Chapter 273 - A Dark Horse?

"As expected of Jura-san, to be able to block even that move. Well then, I suppose I should get serious now."

As Takeshi spoke, he increased his ocular power output. The Susanoo surrounding him transformed again, donning armor over its original form.

One arm held a shield with two hands—this was the 'Yata Mirror,' a Spiritual Artifact capable of all nature transformations. It changes its attributes based on the attribute of the incoming attack to nullify it, and reflects all physical attacks.

Swoosh—

Takeshi's other arm held a gourd-like Spiritual Artifact in one hand, while the other hand gripped the sword formed by the liquor sprayed from the gourd, resembling a sword of flame.

This is the Spiritual Artifact 'Totsuka Blade,' a type of Kusanagi Sword. The blade can rapidly retract and extend, and the sword itself contains Fuinjutsu, capable of permanently sealing the stabbed target inside the gourd.

This blade was possessed by Itachi's Susanoo. Unfortunately, Itachi did not have the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and coupled with his terminal illness, he couldn't activate the Perfect Susanoo. Otherwise, his strength would have been even more immense.

Back when he fought Sasuke, Itachi was holding back more than just a little.

From beginning to end, Itachi was trying to lure Orochimaru out. He knew Orochimaru never coveted Sasuke, but rather him. He had to weaken himself, giving Orochimaru an opportunity, in order to draw him out and seal him in one move.

Of course, even without the Perfect Susanoo, Itachi's strength was already formidable. He is the only man in Naruto who never suffered a defeat.

Takeshi casually swung his arm.

Boom—

A large section of the ground suddenly exploded, and half of the Grand Magic Games Arena shattered. A massive sword mark left a bottomless trace on the ground.

"Gasp!"

Everyone who saw this scene was stunned into silence.

"Come on. Let's continue." Takeshi looked at Jura and said.

"No, no, no! Forget it! I surrender!"

Jura waved his hands frantically in fear, surrendering and admitting defeat.

Fight this monster? Are you kidding me?

Just now, his strongest defensive magic, Rock Mountain, was shattered by a single blow from Takeshi.

That was in his previous form, and this current form is clearly much stronger than before.

That casual swing of the blade shattered half the arena, leaving bottomless ravines on the ground. If it weren't for the Defensive Barrier, the sheer aftermath alone might have destroyed the audience stands.

How could he possibly fight? He was here to fight, not to be abused. A true fight requires equal strength.

[The wi... winner has been decided!]

[The winner!!! Team Fairy Tail A! Takeshi!!!]

Rumble—

Hearing the announcement, the audience members slowly regained their senses.

"Wha... what was that?!"

"Jura actually lost?! He's one of the Ten Wizard Saints!"

"Ten Wizard Saints? Takeshi defeated a Wizard Saint seven years ago and he was the seventh rank."

"M-monster!"

The audience exploded in chatter, all discussing Takeshi.

The members of Fairy Tail were no different, their expressions barely better than the rest of the crowd.

"Just how many transformations does Takeshi have?!"

"Why is every one of these transformations more monstrous than the last!"

Just when they thought that was Takeshi's final transformation, he would pull out another one, each stronger than the last.

Although the power displayed by Takeshi's current transformation wasn't as strong as his Fox Transformation, it seemed not far off.

Lamia Scale.

"Jura-san actually... lost?!"

Sherria was somewhat incredulous that Jura could lose.

"Huh?!"

Toby opened his mouth wide in disbelief.

Lyon was shocked by the Susanoo Takeshi used but quickly recovered. "As expected of Takeshi. Even after losing seven years, he is still incomparable to other Mages."

Blue Pegasus.

"Takeshi-san is Takeshi-san." Hibiki shook his head with emotion.

Seven years ago, during the fight against Oración Seis, they couldn't help much, only taking down a few small fry.

Takeshi almost single-handedly annihilated the enemy. The strength he displayed back then was terrifying, and now he seems even more dreadful.

Ichiya said, "What a truly terrible scent."

The few people all nodded in strong agreement.

Mermaid Heel.

"Is that Takeshi?"

Araña looked at Takeshi with a hint of fear in her eyes. His power had exceeded the scope of her understanding.

"Yes, that is Takeshi." Millianna said with a giggle.

Although the power displayed by Takeshi in this form was terrifying, in terms of sheer shock factor, Takeshi diverting the Etherion fired by the Magic Council was still more breathtaking.

"Kagura, what do you think?" Millianna turned to look at Kagura.

"Extremely strong. I am not his match." Kagura watched Takeshi in the arena.

Though her expression was calm on the surface, her heart was churning like a stormy sea. She had long heard of Takeshi's strength, but she never had a concrete impression of just how powerful he was.

Upon seeing Takeshi utilize Susanoo in that nearly invincible form, she instantly understood the gap between herself and him.

Raven Tail.

"Takeshi... Hmph! You got yourself one formidable subordinate, dad." Ivan's expression was ugly.

The strength Takeshi displayed left him with lingering fear. Fortunately, the subordinates he had gained over the years possess special abilities, enough to deal with that powerful magic. Otherwise, he would have been tempted to turn and run.

"We can't confront him head-on."

If they were to clash with Takeshi directly, even all five of them combined likely wouldn't be a match for him.

Sabertooth.

"Th-that guy... how can he be so strong?!" Orga's eyes widened, clearly terrified by Takeshi's power.

Cold sweat broke out on Sting's forehead, and he forced a stiff smile. "This is Takeshi. His strength is even more terrifying than seven years ago."

Seven years ago, Sting had personally gone to the Onibas Arena to watch the matches. At the time, he was originally going for Natsu, but after seeing Takeshi, he learned what a true powerhouse was, and his object of admiration shifted from Natsu to Takeshi.

Rogue nodded. "Yes. It's hard to imagine how strong he would be if those seven years hadn't been lost."

Rogue had also gone to the Onibas Arena seven years ago. He went for Gajeel because he was Gajeel's fan at the time, but what he saw was the miserable sight of Gajeel being beaten by Takeshi without any ability to fight back.

He didn't change his object of admiration like Sting did, but Takeshi's performance made him realize that there is always someone better, and the sky is the limit.
