Chapter 6: Luffy's Debut

1,215 Words

Zoro stiffly turned and looked at the woman holding a longbow, still in a drawn position.

From the moment they met, Zoro knew that this seemingly delicate woman was actually quite powerful.

But he never imagined she could be this powerful.

Even he would have had no confidence in blocking that arrow.

"Zoro, I've figured it out." Just as Zoro was lost in thought, Ganyu slowly lowered her bow, looked directly into his eyes, and said in a relaxed tone:

"Since the plot has already changed, let's just let it continue down this wrong path."

It wasn't until she shot that arrow that Ganyu truly understood something.

Her current identity was not just that of a passerby. She was a participant who could change the course of the story.

Does Zoro and Luffy's meeting have to take place in Shells Town?

Does Zoro have to suffer for nine days?

No, absolutely not!

They could have easily killed Helmeppo, defeated Morgan, and then actively searched for Luffy on the high seas.

After all, the ocean is vast, but there is only one route to the Grand Line.

...

Nine days later.

The newly renovated Shells Town welcomed two new guests.

A boy wearing a straw hat who was looking around curiously, and a short boy with glasses and pink hair.

"Coby, is this the naval base you were talking about?" The straw-hatted boy pressed down his hat, which had almost been blown away by the sea breeze, and looked at the harbor full of naval patrols with a curious expression.

"Wow. No wonder it's a naval base, the ground is full of Marines."

"That shouldn't be the case. Even if it's a sub-base, there's no need for so many patrols, is there?" The short, pink-haired man called Coby looked bewildered.

He had visited other naval-controlled islands before, but none were as heavily guarded as this one.

"Don't you know? A while ago, the naval captain here was defeated by two people."

A local resident overheard their conversation and kindly explained.

"What? Two people defeated a naval captain at a naval base?" Coby's mouth dropped open in disbelief.

His shock wasn't that the captain had been defeated, but that someone dared to attack him at the naval base.

Those two people are incredibly audacious!

"Coby, why are you so surprised? Is a naval captain that powerful?" The straw-hatted boy scratched the back of his head, his face full of innocent ignorance.

However, his dark eyes had already lit up.

His name is Monkey D. Luffy, a user of the Gum-Gum Fruit, and a rookie pirate who had only been at sea for a few days.

His ultimate goal is to find One Piece and become the King of the Pirates.

His short-term goal is to acquire a pirate ship and find a group of like-minded companions.

"Luffy, a Marine Captain is definitely powerful. He could be considered the strongest in a region, even in the East Blue! What's more, these two defeated him at a Marine base..."

Coby's voice carried a hint of excitement. Beneath his frail appearance, he seemed to harbor a heart that yearned for power.

"Is he stronger than Alvida?" Luffy asked again, his tone revealing anticipation.

It was obvious that he was interested.

These two sound like strong guys. Wouldn't they be perfect for my crew?

Moreover, getting two crew members at once would save a lot of trouble.

"Uh..." Coby pondered for a moment, making a comparison in his mind, and nodded. "He should be a bit stronger than Alvida, but I'm not very sure. The strength of a Navy captain varies."

"Uncle, how strong was that former naval captain?"

Coby asked the kind resident.

Upon hearing this, the man's face showed a hint of fear. "He... Morgan was very powerful. Before those two defeated him, he was a monster recognized by everyone, and no one dared to offend him."

"Morgan? I think I've heard that name on Alvida's ship..." Coby said thoughtfully.

Luffy couldn't help but press, "Uncle, who are those two people? What are their names? And where are they now?"

"You need to ask me that?" To Luffy's surprise, the enthusiastic resident gave him a strange look.

"Huh? Why...?"

Before he could finish, Luffy interrupted himself as he saw a newspaper fluttering in the wind, with two scarlet pirate wanted posters on the front.

Roronoa Zoro, the "Pirate Hunter." A three-sword style swordsman. A former bounty hunter, he inflicted significant damage on the Marines during the Shells Town incident...

Bounty: 10 million Berries!

"Frost Arrow" Ganyu. Identity and origin unknown. Uses a bow that doesn't require arrows; her arrows can cause freezing effects. She was an accomplice of the pirate hunter during the Shells Town incident...

Bounty: 10 million Berries!

"'Pirate Hunter' and 'Frost Arrow'?"

Luffy grabbed the floating newspaper. Looking at the two faces, he became more and more excited, as if someone was telling him something from the depths of his being.

These two people must be his crew!

...

"Thank you, sir, for letting me know about these two people."

A few minutes later, after reading the newspaper with Coby and hearing the news of Ganyu and Zoro's great deeds, Luffy said with a grateful expression.

"It was just a small thing," the helpful resident waved his hand, then carefully examined Luffy and Coby, asking with a puzzled look:

"Why are you looking for those two? Although they helped us drive away Morgan, they are pirates now, and it's very dangerous to get close to them."

"Hehe, uncle, you don't know, do you? He's a pirate too!" Coby said smugly, completely forgetting his miserable experience of being enslaved on a pirate ship for two years.

"That's right! My name is Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm going to be the Pirate King!" Luffy patted his chest and said confidently.

"Those two are the crew members I've chosen!"

"Oh, I see." The helpful resident suddenly realized, and then, under the watchful eyes of Luffy and Coby, he suddenly started running, shouting loudly at the Marines patrolling the port:

"There are two pirates here! Come quick!"

...

A dozen minutes later, at the entrance of the naval base.

"Huff... huff..."

Coby was covered in sweat, looking completely exhausted, and was panting heavily.

"D*mn it, that uncle actually betrayed us! We were chased for over ten blocks and almost caught!"

"Haha, what an interesting uncle!"

Luffy was also slightly out of breath, but he was incredibly calm, not at all angry about being chased. Instead, he even had time to worry about Coby.

"But Coby, didn't you want to join the Navy? Why did you run away when you saw them coming?"

"Of course we have to run! I'm with you, so they'll definitely think I'm a pirate too!" Coby explained.

"Oh, that's a real shame. It was such a good opportunity," Luffy shook his head.

At that moment, the gates of the naval base in front of them suddenly opened.

A burly old man with white hair appeared, making Luffy instantly lose control of his expression.

"Let me see who wants to join the Navy."
