'Guys?' Skyler called out.
'Yes? I'm okay…' Lin answered pushed herself out of the closet.
'I heard someone scream.' John warned.
Lin and Skyker looked and John again.
'What?!' John yelled.
Kenneth climbed out of the room.
'That was me…' Kenneth mumbled.
'See?!' John shrieked.
'Okay, Okay…' Skyler laughed, 'But Kenneth, why did you scream then?'
Kenneth tried to get up and tripped.
'Oof…' Kenenth mumbled.
John walked over and laughed. He bent down and helped Kenneth up.
'I— I heard someone 'PSST' me and I saw a gooey creature with big weird eyes on my shoulder.
'Uh…' Lin whispered.
Skyler was silent. She knew it. There was something off about the incredible hotel.
'I saw something like that too… but I didn't hear a 'PSST'…' Lin informed.
John gasped. He was the smartest in the four man group and he looked like he learnt something new.
'I get it!!' John screamed lighting up and smiling, 'This creature that 'PSST's us is actually hostile!!'
'WHAT?!' Skyler shrieked in fear.
'You will hear a 'PSST' and if you don't find it stuck to your body in a few seconds… It will bite your face!!… or… just bite you.' John explained.
'Yes John!! You're a genius!!' Kenneth announced.
Skyler and Lin looked at each other.
'Then we should be quiet when we are moving through these rooms?' Lin asked
'Exactly!!' John answered,
'Yeah, but that also means you survived from that creature just by pure luck, and Kenneth survived because of pure instincts and skill.
'WHAT?!' John shouted.
'Shhhhhh' Lin hushed.
Skyler and Kenenth laughed as Lin and John started joking and howling at each other. Eventually, they pushed open door:
'0016'
And continued walking.
They saw a couple of paintings labeled with names like Alpha and Cul De Sac.
'What are these painting names bro!!' Lin eventually just had to comment.
'I don't know!!' Skyler laughed, lighting up.
The four friends kept walking through different doors untill they found a random room with two doors saying:
'0019'
And:
'0021'
'Uhm, Guys?' Skyler called out.
The four friends froze in fear, not knowing what was going on.
'It's fine!' Lin finally said, 'We can just check both doors!'
Kenneth and John looked at each other. Skyler, sighing.
'Just be careful…' Skyler warned.
Lin nodded as she carefully approached the door '0019'.
She froze.
'Do you hear that? Guys?' Lin whispered.
Kenneth and John raised their eye brows.
'What… sound.' John asked.
Lin launched herself at John.
'THE SOUND? YOU DON'T HEAR IT??!' Lin shouted in John's face.
'Get off me.' John replied almost with no emotion.
Lin sighed, 'Okay… here I go… Door '0019' Please…'
Skyler, Kenneth and John stared at the door carefully.
'What is that…' John murmured.
As Lin carefully opened the door, it revealed a dark, black creature stuck in the door frame.
'Watch out!!' Skyler yelled.
It was too late.
The black creature stretched out it's head and hands towards Lin and quickly bit her.
'AHH!' Lin screamed as the creature threw her back away from the door and hiding back into the door.
Silence. Lin lying on the flat wooden board floor. Bleeding.
'Wha—' Kenneth mumbled.
'Lin!!' Skyler cried, 'Oh my!!'
John stared at Lin with no emotion, almost smiling.
'This is what she deserves…' John whispered to himself.
At school, Lin would always bully John for always wearing a scarf. Especially when it was summer. Now that it was winter, there was nothing really to bully John about. And now… John's most biggest hated was down on the floor.
John knew she deserved it. But John didn't finish her off, he never laid a hand on Lin. He knew… it wasn't the right thing to do.
'Lin! Lin!' Skyler shrieked, 'Wake up!!'
Kenneth was also standing there not helping. He knew Lin was alive. And he also knew what he had to do, convince Skyler…
To leave Lin alone…
