Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Looking for Death

It was clearly a warm spring day in April, but a layer of frost was radiating off of Jiang Xu, sending a chill down Yu Sang's spine.

The operating room is a relatively sterile environment, yet doctors and nurses are not strictly prohibited from visiting. In the past, there have been cases where nurses showed off to the whole hospital unit as they delivered twins. However, this was the first time Sheng Fangyu visited in Zhong Lan's absence.

"Good morning, Doctor Jiang." Shen Fangyu had also changed into surgical attire, but he had not put on sterile clothes, so he must have stopped by for a while on the way to the operating room next door.

Most of those in the operating room were Jiang Xu's students. They all knew that the two of them didn't get along, especially today when Jiang Xu was not in a good mood. So, apart from a few nurses who were talking to Shen Fangyu, no one dared to pay attention to him.

But if the mountains didn't come to him, he will go to the mountains.

Shen Fangyu walked straight to Jiang Xu and looked at him incomprehensibly.

Jiang Xu supervised Yu Sang's operation, only leaving his side profile to Shen Fangyu, but Shen Fangyu's feet seemed to have taken root here, and he didn't move.

His gaze fell on Jiang Xu's face until the tips of his ears were red.

"What are you looking at?" Jiang Xu finally couldn't take it anymore and snapped.

Shen Fangyu blinked, "I'm looking at you."

Jiang Xu looked at him deeply, then turned his head and called, "Yu Sang."

Yu Sang trembled; he felt that something was wrong, so he didn't even dare to call him "Xu ge," as he usually did, and said, "What's wrong, Mr. Jiang?"

Jiang Xu's gaze fell on the neatly arranged scalpels as if he was selecting carefully, his glasses reflected the silvery white metallic light.

"Did you know that the minimum sentence for involuntary manslaughter is only a few years?"

Jiang Xu didn't like keeping his thoughts to himself; he preferred to speak directly to people about the things that bother him.

"Mr. Jiang, you shouldn't think like that." Yu Sang persuaded him with fear.

For some reason, Shen Fangyu suddenly felt a chill on her neck.

A strong foreboding feeling brought up an image in his mind; the image of a child holding up a large warning sign from a glass window, with the words "Run" written on it.

So Shen Fangyu hesitated, then politely said, "You're busy; I...will go first."

Jiang Xu glanced at Shen Fangyu's back, irritably suppressing the obvious discomfort in his body, then silently recited, "I'm a good doctor, I only save people, I don't kill people." Only then did he finally put Shen Fangyu's face out of his mind.

In the evening, after the operation, Jiang Xu left to eat his usual meal, planning to eat it in the operating room rest room. However, as soon as he sat down, he couldn't bear the pain.

He took a deep breath with a sunken face and gently and slowly adjusted his inhalation to accommodate the extremely uncomfortable pain.

Finally he calmed down a little and opened the food box. He had just eaten a few mouthfuls when he saw someone who was not afraid of death wandering around the lounge door from a distance. He prayed for three seconds that Shen Fangyu would not come in, but unfortunately, the man came in and took a cup of coffee before sitting across from him.

If not for the fact that their department was not on a high enough floor to kill Shen Fangyu and that he would be responsible for taking care of him for the rest of his life, Jiang Xu would have thrown him out the window.

Jiang Xu didn't understand what was wrong with Shen Fangyu; He hoped that Shen Fangyu would selectively forget last night's events like he did and treat him like someone he would normally have a one-night stand with.

He swore that if Shen Fangyu dared to mention even one word, he would send him to hell.

However, Shen Fangyu seemed unable to see the displeasure on his face and began to look at him meaningfully again.

Jiang Xu slammed his lunch box on the table, grabbed Shen Fangyu's collar with one hand, and raised his fist.

However, Shen Fangyu showed a happy expression instead. "You do have a mole under your eye!" He then said, as if to himself, "So, those subconsciously observed details stay in the brain for so long."

Strangely, after drinking with Jiang Xu yesterday, he dreamed about him at night. He couldn't remember much about his dream, except that there was a mole under Jiang Xu's eyes.

When he woke up in the hotel room all alone, he went to the front desk to check out and saw the room payment record on his phone, so he assumed he had slept alone all night.

However, he felt strange all morning. He never cared whether Jiang Xu had a mole under his eyes before, but when he came to the hospital, he couldn't help being curious whether there was such a mole.

His efforts to see his mole was in vain, as Jiang Xu's mask and glasses in the operating room blocked his face, and he refused to face Shen Fangyu. He didn't expect that after working for the whole day, he still couldn't forget it.

Dr. Shen was worried that he would lose sleep over it, so he decided to check Jiang Xu carefully to see whether he had this mole or not.

At the risk of almost hurting himself, he finally saw the enchanting tear mole when Jiang Xu grabbed him by the collar.

"My God! How did this fight even start!"

"Jiang ge, is everything okay?!"

Several doctors heard the noise there and broke in. Sure enough, it was Dr. Jiang and Dr. Shen again.

Their apprentices stood behind their respective teacher to provide support, the atmosphere was tense and war was about to break out.

Jiang Xu glared at Shen Fangyu, but ultimately didn't move, and said, "This is a hospital, so I won't fight with you. Come here for a match on Saturday after work, whoever doesn't come will be called grandpa."

After that, he took the lunch box, threw it into the trash can, and left. Shen Fangyu chuckled behind him, "Are your kidneys weak or did you watch too many movies last night? Your face looks pale."

Jiang Xu, whose face was covered in dark clouds, stopped in his tracks and swallowed back his words, "I think you were the one who overindulged last night," when he suddenly realized something.

Shen Fangyu seemed to have forgotten what happened last night.

Jiang Xu muttered indifferently while backing his car out of the parking space: forgetting is good, forgetting entirely

Let's not end up killing anyone

The traffic jam on the way home was terrible. As a city where workers and social people gather, rush hour in City A lives up to its name and can last from morning to midnight.

Jiang Xu was stuck in the middle of the road, unable to move forward or backward, as if the whole world was against him.

"It's okay," Jiang Xu said to himself, "it's just sleeping with Shen Fangyu. Treat this as a dog bite."

After repeatedly building up his mentality, Jiang Xu gave up resisting. He admitted that the dog bite was a bit painful, but he would never humble himself before Shen Fangyu.

He glanced out the car window and suddenly realized that he was next to the retarded "Hell Bar" from yesterday. There was still light outside, so the sign was not too conspicuous without the dazzling lights.

However, there was a group of police gathered at the entrance of Hell Bar whispering to each other, so Jiang Xu asked, "Sir, what's going on here?"

A straight-faced policeman said seriously, "This bar is suspected of selling fake liquor, and we are checking the victims."

"..." Jiang Xu: "How many years in prison will the owner be sentenced to?"

"It's hard to say, the situation is quite bad, a conservative estimate is ten years."

Good, Very good. Jiang Xu thought, it's best not to go out for the rest of your life

He withdrew his gaze expressionlessly, and after a long time, he hit his head hard on the steering wheel.

Fake alcohol is too dangerous.
