Chapter 9 - Chapter 7: Reward Has Been Issued, Please Check and Confirm

Feng Mu took a deep breath, bent down, and first pulled out a sheet from his backpack, spreading it flat on the ground.

Then, Feng Mu stripped the corpse of its clothes, neatly folded them, and placed them aside, swapping its shoes with his own on his feet.

Next, Feng Mu carefully moved the body onto the sheet, wrapping it tightly like a mummy.

Finally, Feng Mu took out a hammer from his backpack.

Thud, thud, the sound of hammering fell, muffled slightly by the clothes.

The blood-drained, dehydrated corpse, further eroded by demonic forces, differed from a normal corpse, feeling more like… the dried chicken he had eaten in a past life.

The meat was rotten, easily separating from the bones, which were brittle and cracked with a hit, shattering with another.

"The descriptions in the knowledge about [Blood and Iron Sacrifice] in my mind basically match."

Feng Mu tried it out, confirming that the feedback from the corpse aligned with the new knowledge points he learned, finally easing the tension in his heart.

This was the most critical step, and if something went wrong, he would have to resort to another solution, which was relatively more time-consuming and troublesome.

Fortunately, the knowledge instilled by the system into his mind was able to withstand practical verification.

"The final part of the male corpse just involves monotonous physical repetition, while for the female corpse, only a little adjustment is needed, hmm, aim to finish by lunch break."

Feng Mu focused his mind, meticulously executing his plan.

He didn't finish by noon.

After school in the afternoon, Feng Mu had to spend another hour in the warehouse.

The task turned out to be bigger than Feng Mu anticipated.

After all, even a corpse turned into dried chicken is no easy task, just the repeated swinging of the hammer required over a hundred times.

Additionally, dealing with the scene traces required special meticulousness, even more exhausting than mechanical physical repetition.

"First time, lacking experience, next time, I should be much more proficient, ah, why am I even thinking about the next time, spit, spit, spit."

Feng Mu climbed out through the window, looped back to the school building restroom, changed back into his own shoes in the stall, a bulky backpack on his back, he leisurely strolled out of the school.

At this time, there were still some scattered students and teachers about to leave on the playground, and Feng Mu blended in without being conspicuous.

Returning home, it was just him and his mother.

Feng Mu used the excuse of an upset stomach to skip dinner and slipped back to his room, locking the door from the inside.

He sat at his desk, took out pen and paper, and as he recalled meticulously, he recorded all of today's actions on paper.

Just like checking answers and estimating scores after an exam, Feng Mu repeatedly reviewed the records in his mind, finally exhaling a long breath.

He didn't tear up the paper and throw it in the trash can; instead, he crumpled it into a ball, along with a few Iron Beads, and gulped them down hard.

Truly hiding the secret in his stomach in the physical sense!

"Alright, next is to find a place to dispose of the other party's relics and bone fragments."

Feng Mu glanced at the backpack, unzipped it, and took out the clothes, shoes, wallet, cell phone, and claw hammer inside.

After some thought, he pulled out an old bag from the closet, packed the clothes, shoes, and wallet, tied it up well.

On the way to school tomorrow, he would find a place to bury it.

Throwing it in a trash can outside was out of the question, as Lower City District 9 had many vagrants, scavengers, and elderly people who would occasionally "loot" the trash cans.

As for the phone, Feng Mu planned to hide it separately, just in case he would need it in the future.

Regarding the "dried meat" wrapped in the sheet in his backpack, Feng Mu needed to handle it more cautiously.

Because merely using the claw hammer could not completely bash it into bone ash, otherwise he could just scatter it with the wind; now, if someone found bone fragments, they could faintly identify the species.

Burying it wasn't safe either.

More than once at the dinner table, Feng Ju had complained about hungry stray dogs in some neighborhood digging up human bones, adding to the Patrol Office's workload.

Ultimately blaming those scavengers for occupying the stray dogs' habitat.

In short, with a Chief Constable living at home, Feng Mu inadvertently developed a counter-scouting awareness.

"Most importantly, thanks to the 3000 episodes of 'Detective Conan' from the past life, Omigod~"

Feng Mu reorganized his backpack, pulling out a stack of test papers from the drawer, putting them on top of the sheet, then covering them with a pen pouch.

Casually placing the backpack on the chair, Feng Mu stretched lazily, lying back on the newly laid sheet, closing his eyes to rest.

[You have completed the disposal of a corpse, handling the whole process cleanly and gracefully, matching the character's identity.]

[Game Inheritance Level increased, the inheritance level increased to 1% this time.]

[The current reward has been issued, please check!]

Feng Mu: "..."

The surprise came so unexpectedly, but on second thought, wasn't corpse disposal an extremely heinous act~

A perfect match for the system's definition and expectation of his identity!

Feng Mu waited for a while but didn't notice any new knowledge instilled in his head nor any peculiar changes like feeling cold or hot, finding it very strange.

"So it isn't knowledge or skills directly transmitted to me as a reward?"

Feng Mu speculated in his mind,

"Then it must be external belongings, like assets, items, operating forces, subordinates, etc., so which one could it be."

Feng Mu licked his lips, feeling both anticipated and regretful.

Anticipated because external belongings are the essence of this management game, and the reward has been issued,

Regretful because the reward wasn't completely issued, there was a delay in receiving it.

"Where has the reward been issued to, and how should I collect it, system, give me a hint." Feng Mu silently asked.

The system didn't respond, clearly not providing customer service functions.

With no answer, Feng Mu had no choice but to get up from the bed, seizing the time to digest.

Lower City's Thirteenth Set of Fundamental Body Forging Exercise begins now.

He turned on the computer, put on headphones, and clicked on a video with the highest view count, slowly moving to the extended beats inside, "One—two—three—four—".

It wasn't the video lagging; he had set it to play at 1/3 speed.

The time three times the progress bar flowed, and Feng Mu gradually sweated like rain.

Three hours passed, Feng Mu felt his muscles aching, and his whole body was drenched.

Feng Mu kind of wanted to stop and rest, the warm bed was beckoning him, he hurriedly pulled out a handful of Iron Beads from his pocket and swallowed them whole.

The chill flowing down his esophagus, the intense satiety driving away his drowsiness.

[Edibility increased↑]

[Edibility increased↑]

[Current Edibility 1.1%]

Others trained needing to maintain hunger, otherwise easily suffering from post-meal drowsiness, Feng Mu was the opposite, he needed to continuously replenish to extract Edibility with a sense of satiety.

The flashing "↑" on the retina was more invigorating than any motivation in the world.

A few more hours passed, both outside the window and inside were dark, the shroud of night seemed to have gained a buff, persistently casting spells on Feng Mu.

Feng Mu had lost count of how many times he had gone through it, only feeling his entire body weighted like lead, his eyes occasionally glancing at the bed.

However, countering this was the faster flashing frequency of "↑" on the retina.

The more tired, the more exhausted, the stronger the effect of going through it once, the more space freed in his stomach, the faster the frequency of Edibility increase, the stronger the motivation, the stronger the will, thus, more able to resist sleep, resist fatigue.

Indeed a situation of Dao one foot higher, demon ten feet higher, drowsiness and will forming a spiraling upward balance.

Until, 4 a.m.

Feng Mu's body reached its limit, his eyes closed, collapsing onto the bed, instantly falling asleep, the flashing on the retina stopped, concluding the day's data.
