I didn't hesitate—I landed three sharp slaps one after another.
The crack echoed so loudly that everyone nearby seemed to flinch as if they'd taken the hits themselves.
Most people at this birthday gathering were the kind who obsessed over appearances.
Fighting was out of the question—even loud arguments were beneath them. My actions must have looked absolutely unhinged to them.
Maybe my fierce energy intimidated everyone, because nobody dared interfere. They just stood there watching Jill's cheek puff up after only two strikes.
With obvious contempt, I shoved Jill backward.
She stumbled several steps before crashing down hard on her rear.
While everyone was distracted, I quietly tucked a few strands of hair I'd grabbed into my pocket. Looking down at Jill, I said coldly, "This is how I'd handle you if I really wanted to."
