Chapter 1 - Finish Line

The dust finally settled down. The scent of blood lingered in the air, filling up the survivors' nostrils. People hold onto their last breath, and it is the end of the time where the King of Deceive stood so close, yet so far away from his goal.

Aster stood there, in the midst of chaos.

He had lost a lot of blood and was unable to fight these many warriors standing behind of him.

Accepting his face, he stood there waiting for time to finally reach him.

"Aster, you bastard you erased so many people existence and pretended that it was Lord's fault"

"Aster, oh the humanity, the crisis you had started and to think you can run away for an eternity"

"Four years, Aster… FOUR YEARS me and my lover waited only for you TO TAKE IT AWAY WHAT I WANTED THE MOST??!!"

"This world was endless for you and so many people yet why? Why was my daughter your victim…", the man couldn't finish the sentence, as emotions took over him and weighed down upon his voice.

Aster fragile body stood with no facial expression. His gaze was already fixed onto the landscapes beyond time.

"Just one more step" he murmured.

Looking back, all these screams meant nothing to him. He had heard words like these a million times before.

But today felt something different for Aster. A feeling of joy and happiness surged through his body.

Looking back, he smiled. He touched his white pale face. His neck fell back, as he closed his eyes, breathing in for the very last time.

Winds grazed his brown hair. Sun shone upon his emerald green eyes. His clothes torn apart, fluttered into the breeze.

His vision showed him memories of his lover, his parents and his own journey as a man.

And there he stood, at the finish line.

Then a voice finally rang inside his ears. "Oh Aster", it said.

"Oh the humanity, look at what you've done?" the voice said

"All I did was to look for my freedom" Aster replied

"Freedom? Freedom from what? Freedom from whom?" the voice asked

"You already know" Aster replied, coughing out another spurt of blood.

"Freedom, and where did that you lead you to?" The voice asked again.

Aster with his remaining strength answered, "Freedom from you, oh Time do not consider the possibility that I will ever shake hands with you. You and I are different… While I look for self, you dissolve self, you take away meaning to everything, every little thing, and the darkness shadows the light"

At this moment, the voice went silent, knowing that there was no hope for the man.

The soldiers surrounding him took a step forward, ready to kill Aster.

"Ha, come on what you're waiting for you idiots!" Aster exclaimed, as he laughed with rage and anger.

The voice then rang once again, "How does it feel, trying to become a God, and yet so close but so far away eventually all come to the conclusion of me, all come to dust".

Aster smiled.

"No" he replied

"No? What makes you say that?" the voice asked.

Aster eyes went wide as he turned around.

"NO!!" just that and he moved his legs sprinting towards the Landscape Beyond Time.

"WHERE YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" a man behind him shouted as he made his move too.

"Still have some energy huh?" a woman said as she threw a spear at him which impaled his shoulder

Aster, eyes were widened even more. He went even crazier.

"You're not a God" he said to the voice.

Eventually one of the men caught up to him. He twisted hid body and took the spear in his hands, impaling the man in his chest.

"And even if you were" he continued.

Many more soldiers caught up to him, using their swords and spears.

He gave up on fighting. He sprinted as the people who grabbed him trying to stop him, got dragged into the Landscape Beyond Time.

His body slowly gave up. His eyes went heavy.

"I WOULD NEVER PUT MY FAITH IN YOU!!" his last words heavily weighing upon others who got dragged with him. The soldiers beside him, felt disconnected from time.

Then suddenly, BOOM!!

An explosion engulfed everyone who was beside him.

The remaining ones, behind the wall stood in horror as they saw their peers, engulfed into a white light and disappeared.
