Sallie's POV
The invitation didn't just show the standard time and location—it had an additional name printed in bold capital letters: "T." Elana's personal signature was scrawled at the bottom.
Wait, Sallie is Zion? Elana invited her personally? Despite her usual acting skills, Jill couldn't maintain her composure this time—her expression shifted immediately.
The people clustered behind her remained oblivious, stretching their necks for a better view. One muttered, "Let me see that invitation myself."
Before they could finish speaking, Jill slammed the invitation closed and reflexively concealed it behind her back.
She plastered on an expression of false sincerity and innocence. "The invitation's genuine. I examined it personally. Seems we misjudged you, Sallie. You're not angry with us, are you?"
I wasn't interested in her theatrical performance. I extended my hand simply. "Return my invitation."
