Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Shocking! This Would Be Considered Groundbreaking in Any Era

Shen Zhiyue only hesitated for two seconds before decisively dismissing the idea.

He couldn't figure out what kind of person Jiang Huizhou was, so he decided to steer clear of him for the time being.

Thus, he decided to do it himself.

In his previous life, he wasn't someone who lacked money, but his wealth came later. Back when he first entered the entertainment industry, he spent two months living in a basement and surviving on instant noodles.

So, while he wasn't good at many things, his noodle-cooking skills were passable. He stood up and walked to the fridge, intending to take out two eggs to make a bowl of egg noodles.

However, when he opened the fridge, the foul smell almost made him gag.

The fridge was filled with takeout boxes, some eaten and some not, all piled inside without even a wrap of plastic film.

Some of the food had molded and sprouted fuzz, giving off a very unpleasant odor.

Shen Zhiyue sighed, found a plastic glove from the side, and, holding his breath, emptied the contents of the fridge into a large black garbage bag.

After nearly clearing out the fridge, he managed to find two eggs to make a bowl of egg noodles for himself and the child.

"Hurry up and wash up, then come eat," Shen Zhiyue called out to the child still in the bathroom. Since he had forgotten the original character's name in the book, he had to use such a term.

But he didn't mind. The child was so beautiful and adorable that only someone truly heartless wouldn't treat him like a treasure.

The child didn't react right away, assuming Shen Zhiyue was calling one of his boyfriends. When he came out and saw Shen Zhiyue placing a bowl of egg noodles on the table with no one else in the room did he realize that the term of endearment was for him.

He slowly walked over, staring at the steaming bowl of egg noodles without speaking.

"All clean?" Shen Zhiyue handed him the chopsticks, but seeing how cold the child's hands were, he took them back. "Come here, I'll feed you. Your hands are too cold to hold the chopsticks."

The child looked at him, his eyes filled with confusion. "Are you planning to sell me?"

Shen Zhiyue paused. "Why would you say that?"

"Then why are you being so nice to me?" The child stared at him frankly. "Is it because you're about to sell me, so you're being nice to me now?"

Shen Zhiyue chuckled bitterly. "I have no intention of selling you, I swear. You could say I've had a sudden change of heart."

The child was silent for a few seconds before shaking his head. "From a psychological standpoint, sudden changes in people are usually triggered by something significant. But you haven't experienced anything like that today, so your motives are hard to fathom... Or maybe you're not even Shen Zhiyue anymore?"

Shen Zhiyue almost dropped the bowl in his hand.

What? He guessed it already?

What kind of max-level child is this, speaking with the maturity of an adult?

"You could say that," Shen Zhiyue said, placing the bowl on the table to prevent himself from dropping it.

This was the only bowl of egg noodles left in the house, and if it fell, they would go hungry.

"People can change in an instant. Think about it—every second, old cells die and new ones form, so who I am now isn't exactly who I was just a moment ago."

The child's brow furrowed deeply.

Clearly, Shen Zhiyue's nonsense was quite explosive in any era.
