Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The City

The darkness was faded into pale morning light. Kang Mo sat beneath a massive blue-leaved tree, the silver sword beside him was shining, the.

His breath was steady now. The power of Qi still hummed within his veins.

"So this is real," he whispered again. "Another world with a System that talks."

He looked around the endless forest — glowing plants, mist curling around the roots of towering trees. The beauty was unreal, but also unnerving.

"Alright, System," he said, standing and stretching. "If this is really a cultivation world… I can't stay in a jungle forever."

[Acknowledged. Host want to explore.]

"Yeah. Do you have any… a map or something?"]

[Scanning…]

[Mapping area within 1000 li radius.]

[Detected: 10 cultivation points for maping.]

"Cultivation points?" Kang Mo frowned. "What's that?"

[Host may earn Cultivation Points by achieving new milestones, exploring new regions, and overcoming challenges. Cultivation Points can be exchanged for skills, items, or direct improvement of Qi.]

A new blue panel blinked into view before him:

[Cultivation Points: 100 (Starting Balance)]

Kang Mo's eyes widened. "I can buy power with this?"

[Correct. Power, items, or cultivation progress.]

He grinned slightly. "Then I just became a player in a real-world RPG…"

Another holographic line formed on the map. A glowing dot pulsed to the northeast.

[Nearest human settlement detected: 23

kilometers from current position.]

"Perfect. A city." He tightened his grip on the sword and adjusted his robe. "Let's go."

Three hours later, Kang Mo finally stepped out of the forest. The trees thinned, replaced by a vast grassland shimmering under the afternoon sun. In the distance rose towering walls of stone — each carved with golden talismans that glowed faintly.

His jaw dropped.

"That's… huge."

The city stretched far beyond what he could see — tall spires, floating lanterns, and a faint shimmer of protective energy covering the walls like glass.

As he walked down the dirt path toward the gate, the System chimed.

[New Achievement Unlocked: First Human Settlement Explored.]

[Reward: 10,000 Lower-Grade Spirit Stones, Spider-Silk Robe (3rd Tier).]

Before his eyes, the air shimmered — a pile of glowing spirit stones and a folded set of black robes appeared. He held up the robe; it was light, smooth, and warm, with faint silver lines running across the fabric.

"Spider silk… from a 3rd-tier monster?" His lips curved. "This world's really something."

He swapped his old clothes for the new robe. Instantly, it adjusted to his form, wrapping him in faint spiritual light.

As he reached the gates, the guards' eyes widened.

One of them — a young man in iron armor — stepped forward quickly. "Esteemed one, welcome to Yueran City. Please, proceed."

Kang Mo blinked. "Uh… thanks?"

He had no idea why they were so polite — until he realized their eyes kept darting to his robe.

[System note: Spider-Silk Robes of this tier are luxury items reserved for sect elites and nobles.]

"…Ah." He smiled awkwardly and handed over two lower-grade spirit stones when asked for an entry toll.

The guards bowed slightly and waved him through.

Inside, Yueran City was dazzling.

Wide streets paved with jade stone. Floating lanterns that never dimmed. Stalls selling pills, swords, beast eggs — things Kang Mo had only read about in novels.

Everywhere he looked, people wore robes and carried weapons. The air itself felt thick with Qi.

He pulled up his System panel and glanced around. Above each person's head floated faint blue text — their cultivation realm.

[Qi Refinement Stage 3]

[Foundation Building (Middle Stage)]

[Body Tempering Stage 9]

His heart skipped a beat when he noticed a man in white armor walking nearby — the label above him read:

[Foundation Building – Middle Level]

"So this is the real deal…" he murmured.

After some wandering, Kang Mo found a small restaurant tucked between two tall pagodas. The aroma drifting from inside was too good to resist.

He sat down and ordered what the owner called Spirit Beast Noodles and Moondew Tea.

The taste was heavenly — rich, soft, slightly glowing in his bowl. Each bite made his body feel refreshed.

When he was done, he asked the smiling owner, "How much for this meal?"

"Ten copper coins, young master," the man said politely.

Kang Mo blinked. "Uh… I don't have coins. I only have Spirit Stones."

The owner chuckled. "That's fine, young master. I can exchange them for you. One lower-grade Spirit Stone equals one thousand copper coins."

Kang Mo nodded and handed over ten Spirit Stones. The owner quickly returned a small pouch filled with coins — neat and shiny.

[Exchange complete: 10 Spirit Stones → 10,000 Copper Coins.]

With a satisfied sigh, Kang Mo stepped out of the restaurant, tossing one copper coin into the air.

"Not bad. I could get used to this."

Following the map, he found a tall building made of white marble — the Pavilion of Exchange. Inside, clerks in blue robes managed glowing counters.

He stepped forward and exchanged a thousand Spirit Stones for silver coins.

[Exchange complete: 1,000 Spirit Stones → 10,000 Silver Coins.]

[Conversion Rate: 1 Gold = 100 Silver | 1 Silver = 100 Copper.]

Wealth flowed through his System panel like numbers in a game.

By evening, he checked into a luxurious inn — soft carpets, floating lights, and spiritual energy flowing through every wall.

The receptionist bowed deeply as she handed him a key. "Enjoy your stay, young master."

Kang Mo smiled faintly and walks toward his room. When he closed the door, the soft hum of the System echoed again:

[Day Summary: New World Adaptation Successful.]

[Total Spirit Stones: 8,990.]

[Current Cultivation: Qi Refinement Stage 1.]

[Next Goal: ???]

He fell onto the bed, staring at the ceiling.
