While Todd was busy with his preparations, I found myself stuck in police custody for three endless days.
The two kidnappers Webster had helped catch suddenly flipped their story after initially pointing fingers at Lionel. Now they claimed everything was my idea.
They even produced a video showing me handing them cash—supposed "evidence" of bribery.
Despite this so-called smoking gun, I maintained my innocence through countless interrogation sessions over those three brutal days. I kept telling them I was being set up.
For seventy-two hours straight, I barely left the corner of my detention cell except to eat, use the bathroom, or face another round of questioning.
I'd try to close my eyes and rest, but every tiny noise had me jolting awake, muscles tensed and ready.
Sleep was impossible. My eyes burned red, dark circles carved deep beneath them.
