Sallie's POV
Kevin's fingers suddenly clamped around my hand with vicious intent. The sharp crack of bone snapping cut through the chaos like a gunshot.
White-hot agony drained every drop of blood from my face.
I bit back any sound, but my grip on Jill's hair loosened involuntarily. She scrambled away from me, diving into Zora's protective embrace like a wounded animal seeking shelter.
Harvey and Kevin flanked them like sentries, their faces twisted with fury and suspicion. They looked like devoted guardians shielding their precious princess.
And there I stood—cast as the villain in their twisted fairy tale.
Kevin's typically composed mask had cracked, revealing raw anger underneath. "Have you completely lost it, Sallie?"
"Yeah, I have. Thanks to you." I locked eyes with him, letting every ounce of my hatred show.
