Sandy's POV
The pain should have registered, but instead my head felt weightless, my body swaying as an inexplicable fire burned beneath my skin.
When his tongue traced the tip of my finger, my legs nearly gave out. His strong hand caught my hip, steadying me. I collapsed against his chest, breathing in his intoxicating scent that made my head spin.
"Charles—" I attempted to object, but his name escaped as a breathy whimper, a desperate plea for something I couldn't name.
Waves of pleasure coursed through me, crackling under my skin like electricity that threatened to consume me entirely. Charles let out a low, primal growl that sent tremors racing down my spine. In one swift motion, he lifted me onto the kitchen counter.
My thighs fell apart without my permission, and he stepped between them, pressing his hardness against the ache between my legs. A broken sound tore from my throat.
This felt like heaven.
