Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 The Right Kind Of Terror

Sally's POV

Sleep refused to come despite hours of restless shifting beneath the covers. Something deep inside me, an unexplainable pull, whispered that Philip and Karl would be awake downstairs.

I descended the staircase and turned left toward the living room. The doorway stood open, revealing both brothers exactly where my instincts said they would be.

Why am I doing this?

Every rational part of my mind screamed that this was foolish, but sleepless nights demanded answers, and sitting alone with my spiraling thoughts felt worse than confronting whatever waited in that room.

"Can't rest?" Karl's voice carried across the space, and I shook my head in response.

"My mind won't quiet down. Everything's shifting too fast," I replied, biting back the urge to spill every anxious thought that had kept me staring at the ceiling.
