The Noah Family's arrival sparked an instant frenzy of warm greetings from everyone gathered.
Jill basked in the spotlight as the birthday girl, soaking up all the attention while she strutted into the hotel like she owned the place.
I climbed out of the car last, wearing nothing but a cheap shirt and jeans. Not a single person even glanced my way.
Salome spotted me though, and I could see her mouth opening like she wanted to say something nasty. But whatever cruel comment she had ready died on her lips. Instead, she shot me a look that could kill before rushing after Jill. I could tell from her expression that she was plotting something against me tonight.
I had no clue what anyone was planning, but I knew enough to be careful.
Once I got inside the hotel, I scanned the security cameras positioned around the room, then found myself a quiet corner to camp out in.
