Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Ambition

The novel Global Gods: Skill – Resonance Awakened follows the story of Sunny, an ordinary delivery man who is suddenly thrust into the Multiverse of Gods. There, he discovers his overpowered (OP) talent — Skill Resonance, an SSS-grade ability that allows him to copy the talent or skill of any lifeform on his planet once every 100 years. Among all gods, Sunny stands alone with this extraordinary potential; even Adam, the Old God, cannot compare to his rate of growth. Upon ascending, Sunny takes on the divine name Cosmos, and names his planet Veridia.

In this world, time flows differently: 10,000 hours on Veridia equals only 1 hour in the realm of the Gods. All deities possess unique time concepts like this, enabling rapid planetary evolution. Thus, what appears as just a few hours to a god could encompass tens of thousands of years within their respective worlds.

Astonishingly, there are eight billion gods scattered across the vast universes, with each universe containing about 300,000 gods. Their greatest enemies are the Demons, powerful beings responsible for the downfall of many ancient gods. Because of this, the laws of the multiverse have become vacant, giving Leo the rare opportunity to claim a divine law for himself. He chooses the Law of the Sword, intending to become the Sword God. Once he fully comprehends this law, he will automatically ascend to that divine position. This is why his first goal is to visit a world centered around sword cultivation — the Sword World.

However, there exists another brutal path to godhood: one can simply slay a god and claim their throne. By doing so, the victor automatically inherits the divine authority of the fallen god. This truth is only revealed in the later chapters by Adam. Additionally, demigods can ascend to godhood if they are recognized by a specific law.

I originally planned to travel to the Demon Slayer world to learn their breathing techniques and swordsmanship. After mastering those, I intended to move on to the Jobless Reincarnation world to study even more sword styles, then journey through other worlds to gain experience and deepen my understanding. Eventually, I would comprehend the Law and build my own family — that was my plan of action.

But the system had other ideas. Instead of following my intended path, it sent me to the Attack on Titan world. Still, I'm not complaining — after all, surviving there will also help me grow stronger.

Just as I was about to continue my thoughts, a voice called out to me.

"Leonardo Frost, are you really going away?"

I turned toward the voice and saw Thorn standing there. I looked at him, nodded, and said, "Yeah, for a while, Thorn."

He stared at me for a moment before asking again, "When will you be back?"

I shrugged slightly. "Hmm, I don't know, Thorn."

A few weeks ago, I decided to give myself a new name — Leonardo Frost. I added a little twist to my original name, and ever since then, others have started naming themselves too, following after me.

Thorn and I have become good friends over time. We talk almost every day.

I saw the worry on Thorn's face. Placing a hand on his shoulder, I gave him a firm pat before pulling him into a tight hug.

"You're gonna be fine," I said quietly.

He returned the gesture and whispered, "Stay safe."

"Yeah, I will. Lead the others well," I replied.

"I got it," he said, his eyes filled with resolve.

This might be our final goodbye — if I die in that world. But I won't let that happen.

After we parted ways, I headed toward where my followers were gathered. Ever since I refused the title of humanity's leader, only a few remained loyal to me. Still, there were still hundreds of them left.

They had already gathered, knowing I was leaving today. Some tried to convince me to stay, but my decision was firm. I needed power — and my system could give me that power.

"Leo!" I called out.

A man stepped forward. He had tried to copy my name, shortening it to Leo. Among everyone, he was the most talented, gifted with the Clairvoyant Eyes (E-Grade) — a skill that allows its user to see over vast distances and through obstacles. I was certain that this talent could evolve one day.

I looked him in the eyes and said, "I'll entrust this sword to you. You will enforce my will. Anyone who wishes to leave — let them. Understood?"

"Yes, Lord!" he replied firmly, dropping to one knee.

"All right. It's time."

As I turned to leave, they all watched in silence. I moved away from our settlement, not wanting them to witness what would happen next.

"System, are you there?" I asked.

[I'm here, Host.]

"All right then... let's go, System."

At my command, a brilliant white light enveloped me — and in the next instant, I vanished from this world.
