his foot pressed to the floor on the accelerator. The roar of the engine could be heard from far away, and experienced drivers all avoided him, then pulled out their phones to call the police.

This guy was absolutely crazy! Racing in the city?

Victor, however, couldn't care less about these things.

As an F1 racing enthusiast, although his Father Chen and Mother Chen strictly forbade him from participating in races, his driving skills were undeniable.

Coupled with his current Physique, which was invulnerable, he had no psychological burden when racing.

The only thing he had to be careful of was hitting someone else.

At a crazy speed, the journey that originally took 30 minutes by car was compressed by Victor to 10 minutes. He left a 10-meter-long tire mark on the road before stopping the car.

The car hadn't even come to a complete stop when Victor had already flown out of the driver's seat — he literally flew out.

He couldn't care about being exposed anymore.

Three minutes ago, Pietro's phone signal had cut out. At that time, Wanda and her brother were already cornered, and now they might be being beaten up.

In the slums, the consequence of being beaten up often equated to death — for women, it was even more tragic; they might have to endure a sexual assault before dying.

Could Victor tolerate Wanda being sexually assaulted?

Although this world's Wanda had only met Victor once, whether it was for the continuity of the future plot or his own budding thoughts, he couldn't stand by and do nothing.

So.

Victor would not allow anything to happen to her!

Wrapped in telekinesis, Victor flew directly 20 meters into the air, looking down at the messy street where many people slept on the open roadside.

The signal had cut out somewhere nearby.

This was a slum, just like Hell's Kitchen in New York, there were no cameras, so Alice had no way of knowing where Wanda and her brother had been taken.

Victor could only search himself.

The restrictions on Super Hearing were lifted, and a large amount of chaotic noise flooded his mind, the sheer volume of information severely overloading his brain.

This super battle suit couldn't help him; he had to overcome it himself.

Now.

It was a race to see if he could overcome the difficulty and find Wanda and her brother first, or if Wanda and her brother would give up first.

"You must! You must hold on until I arrive!"
