Chapter 1 - Prologue - Summoning Ceremony (1)

Banquet Hall Moore Mansion:

The Grand Hall glowed under the crystal chandeliers. A live jazz trio played soft music in the corner. Guests, dressed in sleek tuxedos and long, sparkling gowns, spoke in hushed tones, their conversation blending with the quiet melody.

Near the wall, four guests were visibly drunk. They laughed too loudly and knocked a glass of red wine onto the white carpet.

"Ha Ha Ha, now this is called a party".

"Look at all these beautiful women with long exposed legs. Where else can one see a sight as exciting as this?"

Their aggressive voices cut sharply through the polite sound of the party, making other guests turn their heads.

"Hey, what are you looking at?" One of them quickly barked out at the onlookers.

"WHAT DO YOU IDIOTS THINK YOU ARE DOING?"

Two massive bouncers in black suits instantly moved across the floor. They took each man by the arm in a firm, non-negotiable grip.

"We are the Fontaine family," one man yelled, struggling and trying to appeal to them with his status. The other threatened, "How dare you act so brazenly! One word from us and you will not have a job tomorrow!"

The bouncers dragged the four troublemakers by their collars all the way to the Moore Mansion gates, ignoring their struggles along the way.

As they threw the troublemakers out, the head bouncer spoke out curtly.

"Tell George Fontaine that he has failed to discipline his kids. He shall hear from us soon."

Without another word, the Head bouncer signalled for his colleagues to go back, leaving the four lying in the cold road.

Inside the party settled back into its smooth, quiet rhythm.

The head bouncer approached a beautiful young girl dressed in a luxurious black sequin maxi dress. Her chestnut hair was neatly tied into a bun and studded with diamonds.

(Casey POV)

"Is it done? "

I asked casually as I took a sip of Maison Leroy.

The bouncer bowed as he spoke.

"Yes, young miss. They are taken care of."

"I will send a letter to George Fontaine to ensure that this never happens again."

"Hmm"

Without paying any further attention, I walked away.

A mere Fontaine family, belonging to a top human knight, was not worth my time.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Casey Moore, the first child and one of the two daughters of my father, Alfred Moore.

Though this might seem like just an ordinary party of the upper echelons of society, the truth is, we are anything but ordinary.

My Father is the current leader of the Vampire clan, one of the strongest clans among the forces of the demons.

Even though the world is mostly populated by humans, there are two other factions - one of gods and the other of demons. And for centuries, the three have been in constant conflict.

While we have a natural enmity with the clans of the Gods faction, it is not that way when humans are concerned.

We demons are not inherently bad, unlike how humans are made to think about us. We live and fight for our own interests, just like any other race would.

However, over the years, humans have also come to regard us as enemies.

However, most of it does not concern us. Our Moore Family is at the very top of the Demonic clans, and we are one of the most feared families in the world.

In fact, I personally do not mind the other races at all.

As long as they do not cross me, I don't care. Their lives or deaths had nothing to do with me.

But wait, why am I thinking all of this? Today is an important day!!

Today is the day I, Casey Moore, will finally summon my first familiar.

After all, this is my familiar summoning party.

"Casey!! There you are."

Suddenly, a sweet, masculine voice reaches my ears, calling out to me. I turn back and immediately beam when I see the person behind me.

"Dave!!"

There he was, Dave Krawler.

He was wearing a sleek black tuxedo with his hair neatly parted on both sides. His eyes were of a stunning black color, powerful enough to make you lose yourself if you looked into them for too long.

A slight shade of red crept up onto my face when I looked at his dazzling figure once again.

"My dear Casey. Mind telling me why you are here all alone by yourself?" Dave walked forward with a smile on his face and with his glass raised.

"Dave, there were some troublemakers at the party. I was just getting rid of them." I raised my own glass to meet him.

"What? Troublemakers on the very day when my Fiancée is going to summon her familiar? Who has become tired of living? I will order someone to wipe them from the face of the earth." Dave immediately flared up in rage.

"Hush. It was nothing serious. I have already dealt with them."

"How can it not be serious? Tell me who it was. How dare they trouble my future wife?"

"Wife??" As soon as I heard that word escape his mouth, I could feel my face grow even redder, and I looked away.

"Eh? Do you not like it when I call you that?" Dave asked, as if slightly troubled.

"N…No. It is fine. It is just… I don't know if I am ready for marriage." I spoke shyly, somehow unsure as to how he was speaking so freely today.

Usually, he would be much more reserved.

"Don't worry. Our marriage will be phenomenal. It will be something that will be celebrated across the entire world. Once you are my wife, I will make you my queen among the Obsidion Wolfs, and we will rule together forever."

Dave whispered softly and extended his arms, calling me into his embrace.

"Hmmm."

This was the moment I had dreamt about, cuddling in Dave's warm embrace as I forgot about everything else.

I did not know what changed, nor did I care.

I slowly started walking into his embrace, ready to feel the heat of his body against mine…

…when I heard another sharp call.

"Dear lord satan, sister, can you please get a room?"

"Amelia…"
