I open my eyes and I'm in a bedroom I don't recognize, I get up and look around. A room with a flat screen tv on the wall, a desk with a laptop, different pairs of my favorite Jordans on the wall… is this my room? I get a knock on the door and hear my mom
"Jay!! Wake up and get ready for school"
"Alright!"
I get up and head to the bathroom and look in the mirror
"Holy shit!!"
Everything is asked for from buddy he actually made happen, i look at myself in the mirror in shock at what im looking at
"Jesus… damn buddy this is fucking crazy!"
My moms walks by
"Uhhh Jay… what are you doing"
"Ohh nothing just getting ready to wash up"
"Mhmm well hurry up"
I wash up and look through my closet, a bunch of clothes and more shoes
"Sheeesh… this is too much"
I laugh and pick out my outfit, nothing too crazy for the first day a black shirt, some jeans, no Jordans today just a pair of converse, a chain and some cologne. I grab my backpack and head out the door smiling like crazy. My brother sees me
"The fucks up with you"
"Nothing just excited for the first day of high school is all"
"I guess"
Mom drops me off at school and I walk onto the campus. Brings me back a little
"Damn… this is really happening, only it's going to be different this time around"
I see a group of guys come up to me, old teammates from the football team. One guy speaks up, Sean, I immediately recognize him.
"Ayoo what's good Jay!"
"Bro what's up Sean"
"You ready to get your freshman year started?"
I forgot Sean was already a junior when I first arrived
"Oh yeah definitely man"
"Ol big ass freshman, people gonna think you're a senior walking around here"
I laugh
"Aye it is what it is"
The bell rings and we all head to class. The day goes on until it's time for the fifth period of the day. I look at the schedule and see what class it is
"Wait… this is the class I meet Nicole in"
Nicole was my old high school crush, I asked her out on a date but that never happened, let's see what happens with how I look now. I walk in and see her in the same spot with light brown hair, brown eyes, braces. I walk up and she looks up at me and smiles, I smile back. The she says something
"Hey I'm Nicole"
"Oh hey I'm Jay"
"Nice to meet you Jay"
"Nice to meet you too… is it cool if i sit here?"
"Yeah go ahead"
She looks at me up and down with a eyebrow raised and smiling
"You're a freshman??"
I look at her and laugh
"Yeah.. just a lot of working out and my family is big so"
"I see, you play football huh?"
"Obviously. I bet you play sports too"
"Oh yeah.. what sport?"
"Hmmm by looking at you, I'm going to say softball"
"Good guess, how you figure that out?"
"Just a lucky guess… and you also have the softball backpack right there"
She laughs
"You're funny Jay… are you on varsity or jv?"
"I start on JV but I'll be suiting up on varsity and could get some plays if we're up big… but I'll be starting on varsity soon"
"Oh well I'll be there on Friday hopefully i get to see you play"
"Yeah me too"
Soon class starts and it drags on until the final bell, I walk out and Nicole come up beside me
"So where you going now Jay?"
"Sixth period is weightlifting, so to the locker room to change"
"Ok well I'll see you later Jay"
She smiles and waves
"Yeah see you"
I head to the locker room and get changed for lifting. I snap my fingers three times real quick and times stops, I hear buddy behind me
"Already?"
"Bro… I know you're watching me"
"Of course.."
"Did you see how I'm already getting treated by Nicole just because of how I look now"
"Yeah but then again you have more confidence now also"
"Yeah true, so how you think everything's going to turn out?"
"I don't know but I'm sure it's going to be just fine" he says with a wink
"I don't like that wink…."
"See you later Jay"
He disappears and time starts again, I head to the weight room and then to football practice but I still have buddys wink on my mind… does he know something i don't know.
