Chapter 114 - Fury's Doubts, Mjolnir Appears

After listening to what Kaecilius said, Ancient One asked, "Kaecilius, have you thought it through? This path is very dangerous; one wrong step could lead to eternal damnation."

Kaecilius said with a firm expression, "Teacher, I have already thought it through."

"Then I won't stop you. Do whatever you want to do."

Ancient One said, "If you regret it midway, I will do my best to help you get out. Remember, you are my disciple."

"Thank you, Teacher."

Kaecilius bowed respectfully. Then, he hesitated for a moment and asked hopefully, "Teacher, can you teach me that white, ahem, that spell that absorbs dark power without paying a price?"

"You don't have the talent for that. That Demon King does."

Ancient One replied, somewhat annoyed. Kaecilius was very disappointed. He didn't say much, stood up, and took his leave. Then, he returned to his room and contacted the Demon King.

...

One month later, S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters!

Nick Fury has been a bit troubled recently. On one hand, media outlets led by Horn TV Station have been attacking S.H.I.E.L.D. Although he used the big move of Captain America, S.H.I.E.L.D. is still at the center of the storm, with protest teams even appearing outside the Headquarters.

On the other hand, the choice for the Commander of the New York Special Command has been undecided. Everyone knows it's a position for taking the blame, and no one is willing to take it.

Additionally, because he prematurely announced Captain America's revival, some people are very dissatisfied with him, believing it could put Captain America in danger.

"HYDRA was long gone. What danger could Captain America be in?"

Nick Fury was very dismissive. Besides these issues, there was one more thing that made Fury indecisive—the matter of investing in Dr. Reed.

Nick Fury used to not believe the saying that those who invest in Dr. Reed would not end well. The problem is, as soon as S.H.I.E.L.D. invested in Dr. Reed, the Isolated Island Prison erupted in a riot, and eventually, the entire prison sank into the sea.

This really made Nick Fury a bit nervous. Although S.H.I.E.L.D. has money, it can't be wasted like this. An Isolated Island Prison costs at least several billion U.S. dollars—though he could embezzle a good amount from it.

"Let's wait and see. Maybe it's just a coincidence. The Fantastic Three are still very useful."

Nick Fury thought for a moment and called Natasha to ask about the mission's progress.

"We can't find any trace of that metal-armed man. Also, Ivan and Obadiah seem to have vanished into thin air."

Natasha said helplessly. For the past two or three months, she had been tracking Ivan and them, which was also why she didn't participate in the Battle of New York.

"With S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intelligence capabilities, you can't find any trace at all? This seems problematic no matter how you look at it, right?"

Nick Fury frowned and hung up the phone. Just then, Hill walked in and said, "Susan just called Barbara, asking her to cancel Andrew Wang's recent meetings. According to Susan, Andrew Wang is preparing to leave New York to travel."

Mockingbird Barbara is a high-ranking Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., constantly lurking in Rebirth Group, responsible for monitoring Andrew Wang's whereabouts. To avoid being discovered by Andrew Wang, she has always tried to avoid him.

"Andrew Wang wants to go traveling?"

Nick Fury's expression changed slightly. Andrew Wang is equivalent to a nuclear weapon; him wandering around is very dangerous. Moreover, if he leaves and something happens in New York, who will save New York?

"Someone must follow Andrew Wang."

Nick Fury was deep in thought when Coulson called. Nick Fury asked, "Coulson, is there a problem with the hammer?"

Two days ago, a hammer fell from the sky onto a mountain near the town of Ampt Antigol in New Mexico. Coulson rushed there overnight to cordon off the area and investigate.

"That hammer has no other problems, except that no one can pick it up."

Coulson said, "Just now, a blond strong man broke into the base to get the hammer. He was very powerful; the Agents couldn't stop him at all. However, he also couldn't pick up the hammer.

This incident seemed to hit him hard. He knelt on the ground in despair, allowing us to capture him."

Nick Fury said impatiently, "The key point."

Coulson said, "The key point is that this blond strong man was shouting earlier in the town that he was the Son of Odin."

"Son of Odin?"

Nick Fury's gaze sharpened. If it were before, he would have just thought the person was crazy. The problem is, Andrew Wang said that Odin truly exists.

Nick Fury asked, "Do you think it's real or fake?"

"That hammer is very similar to Mjolnir in the books."

Coulson said, "However, that strong man is only a bit stronger than an ordinary person; he doesn't have the power of a god to destroy the world."

"We cannot be careless, Coulson. Find out his true identity as soon as possible. If he really is the Son of Odin, then this matter is troublesome."

Nick Fury thought for a moment and said, "Andrew Wang said that Asgard is Earth's suzerain."

"Then do I have to bow to him?"

Coulson smiled and said, "I hope he's just a madman."

Hanging up the phone, Nick Fury had a headache. Andrew Wang knew about Asgard's intelligence, but the problem was that S.H.I.E.L.D. was evil in his eyes, and he wouldn't share intelligence with S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Director, perhaps we can send Captain America to try."

Hill suggested, "Captain America is God's righteous man, with no evil in him. Andrew Wang should be willing to communicate with him."

"Captain America? We can try."

Nick Fury thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. After this period of recuperation, Captain America has regained his mobility and can go out on missions.

At the same time, at the location of Mjolnir, Loki, dressed in a dark green suit, appeared in the cage where Thor was imprisoned. He was quite good in all aspects except for a slightly high hairline.

To keep Thor on Earth forever, Loki deceived Thor, saying, "Thor, Father is dead, and Mother is unwilling to forgive you. You have been completely banished."

"What? I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."

Thor was filled with immense guilt, even shedding tears like a tough man. Loki's mood was somewhat complex. He feigned a heavy demeanor and said, "Farewell, my brother."

After speaking, Loki disappeared, leaving only Thor grieving in the cage.

"This way, Asgard will be mine. I will prove to Odin and Frigga that I am the most suitable King for Asgard."

After leaving the cage, a look of joy appeared on Loki's face. He thought for a moment and walked to Mjolnir. Although there were many Agents around, no one could see him.

Then, Loki gripped the hammer handle and pulled it up forcefully, but the hammer didn't budge. Loki tried several times with the same result. He cursed in annoyance, "Broken hammer."

Unable to lift Mjolnir, Loki prepared to leave. Just then, a playful voice sounded, "You still haven't discovered Odin's plot, Loki. You, the God of Lies and Mischief, are truly unworthy of your title."

"Who?"

Loki spun his head sharply and saw an old gentleman standing behind him. The surrounding Agents also couldn't see this old gentleman.
