Sometimes Deacon wondered why he had remained friends with Paul for so long. He had absolutely no problem cutting people off. So why was it that he was still talking to Paul of all people. He should have cut off all communication with the man long ago. Their conversation a few days before was proof of that.
"Deacon, I believe that you need to sit down with Slater without you two just trying to out do each other, you need to discuss your issues. From my standpoint, your problem has a very simple solution. Sit down and talk to her, fix your issues, or sit back, let it fester, and resign yourself to an unhappy marriage," That had been the grand advice, and it had not been at all what Deacon had wanted to hear when he had confided his problems in Paul. But his friend had refused to say anything more on the matter after that.
He had simply grabbed his wine, and pretended not to hear Deacon until Deacon had been the one to hang up, frustrated beyond belief.
