"Doria!"
Wielding his chakra blade, Asuma swung a punch at the enemy but missed. After dodging the counterattack, he relied on agile footwork to quickly close the distance again.
"Are all Konoha ninja this rude, attempting to compete in taijutsu with a grown man like me?"
The towering male ninja, nearly rivaling the Akimichi Clan in size, shook his sandbag-sized fists, completely dismissing Asuma.
"Tch, idiot—nothing but muscle."
On the other side, one of the enemy jōnin saw through Asuma's attack pattern and mentally sentenced his teammate to death.
Even so, he had no intention of intervening.
It wasn't callousness—he and the other two jōnin were all being held at bay by the Konoha ninja in the black coat. No, not just restrained—the three of them were barely withstanding his assault.
"Kikaichū... Aburame Clan, huh? Truly troublesome."
Having to guard against surprise insect attacks while dodging thrown ninja tools, the three jōnin were overwhelmed.
Fortunately, their team still had another jōnin who should help the chūnin eliminate those three damned brats. Then all four could focus on taking down this Aburame.
"Vulture, pick up the pace! They're just three kids—can't you handle them yet?"
Slapping away a kikaichū that had crawled onto his hand, the jōnin shouted his teammate's codename in frustration.
"Damn it, why don't you try fighting this brat yourself!"
Vulture ignored the call, focusing entirely on the countless ice mirrors surrounding him.
Feng Bai was concealed within one of the ice mirrors, searching for an opening.
Should I use Frozen Cloud again? No, the enemy's already seen that technique—it probably won't be effective...
Better change the terrain first.
"Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave!"
Emerging from the ice mirror, Feng Bai took a deep breath and expelled massive volumes of water, forming a tsunami that crashed toward Vulture. Faced with such a sudden large-scale offensive jutsu, Vulture couldn't react in time and fled in disarray.
Two chūnin were caught in the deluge, instantly submerged. Before they could surface, the encroaching chill warned them they were being frozen into ice sculptures.
"Ice Release: Ice Age."
Creating the water basin and instantly freezing enemies while they were submerged—if combined with Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave, this could annihilate an entire enemy unit.
"Unbelievable... does a kid this age really possess such chakra reserves?"
One foot frozen, Vulture hastily circulated his internal chakra, enduring the agony of skin being stripped away as he yanked his leg free before the ice could spread further.
Dragging his bloodied right leg, the jōnin advanced instead of retreating, planning to exploit Feng Bai's vulnerability after using ninjutsu: "You're still too young, brat. You may have advantages from your chakra reserves, but the gap in battle experience isn't something chakra can compensate for!"
"Wind Release: Sand Dust!"
Using sand mist to obscure Feng Bai's vision, Vulture drew his ninja blade and hurled a kunai with an explosive tag attached. The angle was so devious it forced Feng Bai to abandon the ice mirror beside him.
At this distance, you won't have time to summon a new ice mirror!
Having grasped the Demonic Ice Crystal Mirrors' principle from brief combat, Vulture smiled confidently and launched his attack from a blind spot.
Facing the charging blade, Feng Bai formed a single-handed seal. Under his opponent's bewildered gaze, he vanished from Vulture's sight.
"What kind of technique is that?!"
His strike hitting empty air, Vulture assumed a defensive stance while searching for Feng Bai's location.
After scanning the area, Vulture successfully spotted Feng Bai near an ice mirror atop a tree to the west.
That shouldn't be possible—there was no ice mirror beside him. How did he...
The ice mirror indeed couldn't be summoned in time, but Flying Thunder God could.
Glancing at the Flying Thunder God formula on the ice mirror, Feng Bai didn't explain his abilities like in anime. Instead, while the enemy was still off-balance, he launched his next assault: "Ice Release: Scattered Lotus!"
Using the ice he'd already created, Feng Bai manipulated countless razor-sharp ice crystal petals, sending them howling toward Vulture.
Such wide-range attacks were undoubtedly lethal for someone with compromised mobility. Dragging his mangled leg, Vulture tried desperately to evade the petal barrage but was ultimately engulfed.
"Secret Technique: Insect Swamp."
Elsewhere, Aburame Ryōma caught an opening in one enemy and directly dragged him into the insect swamp.
Three against one, none could match Ryōma. Now reduced to a duo, the two remaining jōnin naturally couldn't withstand his offensive and could only watch helplessly as their bodies were devoured by kikaichū.
"Doria, Ora!"
Coating his chakra blade with wind-nature chakra and utilizing the invisibly extended range, Asuma slashed his opponent's throat, then looked toward Obito, who was still engaged with the final enemy.
Obito was currently dueling the last opponent. Seeing all his teammates fall, this enemy's movements gradually lost coordination, ultimately allowing Obito to stab him under the arm with a kunai.
"Whew, it's finally over."
Breathing heavily, Obito collapsed onto the ground.
"Don't let your guard down. What if the enemy has reinforcements?" Asuma maintained vigilance, positioning himself advantageously for observation while guarding against the next wave of attacks.
Feng Bai released his Ice Release, freeing the two he'd frozen, only to discover they'd already suffocated in the icy sea.
After confirming all present enemies were thoroughly dead, Feng Bai shrugged, then kicked Obito's rear: "You talk big, but it's still the same three moves—Great Fireball plus taijutsu. Didn't you spend all this time with Jiraiya? Didn't learn anything from him?"
"Ow, don't kick my butt! And who says I didn't learn anything? My taijutsu has improved considerably, hasn't it?" Rolling over and clutching his posterior, Obito whined weakly in defense.
"No enemies detected nearby for now. Let's rest briefly."
Sending kikaichū to scout a five-kilometer radius and finding no anomalies, Aburame Ryōma recalled his insects and signaled the others could rest momentarily.
"Then you handle the watch, Asuma."
Sitting cross-legged on the ground, Feng Bai didn't stand on ceremony and began recovering his chakra.
As the one who'd used ninjutsu most frequently among them, Feng Bai's chakra consumption wasn't as substantial as expected.
His choice to recover was entirely because, with Tsunade's assistance, he'd successfully mastered the "Yin Seal"—a chakra storage technique—giving him the habit of accumulating chakra at every opportunity.
